Crazy 4 Comic Con

Good news! I survived STLV 2026 (barely)! Back to back shows with Comic-Con is quite brutal but I had an extraordinary experience and Hero Within had a great response from the fans. I hosted a panel at STLV called the Trials & Tribble-ations of Creating 24th Century Merch and was joined by Martin (Cherry Tree), …

We are back from a crazy week in San Diego and finally ready to recap and review San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Like every year, there is so much unexpected twists and turns that it usually takes a few days just to process what we experienced. This year was my 20th anniversary attending Comic-Con and I’ve …

Our traditional Hall H interviews are back! It was another crazy year of Hall H anxiety as a myriad of fans planned, plotted and schemed about how to get into the infamous Hall H on Saturday. With Marvel leading the way, hordes of attendees stood in line for multiple days for a chance to be …

In 2016, I came to San Diego Comic-Con with my start up Hero Within. Being only a few weeks old, I was going from panel to event hustling my wares to anyone that would stop and listen. It was one of the most scariest things I have ever done. 10 years later, I find myself …

Supergirl (Milly Alcock) first appeared to fandom in her quirky cameo at the end of 2025’s Superman. As a huge fan of that movie, I was thrilled that in a short year, we would be getting another addition to the ‘Super’ family. However, Craig Gillespie‘s version opened to mixed reviews with a 59% on Rotten …

I can’t believe it’s been 7 years since our last theatrical Star Wars movie.(Ep 9: Rise of Skywalker). Since that time, the void has been filled with many (I mean many!) Star Wars Disney+ series. While the quality and reception has been very up and down, The Mandalorian has been the crowning jewel of this …

It was an honor to be on Larry Nemecek‘s WonderCon Star Trek panel to discuss Starfleet Academy and the announcement that it would end after season 2. We also discuss the uncertain future of the franchise and answer some fan questions from the audience. Below is the panel description and the audio: Is it 2017 …

It was another successful WonderCon and it was FANtastic to kickoff the con season among friends. My Small Business panel, Finding Your Passion…And Get Paid returned this year with a stellar panel line up. This year I was joined by artist Priscilla Wilson, writer/publisher Arthur Ebuen and toy maker Jeff Lawber. In our panel, we …

Since the first surprise appearance of Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, we’ve been looking forward to what’s next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To say the MCU is in a state of flux is an understatement. Can next year’s Avengers: Doomsday recapture the magic that we all know and …

I can’t believe we are already back to talk about Supes! Although this time, it’s a different Kryptonian! Today we get our first sneak peek at the new Supergirl film set to open June 26, 2026. We gave Superman high praise this past year and look forward to another big step for this new DC …

Another crazy Comic-Con year in the books! Once again, this was a strange one with the absence of some of the big studios but the presence of big offsite events. Like every year, I gathered a team of con veterans and one first timer to share about their experiences. Thank you Katrina, Boots, Becky and …

My annual Hall H podcast episode returns- however, it was such a strange year. With the absence of the big studios like Warner Bros, Marvel and more, the pressure to camp overnight was greatly reduced. Friday (Tron: Ares) and Sunday (George Lucas) programming might have been more popular than Saturday (Star Trek, Hail Mary), which …

We’re back from a CRAZY week at San Diego Comic-Con and I am finally catching up on all my updates and posts. One of the highlights from every year is hosting panels. My annual favorite returns focusing on small business and entrepreneurship called: How Small Businesses Survive and Thrive. Given the harsh year so far …

It’s finally here! After years of anticipation, the new James Gunn version of Superman has landed here on Earth! In our last episode, Johnny, Trevor and I discussed our history with Superman and what we hoped for in this new incarnation. After seeing Superman a few days early, the super friends reunite to review the …

It’s been almost 12 years since we experienced a solo Superman adventure in the form of Man of Steel (2013). Shockingly, the original Superman the Movie came out in 1978, 47 years ago! And we are now on the eve of a whole new version with James Gunn’s Superman. In preparation, my esteemed nerdy colleagues …

May the Fourth Be With You! What better way to celebrate May the 4th than with a podcast review of Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo, Japan! I am joined by my long time Star Wars buddies Trevor, Savanna (The Dorky Diva) and Mark (MacGuffin Makers). In this podcast, we discuss the general experience as …

It’s been a week and I’m back from my very first cruise! But not just any cruise but Star Trek the Cruise! Produced by Entertainment Cruise Production, this is the eighth voyage for this ultimate fan experience. As I’ve been sharing pics on social media, the biggest question I have been getting is “was it …

After waiting 18 months since James Gunn’s new Superman movie announcement, the official teaser trailer is here! Being hardcore Superman fans for life, Trevor Kaihoi and I wanted to record our first time live reaction to this momentous event! We both are bringing a ton of expectation AND skepticism to this but we sincerely hope …

I had a great time chatting with Frank & Chris of the Nerdpreneur Podcast. On this extended interview, I share about my background in design, my scary transition into Hero Within and walking away with a 6 figure deal at San Diego Comic-Con 2016. If you are into Nerd Entrepreneurs, make sure to check out …

Wow! What a year! I know I seem to say that every year but one thing is always certain about Comic-Con. While it may not always go the way you want, the surprises never disappoints! Not since 2019 has Comic-Con felt like this and wowza, is there a lot to talk about. To recap this …

My annual tradition is back- interviewing Hall H campers on Friday night. Last year, because of the Writer’s Strike, there were no big panels to camp for. This year, Hall H is back with Star Trek, Marvel and more! Team Hero Within boldly goes into the darkness and void of the Hall H line to …

It’s San Diego Comic-Con week which means it’s time for my annual Prep Episode! This year is my 15th Anniversary of Comic-Con podcasting and every year I look forward to this final episode before Comic-Con. In 2009, Comic-Con was a much different animal and preparing for it has turned into whole thing that involves charts, …

With San Diego Comic-Con 2024 just days away, we want to welcome Star Trek Wines here for the first time! As one of our Hero Within Energize Lounge partners, I got a chance to chat with Howard Jackowitz and Craig Spurrier about how Star Trek Wines began, their most popular bottles and their new exclusive, …

Next up in our San Diego Comic-Con series is extraordinary Star Trek artist Kavita Maharaj of Retrospect Studios. We are honored to feature her work at the Energize Lounge during Comic-Con.
