Clear Tinted Classics

It's almost Halloween, so it's time for Eraserhead, for some reason. Dive into Lynch with me.

Jake is joined by special guest Shelby Nave to discuss one of the all-time Halloween classics... Halloween! Get in the mood for fall while watching a young man in a painted William Shatner mask follow people around. Jake and Shelby talk about her history with film and her experience getting a film degree and the pluses and minuses of having a successful Youtube channel. And then they talk about th...

Who did it? Well, that's a complicated answer. But Jake is joined by first time guests Amber and Nick to talk through this campy murder mystery classic. Come for Tim Curry, stay for the multiple endings.

Jake runs through horror movies he has and hasn't seen.

One of the few Adam Sandler movies Jake hadn't seen, one of the many Paul Thomas Anderson movies he hadn't seen, seemed like a good idea.

The film thinks the sales pitch is a talking gorilla, but that's maybe the least interesting thing about this movie. Jake is joined by childhood friend Justin to take on this wacky (sometimes) 90s action (sometimes) film about diamonds, gorillas, and a communications company that maybe wants to take over the world.

Capping off our Wong Kar-Wai trilogy (maybe?) with perhaps his most well regarded film. Is it the best? Is it sad? Come find out as Christina and Jake dive back into the world of sexy Tony Leungs and Maggie Cheungs.

Finally time to dive into the Marx brothers. And what a movie to start with. A war satire where all their gimmicks were firmly established. Let's go.

Jake ranks the Nolan films he has seen. Come for the controversary, leave because he forgot to mention how bad the sound mix in Tenet was.

Jake is joined by writer/director John Oak Dalton to talk about this interesting genre piece from Jean-Luc Godard. When a rogue computer takes over an entire city, things get kind of wacky! Jake also talks to John about how he got started in screenwriting and filmmaking. Check it out!

Some people consider it Guermillo Del Toro's magnum opus, so it needed to be tackled. Jake is joined once again by Svetlana to talk about another pretty esoteric movie, this time though, it has a kid fighting a frog.

Jake watched The Suicide Squad and The Green Knight recently, so he talks about them.

Jake is joined by friend Tommy to dive into what is considered by some to be De Palma's best movie? Is it? Maybe!

Jake watches one of the most classic French New Wave films of all time, and kind of didn't like it. Whoops.

I'm busy, so I talk about Dimension 20, my favorite podcasts, Odd Taxi, some movies I watched house-sitting, Die in a Gunfight, and Black Widow.

It's a sub, it's a jet, no, it's a TANK! Jake is joined by his friend Andrew to talk about this punk rock cult movie that maybe totally deserves to be talked about a lot more. Lori Petty is TANK GIRL! And also Naomi Watts is JET GIRL. And Ice-T is a KANGAROO!

What is this movie? Jake watched it, so he's gonna talk about it. Come find out about Rowdy Roddy Piper being the most virile man in a nuclear wasteland filled with frog people and sexy women. It's... fun?

It's the sequel episode to Chungking Express as Jake and Christina continue diving into Wong Kar-Wai. How does this movie stack up to Express, and is it even fair to compare the two? Is this seedier, arguably sexier spiritual sequel maybe even better? Come find out.

I talk about what I've been watching. Yay. Come on in for recommendations on shows, movies, anime, and even youtube channels.

Jake has never seen Cronenberg's The Fly. Lucas has never seen Cronenberg's The Fly. Together, the finally watch, and talk about Cronenberg's the fly. Is Goldblum good? Is Geena Davis the real protagonist of the story? Is Stathis really a first name? Come find out.

It's just Jake, and he's covering Guy Ritchie's first film, which surprisingly is a British street level crime... thing. Check it out!

Jancy returns to the show to help Jake try and tackle maybe the most complex film that has ever been covered on the show. They don't get that far, but the conversation is real good anyway.

Jake is busy as fuck so he covered a short film, what do you want? Stupid voices? Those are at the end of the episode, so listen to the whole dumb thing.

In the first ever reverse episode, previous guest Christina comes back to help Jake gush about one of his favorite movies of all time, Chungking Express. Also, look forward to even more Wong Kar Wai in the future!

Jake is joined by Taylor and Djosh to try and take on the entire trilogy. They barely scratch the surface, but they have fun trying.
