Baptism is a public declaration that Jesus is my Lord, the gospel is my confession, and I belong to His people.

This week on Be The Church, Pastor Alan, Mark Herzlich and Hunter Robinson discuss Ephesians 4 and why the way we think matters so much, especially in an age when AI is tempting us toward cognitive surrender instead of a whole-life surrender to Jesus.  🗒️Additional resources from this week: YouVersion notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49672871 Sermon video replay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

In Ephesians 4:17-24, Paul tells us that when you know who you are then you know what to think. If we are going to win the battle of our minds, we must put off the old way of thinking and put on the new way of thinking.

In Ephesians 2, Paul gives us our gospel identity in three movements: who we once were before Christ, who we now are because of Christ and what we are now called to do for Christ. We were dead in sin, but because of God’s great love towards us, we are now demonstrations of His grace and have been deployed for good works.

In today's episode, Pastor Alan, Pastor Thomas Keys, III and Mark Herzlich discuss the reality that we're not fighting against flesh and blood — instead we are fighting an enemy who wants us walking around with half our armor on and why "some of the armor" was never God's plan.   🗒️Additional resources from this week: YouVersion notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49666023 Sermon video replay: htt...

Paul tells us that we stand firm by putting on the whole Armor of God: he tells us what the armor is and why it matters that we have it on.

Whether we realize it or not, we are living in the middle of an unseen battle every single day, facing an enemy that relies on our distraction and ignorance to take ground. In this episode, we unpack Ephesians 6 to discover how to recognize the true enemy, stand firm against his schemes, and walk daily in the victorious strength of Jesus. 🗒️Additional resources from this week: YouVersion notes: ht...

Paul teaches us that we must recognize the reality of the war we’re in, understand our responsibility to stand firm, and rely on the resources God has given us in Christ.

The Christian life is following Jesus wherever He leads, trusting Him whatever the storm, and worshiping Him for who He is.

We all read warning labels and assume they're for somebody else—but today we're looking at the final warning the Apostle John gives his readers: 'Keep yourself from idols.' In this episode, we'll uncover why the idols in our lives rarely look dangerous, and how the only way to truly guard our hearts is to examine them, expose them as frauds, and exchange them for someone infinitely better. 🗒️Addit...

The only way to guard our soul against idolatry is to examine our idols, expose them as frauds, and exchange them for Someone better.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but faith fueled obedience in the presence of God. When you have courageous confidence in your future you will pray big prayers and make big sacrifices.

What if your assurance of salvation didn't depend on the strength of your faith, but on the strength of the One you've placed it in? Today's episode walks through 1 John 5:1-12 to show how genuine faith in Jesus is revealed by what it produces, grounded in what it believes, and sustained by the unshakable assurance that if you have the Son, you have everything. 🗒️Additional resources from this wee...

We are not sustained by the strength of our faith, but by the strength of the ONE in whom we’ve placed our faith. John shows us that the faith that overcomes is revealed by what it produces, grounded in what it believes, and sustained by the assurance it experiences.

Today on Be The Church, discover how understanding God's unconditional love can transform our daily life, conquer our deepest anxieties, and free us from fear. Pastor Alan, Mark Herzlich and Thomas Keys, III explore how resting in Christ's finished work empowers us to stop seeking validation and start loving others fearlessly. 🗒️Additional resources from this week: YouVersion notes: https://www.bi...

John is teaching us that the more convinced you are that God loves you, the more fearless and freer you are to love others.

John wants us to know what love is, where it comes from and what it does: it originates in God, initiates the response, and annihilates our biggest problem.

In a world full of deception, John warns us to be careful, be Christ-centered, and be confident.

Today Pastor Alan and Ed Upton explore how to find true spiritual assurance when our own hearts and the surrounding culture make us feel like we are never enough. Discover how God’s omniscience and grace overrule our self-condemnation, replacing guilt with child-like confidence and a life of gratitude. Join us as we learn to rest in the verdict of a God who is greater than your heart. 🗒️Additional...

We all want to know where we belong, but whose family resemblance do our daily lives actually show? Today Pastor Alan and Ed Upton dive into 1 John 3 for a spiritual paternity test to see if we are living for ourselves like Cain, or laying down our lives for others like Christ. 🗒️Additional resources from this week: YouVersion notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49635854 Sermon video replay: https...

John gives us a spiritual paternity test to see if we are the children of God or the children of the devil. Do we live: My life for me or my life for others?

In these verses, John tells us that Jesus came to rescue us from our sinfulness and to destroy the work of the devil.

In these verses, we see that we can have hope in a broken world through the security of our status in Jesus and the certainty of His coming.
