Almost Accurate

Jake and Ryan enjoy the shortest of respites from the wintry weather that has hammered the luscious North Carolina plains for several weeks and discuss some of the things they have been binge watching while stuck inside and watching it snow (and sleet. this is the South y'all).  Turns out, Netflix has had some BANGERS drop in the last few weeks that are worth binging for sure! If you haven't watch...

On this episode of Almost Accurate, the boys urge you to keep you heads down and don't look up at the sky, at the giant-ass comet Dibiasky that is currently hurtling towards the Earth, that is threatening to end life as we know it. No... instead, why don't you slip some headphones into your ears and listen to Jake and Ryan let you know that all of it is (probably) going to be okay.... That's right...

Jake and Ryan are back and they're back on Zoom! Ryan has had plenty of time recently to catch up on all sorts of media, watching Marvel's Eternals, The Righteous Gemstones, and of course a healthy does of King of the Hill. Jake has been playing PLENTY of Nintendo's 51 Clubhouse Games and it's finally time to talk full spoilers for Dexter New Blood!  Pour one out for a real one, RIP Bob Saget.  Al...

We're two dudes that are over 30 years old, so we well remember a time when people used to use #TBT every Thursday to post a picture they took about 2 and half weeks prior. It was brutal time to be on social media. Anyhow... in lieu of new contact for all of you this week, we're releasing another compilation episode. This time we're throwing it back to early 2019, and focusing on the best of episo...

OUR FIRST EVER ZOOM EPISODE  This week the boys sit down together (remotely) and reflect on the year that was 2021, and look ahead with hope to the year that it currently is right this second (2022). The year that you the listener are currently listening to this in? Unknowable. We don’t know the future, and if we did, we probably wouldn’t be doing this podcast.   We got sidetracked there didn’t we...

It's finally time for out last episode of 2021, and we cannot thank you enough for what a year it's been! Thankfully however, we have a VERY good movie to end the year on, of course you've probably seen by the episode title of course, it's time for us to finally talk about Spider-Man: No Way Home, and what a ride this movie truly is! There's plenty of space to talk about minor plot points that don...

Well well well.... I suppose we all knew that this episode was coming at some point, but here it is. Jake and Ryan are here to lay down the law and talk about what it was like growing up as little kids in the South, and what Christmas meant to them (and of course by extension, what Christmas movies made an impact on them). So buckle up on a very revealing glimpse into the childhood of two kids tha...

This week the boys have some Game Awards News to talk about. That's right, it's time for that annual night where we as video game fans sit down and watch a three hour plus awards show where most of it is dedicated to commercials but we still tune in each and every single year.  There's a new Star Wars game afoot. Is it going to be any good after we saw that Quantic Dream logo at the end of it? Wel...

This week it's time to dip back into the batshit insane, redneck world of Tiger King. That's right people, those crazy folks down at Netflix actually scrounged together enough material to make a second season of what was once the biggest show in the world. So how does it all stack up? Does it reach the lofty heights of entertainment that the first season did? Does it launch at the literal most opp...

This week it's BIG NEWS TIME. What do the boys mean by big news time? Upwards of 5, that's right five news stories and two different media properties.... so yeah.. you all are really getting you money's worth at this point.  Ryan watched about 2/3rds of Welcome to Raccoon City before sadly some technical issues intervened at the AMC theater, and Jake has watched the first two episodes of Hawkeye,...

This week the boys have the honor of reviewing one of the most okay-ish movies they've ever had the preview of reviewing... that's right folks it's Ghostbusters Afterlife time!!  Is this a film that delivers upon decades of nostalgia and classic film tropes to develop a satisfying sequel/reboot? Is this a movie that is more akin to the Stranger Things inspired horror/comedy movies we've seen in re...

This week Jake and Ryan have NEWS NEWS and some more NEWS. GTA fans are furious at Rockstar for their rather half-assed "Definitive Edition", there's a Daredevil reboot afoot and Disney + is adding a TON of new stuff to their lineup... eventually!  However, the main event that the boys wanted you to know they were for sure going to talk about today was of course that new Spider-Man No Way Home tra...

Mr. Krabbs is here? Debb is a gh...

