Sorry for the delay, as other commitments got in the way, but when has this show been about breaking news? Kevin O'Connell will be the next Minnesota Vikings head coach. The Minnesota Vikings are down to two finalists to become the new General Manager, along with some interesting head coaching candidates coming to the surface. It was a weekend of emotion, frustration, joy and anger, but it certainly didn't lack excitement, particularly Sunday. More information emerged about the goings on with Mike Zimmer and Rick Spielman the past few years, it just wasn't good. We review the Wild Card weekend, and preview the Divisional Round! Forgive the strangeness of this show, but with so much going on, including the firing of both GM Rich Spielman and Mike Zimmer, it had to be produced in this fashion. The Minnesota Vikings refused to lose on Sunday, staying as close to .500 as possible, which sums up the direction of this franchise, it's leadership and it's quarterback the last four years, change was and is needed on all levels. In a lifeless effort, regardless if Kirk Cousins was available or not, it changes nothing to the fact that this team needs a clean sweep of it's leadership. We take a call from Tahnae Brown! Something interesting occurred to me in the Vikings loss to Los Angeles on Sunday, could it be that both teams have been playing down to the other's level all season? It sure feels that way. The Minnesota Vikings won in Chicago for back to back seasons, but there was nothing pretty about this ugly game. The Bears, if they played with any control, could have beaten Minnesota easily, but unfortunately for them, they are an absolute mess at the moment. The Minnesota Vikings narrowly averted a historical collapse on Thursday, nearly blowing a 29-0 lead vs the Pittsburgh Steelers. What more is there to say about the future of this coaching staff? What more is there to say? Rip the band-aid off, blow it up and start over. Everything we have been seeing with Zimmer and co all year, was magnified in Detroit. Things felt all too familiar in San Fransisco on Sunday, when the Vikings were beat up physically, and outmatched most of the way, when many would believe the Purple are the better of the two teams Vig It App Referral: Paladinolive Use my referral link for the Crypto.com App: https://crypto.com/app/mt4ysj25P7 to sign up for Crypto.com and we both get $25! facebook.com/purplemafiashow @purplemafias...

Passing down the field? Being the last guy with the ball versus Aaron Rogers? Making the kick at the end? Things certainly have changed, now all we can say is, "keep doing it!" The Minnesota Vikings once again had a significant lead on the road, this time they finally finished the job. Kubiak and Zimmer actually were somewhat aggressive down field, and it paid dividends, as many of us thought it would. Did it have to take nine weeks to get there? No matter how great it looked things would be for the Vikings, of course the tides would turn, as what looked like a team going for a win, quickly reverted back to the familiar try to not lose approach in Baltimore. In another letdown on a holiday, (Halloween) the Vikings found a way to lose to the Dallas Cowboys, with Cooper Rush at quarterback. As the fourth quarter started, with the scored tied 13-13, your host enjoyed a cute little Halloween purple cupcake with a plastic tag that said "Boo!" Little did we know just how perfect that would sum up the next 15 minutes of football for millions of Vikings fan....

The Minnesota Vikings messed around with another team they should have put away much earlier, but with this team, nothing goes without drama. KJ Osborn has come up clutch, time and again for this team on big third downs, but today he added a walk-off winner in overtime! The Vikings won, somehow, against a team that was winless, injury riddled, and as bad in late game situations as us, or perhaps, slightly worse. Without significant changes at the end of the year, few see this team getting any further. It always feels like two steps forward, three steps back, especially three out of the last four years with the Vikings under Zimmer. Time will tell, but it's becoming more than likely that this will be his last year in Minnesota. It took eight tries, but the Vikings finally have beaten Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. It felt like defeating the great sea monster "Leviathan" to be honest. Kirk Cousins is having the year of his life thus far, and he's definitely changed in terms of the "little things" that often left us all wondering why we signed him in the first place. There's a lot more to get to than just the kicker, but is it not alarming how the same thing keeps happening? Zimmer's clock management will one day be his undoing, barring something crazy taking place very soon. The Vikings lost 27-24 in Cincinnati in one of the sloppiest season openers we can remember. The Purple had 10 penalties in the first half, putting them behind the eight ball, which you never want to do on the road regardless the opponent. The NFL season is upon us, and now we have 17 games to keep up with in 2021. The preseason was a mess, but things look to be coming together a little on the offensive line, whereas the defensive line should be among the best in the league. We preview the Vikings upcoming season, then we get into overall NFL predictions, along with conference finalists, and ultimately a Superbowl Champion. We as al...
