Bedtime Bible Stories for Adults

Tonight's episode is another combination of multiple episodes! It includes The Twins--Jacob and Esau, The Story of Jacob and Rachel, and Jacob Returns Home. One of the things that stands out to me about Jacob is thathe lied to and betrayed his own brother and father, and then later is betrayed by his uncle. I've always wondered why God allowed someone involved in so much deception to becom...

Tonight we finish up the book of Revelation! In the last three chapters of Revelation, John sees the final defeat of evil, the judgment of all things, and the creation of a new heaven and a new earth! The darkness is gone, death is no more, and God dwells with His people. I got very emotional during this episode, mostly because of being sick for so long. And you will hear it. I did not correct it...

As we continue in Revelation chapters 17 through 19, John is shown the fall of Babylon, the triumph of heaven, and the best part... the victorious return of Jesus Christ ! Here we see God's perfect justice and His faithfulness to fulfill His promises. Hallelujah! How I long for that day, as I know you all do as well. I still find myself struggling with the fear of the end of time and the fear...

Well, according to the polls the majority of you felt ready to continue with Revelation! In Part 3, the focus shifts to the spiritual battle taking place behind the events of history. John sees visions of the woman, the dragon, the beasts, and the seven angels with their bowls. This is where the mark of the beast is mentioned. We don't need to be afraid--we just need to make sure we follow the...

Reading Revelation again has definitely shifted my focus. In part 2, we encounter the opening of the seals and the sounding of the seven trumpets by seven angels. Do you see how much God loves the number seven? As you listen, if you find yourself becoming fearful, remind yourself that God does not give us a spirit of fear... but of power and love and self-discipline. The devil wants us to be afrai...

We have had many requests for the book of Revelation! It's such an important book--especially during these times. Revelation begins with a vision of Jesus given to the apostle John. In part one, Jesus speaks to His seven churches, asking them to remain faithful, and calling out their errors. The focus is not fear, but worship, endurance, and the authority of Christ over all things. Revelation says...

I finally finished remastering all the Joseph episodes. This includes removing some background noise and slowing it down just a little. I had to laugh because this is such a long episode! One of my favorite stories from the Bible--such a great comeback story. God always has a plan and is always working behind the scenes. Even when times seem dark, we won't need to be afraid. His rod and his st...

Part 2 of Hebrews (chapters 8 through 13), shifts from explaining who Jesus is to showing what His work means for us. These chapters highlight the new covenant . Jesus is our perfect High Priest who opened a better way to approach God, through His once-for-all sacrifice. And God's law is now written on our hearts and in our minds . Chapter 11 is commonly known as "the faith chapter."...

We don't know for sure who wrote the books of Hebrews. Some suggestions include Paul, Barnabas, or Luke. Hebrews is a powerful encouragement to believers who were feeling tired and pressured in their faith. Its central message is simple but profound: Jesus is greater . Greater than angels, Moses, the priesthood, and the old covenant. Because of Him, we now have direct access to God and a bette...

**Warning for this episode: self-harm** I hope you enjoy the FULL episode of the story of the prophet Elijah. Israel was in a dark time. The king, Ahab, had married a foreign princess named Jezebel, and together they led the nation away from the Lord. The people began worshiping Baal—a false god. Enter Elijah. God provides food for him during a famine, heraises a dead child to life, takes part in...

Tonight's episode comes after the episode called The First King of Israel. Saul is king, and he and his son Jonathan are in a constant war with the Philistines. Here we learn that obedience is far better than sacrifice. Saul's disobedience to God eventually costs him and his lineage the kingdom. We are reading 1 Samuel 13 through 15 (NIV). If you have been blessed by this podcast and would...

Happy 2026! I apologize that it's been a while. You already know the story. Health, a full December and January, etc. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with friends and family. And for those of you experience sadness during the holidays, my prayers are with you. We are grieving the passing of my father-in-law. He is now resting in Jesus. He was a man of faith and will be missed. Tonight we...