This week… it’s no longer spooky season but guess what??! It’s always spooky season in here (points to heart….) Anyway, as you definitely would’ve guessed from all of that, the boys are ready to take on Michael Myers the the sequel (and like 11th movie in the franchise) of Halloween Kills! That’s right, it’s the follow up to one of the movies that Ryan has hated for quite some time. Has the sequel...

It’s time for Jake and Ryan to take on the BIGGEST show in Netflix history. That’s right, this week the boys are tackling the show that so many (at least two of you we’re hoping) have absolutely been clamoring for: that’s right it’s SQUID GAME TIME BAYBAYYYYY.  Almost Accurate is a weekly pop culture podcast hosted by Jake and Ryan who review the latest in Movies, TV Shows, Video Games, and more....

This week on Almost Accurate, the boys enter the dome… that’s right, we’re talking about the DC FanDome of course. What’s under the DOME? A lot of Batmens, maybe a Flash or two, and maybe a Dwayn the Rock Johnson or two. Who’s to say??  Animal Crossing had a big event, Nintendo is charing way, way too much for N64 games, and of course we can’t forget about the cinematic masterpiece that is Venom:...

This week the boys have a big ole nostalgic franchise to tackle….. a dreadful one some might say…   That’s right… Jake has been waiting YEARS to finally talk about a new Metroid game and it’s finally here. It’s Metroid Dread time baybayyyyyy. This game is hard as hell folks, but it sure is a good time (well… for most of it at least).  The boys also have a ton of news to catch up on. New GTA Trilog...

This week the boys are back and they’re here to discuss the amazing game that is Eastward. Man oh man, what a beautiful, well written, and wonderfully crafted game that is SO much fun to play and puzzle solve through.   But that’s not all! Ryan has watched the tightly twisting Netflix series Clickbait, a show that will keep you saying who’s doing the bad thing right up until the end… and when it g...

This week the boys only talk about Only Murder in the Building (in addition to several other things actually). Marvel has had a big week with SEVERAL new games coming to the PlayStation, and PlayStation have had a big week in general with their new showcase. This and more (and more you say? Yes, more we say) in this week's episode. Enjoy!  Almost Accurate is a weekly pop culture podcast hosted by...

THIS WEEK: the boys return to the movie theater and get to finally experience one of the best MCU movies in recent years (well... since Endgame basically). No jokes, Shang-Chi is the charming, funny, action packed movie that you've been waiting for to actually sit down with a mask on and experience in a movie theater. It's worth it.  The boys also have some trailer to discuss, Leonardo DiCaprio is...

This week the boys have a full bumper crop of things to discuss. That new Val Kilmer doc on Amazon? Ryan's watched it. Axiom Verge 2? Jake's played it. Candyman? Well Ryan watched that too (what a double feature), and the boys have both sampled Marvel's What If...? Disney + series and you know what? That's pretty damn good too.  Almost Accurate is a weekly pop culture podcast hosted by Jake and Ry...

Well wouldn't you know it, if the boys weren't back and it's time to head on down the rushing river of news of the past few weeks. Is there a new Spider-Man trailer? You bet there is. Do the boys have some opinions? You bet they do.  Did Elon Musk make a strange statement about the Tesla Bots that his company is going to allegedly make? You bet he did? Did the boys make some inappropriate jokes ab...

The boys return with a new podcast after five years away, where most of the cast has been replaced with new people, but Harley Quinn is back still. Oh wait... sorry that was the movie they watched this week, not the show.  IT'S SUICIDE SQUAD TIME BABAYYYYYY.  The boys also have time to watch the new Venom 2 trailer, and get a taste of the new season of Dexter (looks pretty cold wherever they've se...

It's time to cast your minds back to a simpler time.... that simpler time where if you did anything people would say that you were a witch and blame everything bad that happened in your town on you. Ahhh... history.  The boys are back to finish the Fear Street trilogy, and Fear Street 1666 doesn't disappoint! There's also news that Cyberpunk has been selling really, really well even though Sony is...

This week the boys continue to head backwards in time, and forwards in some surprisingly brutal horror killings... like seriously y'all, we're talking about a dude getting his head full on chopped off, like that was insane. It's Fear Street Part Two time! Because why would building a kid's camp on top of a cursed colonial town NOT be a good idea?  Ryan has also dabbled in the PS5 and played Ratche...
