Charts & Hearts

We are wrapping up Patrick Dempsey month with the reason for the season – Enchanted ! Join us for a *lot* of gushing which is, frankly, entirely deserved. Join our Patreon:  patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

It’s Patrick Dempsey month! We are kicking things off with 1987’s Can’t Buy Me Love and oh boy was this movie ever made in the 80s. Yikes.

We are wrapping up new movie month with Voicemails For Isabelle! A really great movie that we highly recommend – just as we recommended You’ve Got Mail, the movie it is so obviously based on (complimentary).

It’s new movie month, hurray! We are kicking things off with While You Were Sleeping – I mean You, Me, And Tuscany – no Pullman, no Bullock, no leaning, but at least we’re in Tuscany?

We are wrapping up Classics month with the not so com The Way We Were – we’ve got the famous hair swoop, the famous song and the not so famous weird confusing time jumps that make this plot hard to follow.

It’s classics month here on the pod and thank goodness we’ve got a good one this week. We are talking about Moonstruck – a very good movie featuring an incredible performance from Cher (would you expect anything else?) plus cheekbones for daysssssss.

It’s classics month! Classics as in ‘older movies’ not as in good movies like our first this month, 1957’s Funny Face – which is so screwball and so weird that we are just left wondering how and why.

We are wrapping up action month with The Mummy ! We hadn’t seen it before and there are some issues with the treatment of Egyptians and territory plus you know all of Rachel Weitz revealing outfits but for everyone who highlights this movie for its incredible swoon levels…ya we get it now.

Action month is back hurray! We are kicking things off with what we thought would be a fun, actiony, sexy movie but sadly it’s not really any of those. But at least Kerry Washington is here? It’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

We are wrapping up “we can’t believe we haven’t done this one yet” with one of our favs, Crazy, Stupid, Love. It’s a movie that’s part amazing and great and charming and also part, ew gross, this is the absolute worst. 😐 Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

Welcome to “How have we not done this yet?!” month. Kicking it off with (yes really!) Pretty Woman. A little movie you may have heard of that only kind of shaped the rom com genre as we know it…. (it’s a really good fun discussion, join us!) Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

We are wrapping up Topher Grace month with the wonderful Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! Yes it’s problematic, yes it is focused on the men rather than Kate Bosworth but it’s charming and funny and the supporting cast is INCREDIBLE. Go watch it! Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

It’s Topher Grace month (yes really!) and we kicking things off with the not so rom commy movie, In Good Company. A movie that holds up surprisingly well probably because they just ignore the women instead of demeaning them so…yay? Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

We are wrapping up Julia Stiles month with the very weird very bad Down To You. Sometimes “I’m Hot, You’re Hot, Let’s Be Hot Together” just doesn’t work – who knew?! Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

Don’t wear mascara while using a microscope is one of our takeaways from The Prince and Me. The other one is mostly just…why Julia? You are so much better than this movie! Anyway happy Julia Stiles month! Listen to our 10 Things I Hate About You episode: https://chartsandhearts.com/2022/08/15/10-things-i-hate-about-you/ Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

We are wrapping up our first suggestion month with the very VERY 80’s movie Girls Just Want to Have Fun – and don’t worry, even though the IMDb credits are very oddly ordered a young but large be-haired SJP IS here and she is ready to do some flips.

Next up in suggestion month is a beautiful charming and oops super traumatic South Korean movie – Always (from 2011). We think you should watch it! Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

Happy March! It’s suggestion month here at Charts & Hearts and we are kicking things off with the delightful Wedding Season. Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

We are wrapping up Olympic month with the charming but confusing Breakfast with Scot – so many questions about so many parts of this movie – but everybody loves Canadian ice boys kissing right?! Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

It’s Olympics time (woooo)! And what better way to celebrate than with the original (??) skating and kissing movie – The Cutting Edge. Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

Oh boy. We are wrapping up Manic Pixie Dream Girl month (thank goodness) with (500) Days of Summer. It is A. Lot. We are sorry (but not sorry) for our rage – at least we have JGL’s dimples? We are kicking off 2026 with Manic Pixie Dream Girl month! Wooo, it’s gonna be interesting. We’re starting with the instigator of the term – Elizabethtown and we Get. Into. IT. (plus, how are running shoes designed?? So many questions) Show Notes: -Original article: https://www.avclub.com/the-bataan-death-march-of-whimsy-case-file-1-elizabet-1798210595 -A Kirsten Dunst Character Invented the “Mani...

We are wrapping up another holiday movie month (and another year whaaaaat?) with the incredibly good Last Christmas. Warning – we do spoil this movie AND it gives you a LOT of feelings – plus there are just so many George Michael songs (complimentary). Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub

We’re back with another Christmas movie month and we are kicking things off with the charming Serendipity! A movie where the lead characters are terrible people but everything else is great so its fine??? Join our Patreon: patreon.com/chartsandheartsclub