In between new episodes I am working on remastering old episodes and getting them on YouTube. Recently I had also considered combining some episodes that were split into one longer episode, and one of you suggested it, too! When I am recording the episodes, it's a lot for my fatigue and shortness of breath, so sometimes I have to create them in multiple parts. Going back and combining them aft...

I had so much fun recording this episode! It's a new story for me which is always enjoyable. The story takes place right after the fall of Jericho (the episode titled "Rahab and the Scarlet Rope"). Joshua and the Israelites are up against Ai. (If I'm pronouncing Ai wrong, I sincerely apologize! It was the one I found when I searched that seemed the most accurate.) Someone is diso...

Thank you for your patience, friends! October was a lot. I was in a flare, then my husband got sick (which added to my flare), among other things. But God is good and a new episode is here! I'm praying the next one doesn't take as long. We had a special request for another relaxing, peaceful episode, similar to the last one. I searched around, but landed again in Psalms. I wanted to take c...

Friends... my heart is heavy. There have been so many senseless tragedies in the last few weeks. We know as believers that the world will get worse as we get closer to the end of time. We mourn, but we don't mourn as the rest of the world does. We keep the faith. The good news is this life is not the end. We all have the gift of eternal life, and all we have to do is accept it. Praise God for...

We have had a couple of requests for The Beatitudes which are at the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount. This is one of Jesus' most famous sermons and I'm thrilled to share this episode. There is a lot to unpack. It includes the Lord's Prayer (I get emotional reading that!) and teachings on loving our enemies and not worrying about tomorrow. I think it's important to mention that...

We had a recent request for the book of Habakkuk, and interestingly enough, my devotional was recently about Habakkuk, and a pastor mentioned the prophet as well. I took it as a sign. A lot of us struggle with anxiety and trust, and the book of Habakkuk encourages us to rejoice in the Lord, trusting Him even when everything else fails or seems like it's going wrong. I wanted to mention that I...

Proverbs has been a highly requested book. It is a collection of wise sayings and teachings meant to help people live with wisdom, kindness, and respect for God. Most of the proverbs were written by King Solomon, known for his great wisdom. I won't be reading through all of the book in a row, but this episode is covering the first 4 chapters. Solomon speaks like a father giving advice to his s...

In Ephesians chapters 4 through 6, we read practical instructions for how believers should live in response to God's grace. Key teachings include living with unity and love, putting of the "old self," Godly relationships, and the armor of God. This includes the famous instructions for husbands and wives. I have really enjoyed Ephesians and hope you have as well. If you have been bles...

Tonight we have another highly requested reading--the book of Ephesians. There will be two parts. The first part covers chapters 1 through 3. Paul is writing a letter to the early Christian believers in the city of Ephesus. Paul begins by highlighting the incredible blessings that believers have in Christ. Ephesians reminds us that salvation is a gift of grace. If you have been blessed by this pod...

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms out there, including "fur" moms and those longing to be moms. It is bittersweet tonight as we wrap up the amazing story of Job. God finally speaks and addresses Job and his friends. The ending will give you so much hope! Praise God that He makes all things new and works everything out for our good. At the beginning of the episode, I share a...

I hope you had a wonderful Good Friday and a blessed Resurrection Sunday! He is risen. Praise God. I can't believe we are on part 5 of the Story of Job. We only have one more episode after this one. In this episode, we hear from someone new--Elihu. Job has stopped speaking and his friends are also done with their opinions and "words of wisdom." Elihu is younger, but has much to share...

Part 4 begins with Job speaking again, followed by a response from his friend, Bildad. After that, Job shares his final words with his friends and his final defense. I imagine he is exhausted from trying to justify himself to his friends and calling out to God. My favorite chapter of this episode is chapter 26. Job describes God's powerful works as Creator of the universe. Then he says, "...

The book of Job is a long one, but full of raw and relatable thoughts. I've enjoyed getting a deeper look at the dialogue between Job and his friends. Job doesn't hold back! Many of you are also in your Job season like I am. Pray for wisdom, for strength, that we will learn quickly if God is trying to teach us something, and that God will use us... even while suffering. Let's thank Him...
