Inside the Draw

A short podcast episode today where I jump straight into ATP Shanghai and go through the draw and who I fancy. With World Tour Finals qualification high on everyone’s mind, there’ll be no shortage of motivation in Shanghai. I have a feeling Djokovic won’t play; as of now, he is in the draw and of course I could be wrong, but let’s see after the Beijing final, where I really hope he wins in a coupl...

Novak Djokovic has made more history by moving to an insane 32-0 at Beijing by defeating Sascha Zverev in the Chinese capital today. He’s not home yet as Daniil Medvedev lies in wait in the semis but I think Djokovic can beat him and should be favored by the market, which he's currently not. Sinner announced his withdrawal from Shanghai today while Elena Rybakina is out of Wuhan; both withdraw...

Djokovic returns to his best ever tournament, putting a 29-0 perfect record on the line. I think he’s very live to pull out a win and he’s in our list of picks here. Elsewhere, Tokyo, playing a lot faster than Beijing, sees a loaded top half with Alcaraz and Fritz on course for a repeat in the semis of last year’s final. Find out who I think takes advantage in the bottom half. In WTA Beijing, we h...

Sinner pulls out of Beijing but I fear we won’t see him at all now until Vienna at the earliest or perhaps even Australia in January which to me is almost more likely at this point. That would open the door even further for a Sascha Zverev year end world number one. Some bizarre stuff with a concussion forcing Prozorova out of the Singapore semi finals, I look at the Laver Cup, the Billie Jean Kin...

The men’s tour joins the women’s in the trip east and settles in Hangzhou and Chengdu for a pair of 250s this week. Daniil Medvedev is the star attraction but at his price he’s an easy swerve for me. I’ve got some very tasty long shots in here, and I also tell you which players to avoid based on some rather dramatic Davis Cup trans-world travel in the past day or so! 00:00 intro 01:14 Seoul and Si...

Singapore has attracted a very decent field here which I jump into in the later part of the show. I expect us to see a Mirra Andreeva vs Alex Eala final, and wouldn’t the tournament organisers be delighted to see that!? Amanda Anisimova might have something to say. I preview Seoul 250 in what is a weaker draw but also plenty of talent around, while I rue a huge missed opportunity squandered by Pau...

Elena Rybakina won the US open in style and what a performance it was. I take a quick look back and then jump straight into the WTA 500 in Guadalajara, Mexico before previewing WTA 250 in São Paulo, Brazil. The field in Mexico is not bad, will Marta Kostyuk be bought in? Can Jovic defend? She looked super in New York. The field in Brazil is a lot weaker and it’s bookended by Leylah Fernandez and P...

Listen along as I dive into the latter stages of the men's and women’s US Open 2026. A super comeback from Elena Rybakina today saw her take out home hope Coco Gauff and set up a mouthwatering final against Aryna Sabalenka which I look ahead to, along with a preview of the men’s semifinals tomorrow between Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton plus, in a much faster lookahead, Zverev v Khachanov! 00:...

I look ahead to week 2 of the 2026 US Open in New York. IS Jess Pegula still being underrated? Sabalenka looks better, but hasn't played much yet; that's about to change vs Linda Noskova! In the bottom, Coco Gauff is motoring but so too Andreeva, Swiatek and Rybakina. On the men's side, Alcaraz now faces Shelton. Can anyone stop Carlito? I speak on a strange interaction with Marketa Vo...

I take a look at the 2026 US open so far. On the men’s side, a tale of shock exits; Djokovic, Jodar and Fils in round one. Nakashima, Auger Aliassime and Musetti in round two! On the women’s side, Krejcikova and Bencic fall but Pegula, Gauff, Sabalenka and all the big names are rolling. Listen to that, and tons more in this action packed episode. 00:00 intro 01:43 men’s tournament so far 07:07 wom...

My analysis and preview of the 2026 Men’s US Open draw. I can’t wait for this; it’s been a long time coming! Fils is on fire, Fritz is on fire, Shelton, Nakashima and Tiafoe too.
