The Swan Dive: A BLFC Fan Show

Well, there's a first time for everything and this week, the Swan Dive had its first emergency recording session. We recorded a whole podcast (and then some) and then the news about the Legacy signing Gift Monday dropped and we just couldn't let that sit there un-discussed until the next time we recorded. The main purpose of this episode, however, was to recap the incredible road win again...

Well, Legacy fans, the team played in a match against the Seattle Reign last weekend and that's all there really is to say about it. Jokes aside, it was a rough one, but we have a job to do here so Andy, Courtney and Liz got together to give a few thoughts on the team's 2-0 loss against Seattle. The Legacy are headed back to the west coast this weekend to take on the Portland Thorns and we...

Well, the Legacy's mini win streak came to an end over the weekend as they suffered a 2-1 loss to Houston on a rainy day in Pawtucket. Andy and Courtney were joined by first time guest Maddi to discuss this hard fought match against the Dash. Then, the team was joined once again by Van from The Cooler Guild podcast (Hi Coop, we missed you!) to preview this week's fixture against the Seattl...

Legacy fans, we are coming off a HUGE win against the Spirit this past weekend and we couldnt wait to dive (pun intended) right into it. ICYMI, the Swan Dive team took a little field trip to catch the big game down in DC and it was a great time (check out IG for pics!). Andy and Courtney were joined this week by returning guest Dave (and no I do not know how many episodes this makes but he is stil...

Woohoo Swan Dive listeners, the Legacy stopped their string of highly questionable, not great games with a huge 2-1 win against Utah Royals on the road and we were so excited to talk about it. The long weekend got the better of us planning wise so we had no Legacy guest this week so we had a rare Swan Dive moment where Andy and Courtney had a nice little one on one chat about all the action. After...

Legacy fans, it was another tough one as the team fell 5-2 against Angel City Monday night. While we are going to share our thoughts as always, we also had a bit of fun as we were joined by a special guest in our Legacy fan seat. If you have ever been to a Legacy game, you have heard her voice announcing players and Legacy goals among other fun things. That's right, in our third seat we were joine...

It's that time again, The Swan Dive team is back to talk all things Boston Legacy. Andy and Courtney are joined by second time guest Jack to discuss last week's unfortunate and disappointing loss to the North Carolina Courage. The Legacy also gave us some news to discuss this week with the acquisition of midfielder Sarah Schupansky from Gotham FC (which I think technically happened last week but i...

Well, Legacy fans, I think we can agree that last match against Racing Louisville was...suboptimal, to put it gently. We wanted to talk about this just about as much as you probably want to listen to us talk about it, but alas, that is what we are here for. We did do something different this week. Instead of a full blown recap, we did an abridged version: lineup and personnel, overall takeaways an...

Well, Swans fans, that was a tough one and a wild one. All good things (like 1-1 for science) must come to an end and the Legacy were unable to come away with any points from Portland. Andy and Courtney were joined by first time guest Brad to recap the seven goal scorcher against the Portland Thorns. They were then joined by Brendan (another Brendan enters the fray) from the Butchertown Rundown po...

Forget 1-1 for science, 1-1 for a big result in a tough away fixture! This week Liz put her guest hat back on and joined Andy and Courtney to review the Legacy's draw against the Denver Summit. With the draw, the Legacy officially have won The Battle of Expansion Clubs for this season with one win and one draw. We were then joined by Thorns fan (and Andy's friend) Alex to preview the upcoming home...

Welcome to another episode of The Swan Dive! This week we were joined by third time guest L.E. to talk about the good, the bad and the ugly from the Legacy's exciting 1-0 win against the KC Current. After that, we were joined by Kali from the Summit Up podcast to preview the away fixture of the battle of the expansion teams against the Denver Summit. Brief summary this week, we'll get straight to...

Happy Birthday Swan Dive! This episode was recorded on July 22nd which is exactly one year after the very first episode of the podcast was released. We talk about it a little in the podcast, but again just want to thank everyone who has listened, been a guest, helped us out, asked questions, given feedback, etc. over the last year. We appreciate all the support and can't wait to see what this next...

