Calvary Chapel Johnson County

Today we'll be doing a topical sermon that encourages us with 8 lessons that servants can apply to their lives from Mark 1.

In this message on Galatians 3:1–14, Paul rebukes the Galatians for abandoning the gospel of grace to seek perfection through fleshly works. He demonstrates through Abraham's example that justification comes entirely through faith, noting that the law brings a curse because no one can keep it fully. Ultimately, Christ redeemed believers from that curse by becoming a curse on the cross, ensuring th...

In this message on 2 Thessalonians 3, Paul requests prayer for the spread of the gospel and protection from opposition, while reminding believers of the Lord's faithfulness. He commands the church to address disorderly, idle members who refuse to work, urging them to withdraw from such behavior while still admonishing them lovingly as brothers.

In this message on Galatians 2, Paul fiercely defends the Gospel of grace by recounting his private meetings with Jerusalem leadership and his public rebuke of Peter for hypocritically compromising fellowship with Gentiles. Emphasizing that justification comes exclusively through faith in Jesus Christ and not by the works of the law, the message urges believers to stand firm against legalism and r...

In this teaching on 2 Thessalonians 2:9–17, Paul reassures the believers in Thessalonica—who were shaken by false fears of having missed the rapture—by explaining the future rise and deception of the Antichrist, who will operate with Satan's power and lying wonders. While those who reject the truth and love unrighteousness will fall into strong delusion, believers are reminded of God's sovereign g...

In this message on Galatians 1:11–24, the focus is on Paul’s personal testimony as the ultimate apologetic for the transforming power of God's grace. Rather than leaning on legalism, human tradition, or attempts to earn righteousness through the law, Paul details how the Gospel was directly revealed to him by Jesus Christ—transforming him from a violent persecutor of the church into its most ferve...

This week we are going to see Paul reassure this church that they had not missed the coming of the Lord. We'll also be studying this week some information about the antichrist and who he will be.

This week as we look at the beginning of this letter to the churches in Galatia we will right away see Paul upset with this church as they had begun to follow after another gospel.

This week we'll begin Paul's 2nd letter to this church that he admired so much. He will again commend them for persevering in their faith and growing in their faith even when circumstances were tough. After that he will spend some time reminding this church that one day the Lord will judge.

Tonight we'll begin our study through the book of Galatians by doing a flyover or overview of the book. This will help us set up a foundation of understanding we can build on as we work our way through this book of the Bible.

This week we'll finish the first letter Paul wrote to the church in Thessalonica. Paul will conclude with multiple exhortations for this church that he cared for so deeply.

This week we'll finish our study through the book of Exodus. We'll see that the Israelites were obedient to make everything according to the commands the Lord had given. Moses will then inspect the items and construct and place everything that had been made.

Join us as Rob Young leads us through a study in Nehemiah 9.

Join us this week as Zach Baker leads us through a study in the book of Philippians.

This week we'll be looking at an event called the Day of the Lord. Paul will encourage the church in Thessalonica that they are not appointed unto wrath and that this day will come like a thief in the night.

This week we'll see the people being obedient to God's command to construct the items that were necessary to worship the Lord. We'll also see that the Israelites were given the opportunity to bring a free will offering and so much was given that the leaders had to ask them not to give any more. Certainly where the Lord guides, He provides.

Today in our study we'll be looking at the rapture of the church. The sudden coming of Jesus FOR the church. Paul did not want this church to be ignorant about this event and so he takes some time to lay out a few principles that are attached to it.

This week we'll see that there were big consequences that followed the Israelites as the Lord let them know that they were to go into the promised land but His presence would only be with Moses. We'll see Moses once again intercede and the Lord will respond graciously.

This week we'll see Paul continue to exhort and encourage this church as he lets them know that they should be sexually pure in their lives. He'll also address the need to be more and more holy in their lives.

Tonight as we work our way through Exodus we will see the children of Israel go in the wrong direction as they will begin to engage in idol worship. Aaron will do a poor job of responding to the people of Israel while Moses will show true love and servanthood towards them.

This week we'll continue to see Paul's great concern for the church in Thessalonica as he sent Timothy to them that he might establish and encourage them. When Timothy came back he then gave Paul a great report that this church was moving in the right direction.

This week we'll finish looking at the 40 days and nights that Moses was on the mountain of God. Moses continues to receive instruction about multiple items and we'll see the Lord call and gift specific individuals to construct all that the Lord has shown Moses.

This week Paul and his companions as they write the church in Thessalonica will again give thanks for this church who received, heard, welcomed and believed the good news of Jesus Christ. He will also continue to talk to them about the spiritual battle that takes place not only in his life but also those in Thessalonica and we'll talk about how that applies to all believers.

This week we'll see the process that Aaron and his sons were to go through that would set them apart for service to the Lord and for the people. We'll see many pictures of the work that Jesus does in our lives as He calls us into service in our lives as we study through this.

This morning we'll begin to look at chapter 2 of 1 Thessalonians. Paul will be defending his faith to this church as he speaks of his attitude while he was with them. We'll discuss the difference between a minister with the right heart and a wolf in sheep's clothing.
