The Franchise

We went to see the lady Ocean's reboot! But first, it's a franchise update and an updated 2018 list.

The gang's back for more hijinx! Julia Roberts as Julia Roberts. Stakes is low, fun is high. Special guest Nathaniel Safren (Safren on Spotify) joins us to discuss a couple of romps. Plus, the new Kanye album reviewed?

We saw the new Star War and discussed it in detail. We also ranked every Ron Howard movie. Plus, a 2012 discussion between George Lucas and Ron Howard is unearthed!

Hey, hepcats and Daddy-O's! We're skiddlybopping back in time to check in with those cool cats known as the Rat Pack. Then we get down to biz and rank every Steven Soderbergh film while talking about the vastly superior Ocean's remake.

Liana Boraas (Rob Has a Podcast, @lianaboraas) joins us to reflect on Robin Williams and childhood traumas while discussing Jumanji. Then, we check out the big-money sequel and see if it measures up. PLUS, Daniel watches Zathura: A Space Adventure.

Daniel and Henry are joined by special guest Alex Kidwell (@alexkidwell) to reminisce about Kevin Smith's earliest days as a filmmaker and then take a long jaunt through his entire career. How do these convenience store classics hold up these days? Plus, a ranking of Smith's entire filmography.

EPISODE 100! We celebrate with a shark classic and its VOD sequel. Plus, Space Cadet Juan crunches the numbers and ranks every franchise we've done based on our ratings. DEEPEST BLUEST MY HAT IS LIKE A SHARK FIN.

Henry and Daniel check out the latest MCU extravaganza. They discuss their diametrically opposite filmgoing experiences, rank all 19 MCU movies and talk through the movie in spoiler-loving detail. PLUS, they finally unveil their 2017 Top 10s.

We return to the Marvel Universe to discuss Joss Whedon's overlong superhero crossover extravaganzas. BYO shawarma.

We're talkin' Terms this week! Those of endearment that is. Lotsa singin' and yappin' about good ol' fashioned families! Is Terms a classic? Is James L. Brooks a great filmmaker? Is The Evening Star a pile of horseshit? Listen to find out.

We wrap up the first part of our Bond coverage with a lil' Lazenby, plus our Bond movie rankings up to now. Where will Georgie land? Brought to you by A Bronx Tale, in all its many forms.

THROW YR DIAMONDS IN THE SKY IF YOU FEEL THE VIBE!!! But seriously, James Bond transforms into an Asian man and then throws Crispin Glover's Dad off a cruise ships. Multiple Blofelds. Multiple cats. A whole lotta boning.

Our Bond coverage continues with a possible masterpiece about a fat guy who's terrible at both golf and Gin Rummy, followed by a bloated epic about a bunch of randos moving really, really slowly underwater.

007 time, friend! Hank and Daniel dig deep into the Connery/Lazenby era with a couple globetrotting romps featuring a load of boning down hard!

Henry and Daniel take another trip to the multiplex to see Alicia Vikander in ROAR UTHAUG's new Tomb Raider movie. But first, the first Franchise Update in ages!

In preparation for the new Alicia Vikander vehicle, Henry and Daniel do a deep dive into the Croft Manor with a couple of Jolie flicks. Is she good? Who's better--Daniel Craig or Gerard Butler? The answer may surprise you! WHERE'S YOUR HEAD AT AT AT AT AT!!

If you ever wanted to see a 1994 Charles Bronson chasing tail in the Vancouver fashion industry, boy, have we got a movie for you. Then, we try and mostly fail to put politics aside in going to see the mixed bag that is the Eli Roth/Bruce Willis version of this classic tale.

Charles Bronson returns to NY to razzle the Foot Clan with some McCallister-esque booby traps, and then he skips on back to LA to solve America's cocaine crisis. Just say no!

In anticipation of Eli Roth's remake, Dan and Henry get super bummed out by Michael Winner's originals, a couple of gross rapesploitation movies about how helpful guns are. Come for the second amendment rants, stay for the Herbie Hancock and Robert Plant scores.

Henry and Daniel venture off to the multiplex to sit alone in the dark and watch the final Fifty Shades movie. Let's tie up some loose ends.

We're joined by Shandy to discuss the first entry in BDSM Twilight fan-fiction series 50 Shades of Grey. What will happen when we tumble into Christian Grey's office looking for some erotic thrills? Come find out. After all, we don't make love. We fuck. Hard.

Danny Boyle follows up his masterpiece about addiction in Edinburgh twenty years later with two hours of nostalgia and cool camera shots. One of us loved it and one of us hated it.

We discuss the era of Apatow, as we act totally normal and hilarious. Rogen. Hill. Segel. Baruchel. Starr. Heigl. Mann. Rudd. Fox. Yi. O'Dowd. Dunham. All the greats.

We are joined by Real Weird Sister Martha Krebill (@realweirdmartha) to discuss a formative franchise in her life, but a brand new one to our intrepid hosts. Daniel, Henry and the future Martha Bartha get to open that Cage door, which leads to Gates (is that a clue?).

Henry and Daniel diverge on the two latest Star Wars films. Prepare for some defense and some offense. There's only one thing that's certain: the Porgs are the best.