BACK TO BACK WINS! BACK TO BACK SHUTOUTS! The good times keep rolling for the swans in Orlando. The performance may not have been the best, but three points is three points! With Courtney away, Liz and Andy were joined by first time guest Jack to discuss the historic first road win and shutout. We were then joined by André from Hey Spirits! to preview the Legacy's blockbuster match against Washing...

CLEAN SHEET! CLEAN SHEET! That's right, the Legacy recorded their first ever clean sheet against the Chicago Stars and we get to talk about what was a really solid looking Legacy team! Courtney and Andy were joined by second time guest Brendan (a different Brendan as you will hear) to discuss the big win and shutout. Courtney also had another listener shoutout with a funny (maybe? She can laugh at...

We are back to talk about the Legacy's first game back after the extended international break. Andy and Courtney were joined by first time guest Cam to take a look at the Legacy's 2-2 draw against Bay FC. We saw the debut of Lilly Reale and the return of Lais Araujo along with some other lineup changes as well as Amanda Gutierres scoring her. first goal from the run of play. We talked about all th...

Legacy fans, we are back with our last "special episode" before the team is finally back in action on Sunday. Obviously, we at the Swan Dive are supporters of women's sports so this episode takes a little look into the landscape of women's sports with some special guests. Our first guest Greg talked with Andy about the Boston Dream organization and how it not only interfaces with the Boston Legacy...

Welcome to the 25th episode of The Swan Dive! We are back after a bit of a break with a bit of a different episode this week. Since the league is on break, we don't have any games to review or preview, but did do some fun things this week. Before we got to all that, we had some exciting news to discuss! The Legacy announced the signing of USWNT and Gotham FC defender (and MA Native) Lilly Reale an...

Well, I think a lot of folks would agree it went better than it could have, but we once again have to discuss another Legacy loss, this time to the Kansas City Current. First time guest Nicole joins us to recap and share thoughts on the 1-0 loss. No preview this week because the league is on international break for the month of June, but stay tuned to the end to hear what the Swan Dive will be up...

All good things must.come to an end. Don't worry, we arent talking about the podcast (you're stuck with us), but we are referring to the Legacy's unbeaten streak. It's been awhile since we have had to do one of these after a loss, but here we go. Andy and Courtney are joined by second time guest Brendan as they discuss the Legacy's 2-1 loss to Seattle Reign. We get into the good, the bad, the ugly...

After a much needed rest after last week's crazy soccer and podcast schedule, we are back! This week, Andy and Courtney are joined by Boston Legacy and RIFC season ticket member Tyler to not only recap the Legacy game against Bay FC, but also share a little information about Centreville Bank Stadium; the Legacy's new home for the next handful of games. Tyler has some great information and advice o...

We are back for this week's second episode! Sort of seems like we just did this doesn't it? (spoiler alert, we did). Totally worth it though, because we get to celebrate another Legacy win! Unbeaten in four games and not in last place anymore. Andy and Courtney were joined for this episode by Dave, who is really extending his lead in the "most Swan Dive appearances" race. We had a lot to talk abou...

Happy 20th episode! Hard to believe we have already done so many of these. Thanks to everyone who has been with us thus far. Twenty down, many, many more to go. Even better, we get to celebrate 20 episodes by talking about a big draw against reigning champions Gotham FC. In the first of two episodes scheduled for this week, Andy and Courtney are joined by returning guest Cathy to recap the big roa...

We got three points! After a great mid week draw against the Courage, the Legacy picked up all three points against Denver Summit in somewhat dramatic fashion (hello two goals basically in stoppage time?) We were so pumped to record this episode. Andy and Courtney are joined by returning guest and self described Swan Dive Super Fan Brooks to recap the Legacy's big win. We then were joined once aga...

Quick turnaround for us this week, but we were excited to record this next episode because the Legacy got their first point! After weeks of listening to us talk about tough Legacy losses, we finally get to talk about a draw. Andy and Courtney were joined by third time guest Dave (who now holds the record for most Swan Dive guest caps) to review the draw against the North Carolina Courage. The team...

Multiple games in one week means multiple Swan Dive episodes in one week! On today's episode we are joined by Julianne to discuss the encouraging but also so very frustrating loss to the Chicago Stars. The Swan Dive team discusses the good, the bad, and the not quite, but maybe sort of ugly in what was arguably (but not really arguably) the best Legacy performance to date despite the loss and lack...
