The Graveyard Shift Horror Podcast

Fear Street continues by taking us back to the past, and a summer camp experience nobody will forget. More lovable characters and a banging soundtrack keeps our hopes riding high! Our joy is palpable, so enjoy hearing us dishing sugar on this tribute to slashers! We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like to make continued suppo...

We broke tradition with our original theme, and got a movie that does have a dressed up killer but not a trick or treat to be seen. We dig in our heels to see some good movies, after last weeks debacle, so here we go, with a GOOD movie. We take on the Fear Street Trilogy and start in 1994 where the anachronisms flow like water, but we still have a blast. Enjoy our celebration of a fine film! Teena...

We decided to do movies that occur at Halloween, but then after covering this horrible movie, we needed to just recover with a good trilogy afterwards. oh, and it's about a couple that rent some movies from a shitty store, and the movies are shit and the acting is shit, and the ending is shit. enjoy our pain. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme mo...

We end our Back to School marathon with Urban Legend, where the curriculum is Modern Folklore and the homework is murder. This is another 90's slasher filled with sexy people mocking modern tropes while the writers treat physics like suggestion and the internet like magic. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like to make conti...

Class is starting to wear on us as we eagerly await graduation day. what makes the waiting even harder is "The House of Sorority Row" a tepid movie that clearly needed a second draft. This rips off Diabolique and Halloween and Friday the 13th and lacks all their charm and gore. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like to make...

We are joined by Keith Hayes to discuss Battle Royale, where the graduating class of 2000 is not advised to wear sunscreen or dance like nobody is watching, but to be the sole survivor on an island where they will die if they do not kill each other. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like to make continued support to help kee...

We go Back to School, but unfortunately we got caught Cutting Class (1989) and so we have to serve detention with Brad Pitt and Donovan Leitch Jr. unfortunately. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like to make continued support to help keep the show going and get access to bonus perks, you can do so by checking us out at Patr...

Ah September. When parents celebrate the return of school so they can get free babysitting and hopefully make their little spawn a little smarter at the same time. At least the ones that survive the ordeal. Which brings us once again, Back To School. From the Fearleaders to the Class Corpse, it's all a popularity contest and we will be seeing who makes it to graduation over the next month. This we...

We end this month of Fishing Season by sending our crew to the Hadal Zone for some spooky movies and we might have finally hit pay dirt with Leviathan. This has a promising cast and premise so good it was already well received when it was The Thing. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like to make continued support to help kee...

We have not given up our fishing expedition for the month to find the scariest things in the water, as we approach the aphotic zone we are met by a Deep Rising, where it decided to see what lurks in places touched by light and we get exposed to horrible CGI and unlikeable characters. But we emerged with plenty to discuss. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions...

We keep plumbing the deep ocean for Fishing Season of 2025 and have increased the size of our quarry to shark sized menaces . Unfortunately this has Jaws rip-off all over it and is the second worst combination of Vic Morrow and a downed helicopter. and enjoy the sample of the Graveyard Channel ,our patreon exclusive series We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestion...

we cast our line to go fishing for great horrors this summer. Instead we snag our line on this rotted boot wrapped in sargassum. Even Dorf had better luck fishing than this. But it's a movie and we saw it, so you're gonna hear it. Hopefully our luck improves next week. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like to make continued...

We conclude the Summer of Swim 2025 with Night Swim, a perfectly tepid movie that had so much potential to be better which we are happy to expand upon in a perfectly sane and inoffensive matter. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like to make continued support to help keep the show going and get access to bonus perks, you can...

We hit the wall of the Summer of Swim and are on the return lap! After last weeks disasterpiece theatre, we have an actual movie this time that accomplishes some of its goals. Not all, not by a long-shot, but still is quite serviceable with plenty to laugh and joke about. Plus as a BONUS we have a treat in the opening! Not a skit but a sample of this months patreon exclusive series, The Graveyard...

We do another lap around the pool for The Summer of Swim, but someone peed in the pool, then left a deuce in it for good measure. We review Pool Party Massacre, but this is the worst pool party ever and that's before the bodies start to pile up. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like to make continued support to help keep th...

We finally cover the sequel to It after a long while and we manage to deliver a review shorter than the movie! despite its length we do find some dangling plot threads left unsolved, as well as having ideas about Mike's relationship with the native tribe he "borrowed" some relics from. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like...

David Cronenberg decided to make a movie about video games based on a Philip K Dick Novel. So it doesnt really grasp the theme all that well. But its got meat and guts and all the stuff you expect in a Cronenberg movie. So there's that. But we did posit if he did try his hand at game crafting in this weeks skit. So there's also that. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie...

We are joined by Chrissy to discuss a movie that needed a womans voice to properly discuss, since its written by women to discuss the torments of women. This was suggest by Patreon donor Matt, and it was rushed to the front of the line as is the perk of being a sponsor of the podcast! Also we have replaced episode 382 with a review redo of Ready or Not with a skit and new guest, Joshua Clough! do...

We have a lot to celebrate on the show. 400 episodes. That's been hundreds of guests and hundreds of skits and thousands of laughs! We are joined by Joshua in the festivities as we carve up and serve a CLASSIC horror thriller, The Silence of the Lambs. UPDATE: Episode 382, our review of Ready or Not has been replaced with this episodes guest, Joshua Clough, and we have a skit this time. So do your...

Long ago Eric was a co-host on the show and had a list of films that was owed him as suffering for spending a year making reviews with Mike. Today that debt was paid by covering this film. John has better things to do than join in, and you can find out what that is. But also, good news contained within for those who wonder what they would get for supporting the show on patreon, and that's a NEW SE...

What happens when a character who has carried a franchise for over a decade get their well earned send off and absolutely cannot return in any reasonable way? You could create new characters and settings for the xenomorphs to encounter humans. If you are the writers for this movie you can just forgo reason and say "Ripley is back, give us money" We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to s...

We served hard time watching Alien 3 and wondering how the script got like this. Luckily Mike did a trivia hunt and now it makes sense and we gave up our grudge against the director of it. Enjoy us breaking this apart and wondering how this prison functioned before Ripley showed up. We are hosted at Captivate where you can tip us to send us movie suggestions and theme months. If you would like to...
