Apocalypse Video

After doing three episodes of the RoboPod and having to constantly look over our shoulders to see what crime is going to be perpetrated on us next, we’ve decided to take a brief vacation from the dangerous streets of Old Detroit and take Saturday Morning Apocalypse to Gotham City, where nothing bad ever happens. I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we slap on our utility belts are fellow cartoon...

Parallel Reality movies are hard to come by in the Wasteland, so whenever a rip in space time occurs, or Cross Rift Parcel Service is running deliveries in your area, it behooves one to make sure that they jump on the chance to watch any cinema from a non-post apocalyptic timeline. Unfortunately, for yours truly, I missed out on the multiverse comedy/drama Everything, Everywhere, All at Once that...

Happy Friday the 13th, everybody! I can’t believe I’m saying this, but for once I’m not the one who’s forcing the staff to watch a Jason flick. It appears that my co-host and favorite Shift Lead, Mike, has finally embraced the spirit of the holiday and taken it upon himself to force us into an obligatory screening of a Friday the 13th film. And not just any Friday the 13th – this time, Jason isn’t...

Captain’s Log Stardate: 43745.2 With the unpleasant encounter with the Borg behind us, the Apocalypse Video Trek Cast takes a much needed vacation with Season 3’s Captain’s Holiday . I must admit, I am very interested in discovering the origins of the mysterious Risian Horga’hn – better known on our program as the Risian DTF statue. Here’s hoping we get some light adventure, a few pervy moments wi...

As manager of Apocalypse Video, I’ve had to deal with many things; roaming mutant hordes, nuclear fallout, occasional attacks by ptera-people - but never have I dealt with anything as fiendish and insulting as what I am presented with this week. And from my own employees nonetheless. Despite everything I’ve done for them – a short eighteen hour work day, free mildly radiated popcorn, and a generou...

Valentine’s Day may have been a couple of months ago, but I for one will not rest until I can watch romantic comedies again with my former human friend - now all powerful, all knowing A.I. - Chad. Surely there must be a film out there that will activate Chad’s newly installed emotion chip! Something funny…something late 80s…something…Rob Reinery… I’m your host, Dave, and joining me are fellow cine...

Captain’s Log, Stardate: 42761.3 The Apocalypse Video Trek Cast has returned to Season 2 of Star Trek: The Next Generation , only to find itself again at the whims of the omnipotent trickster: Q, who has hurled us thousands of light years into unknown space. What will we find in this vast, unexplored area of the galaxy? Benevolent creatures who just want to say hello? Or will we find a species of...

A word of advice for anyone practicing dark magic out there…it’s tougher than it looks. Now, I’ll be the first to admit, I may have been hasty in my decision to use the powers of darkness in an attempt to bring Chad back to life – but given that it resulted in us watching an old childhood favorite this week, I can’t complain too much. Aside from the hole in the roof caused by the freak lightning s...

Before Mighty Morphin Power Rangers there was… Super Sentai Zyuranger! I’m your host and Giant Floating Head, Dave, and joining me as we conclude our look back at the weird, wonderful world of Tokusatsu are fellow cinephiles and Great Satan worshipers, Ryan, Cody, and Lord of the Wasteland, Immortan Hoof (aka Nick ). Listen as we discuss a show that contains all of your favorite monsters, includin...

Ahhhhh! After 10,000 years Immortan Hoof is finally running the store, and that can only mean one thing – It’s Morphin Time!!! That’s right, we’re talkin’ about everyone’s favorite kids show from the 90’s: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! And we’re not just talking about one episode, but TWO! Food Fight & Missing Green! I’m your former host, Dave, and joining me as we bow to Immortan Hoof’s diabo...

Happy Valentine’s Day, Wasteland! It’s that special time of the year where you show that you care by making a last minute stop at a Walgreen's to buy some cheap chocolates and a teddy bear for your significant other. It’s also the time where we here at Apocalypse Video throw caution to the wind and screen a potentially terrible rom-com to celebrate the holiday. God help us all… I’m your host, Dave...

Captain’s Log, Stardate: 41365.9 With Star Trek: Generations behind us, we now start the second leg of our 178 part journey into the Final Frontier with Season 1’s 11001001 . I must admit, the thought of having to sit through another Season 1 TNG is nauseating to say the least, but I am confident that the holodeck related storyline will result in the usual sexy shenanigans. I’m your host and Capta...

Thank god for time rifts, or in this case, the Cross Rift Parcel Service, as I am happy to announce that Apocalypse Video has finally gotten its hands on the final Daniel Craig Bond film: No Time to Die . I must also give a big shout out to the Super fan of another podcast that Immortan Hoof ( aka: Nick) and I apparently did in another timeline where we evidently reviewed all twenty five James Bon...

After a long vacation, the Apocalypse Video Podcast is Back…in Action, that is. Yes, thanks to a crappy bootleg from a vendor in Bartertown, an anticipated viewing of the latest Beatles documentary, Get Back , turns into a forced torture session of the 2003 box office bomb, Looney Tunes: Back in Action . I’m your host, Dave, and joining me are fellow cinephiles and people who wish we could be watc...

Merry Christmas, everybody! While we may have already released a Christmas special this week, there’s one listener out there who needed some cheering up… You didn’t think we’d forget about our boy, Chuck, did you? I’m your host, Dave, and joining me on the final Saturday Morning Apocalypse of the year are fellow cartoonphiles and unlicensed psychiatric helpers, Ryan and Nick (aka Immortan Hoof) -...

Christmas is almost here! And you know what that means…TV Specials! And what better way to celebrate a pop culture tradition then by busting out a dusty old videotape and reliving the magic that is the 1987 ABC broadcast of A Muppet Family Christmas ! I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we bask in the warmth of old school toy commercials and Jim Henson goodness are fellow cinephiles and Muppet-...

Captain’s Log, Star Date 48632.4 The Apocalypse Video Trek Cast is about to complete the first leg of its 178 part journey. And it is with great reluctance that I turn over the duties of Captain, albeit temporarily, to Ensign Michael as he prepares for his first assignment as Host of the Podcast – I can only hope that he does not emulate the command style of William T. Riker, lest we crash the sho...

It’s the last day of Hanukkah, and this year Apocalypse Video is ending the holiday Rugrats style, with the season four classic,  Chanukah . I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we learn all about the meanie of Hanukkah are fellow toonephiles and Cynthia fans Ryan, Mike, Jackie, and Nick (aka: Immortan Hoof). Listen as we discuss our own histories with Hanukkah; Mike passionately extols the deli...

They say when you’ve hit one hundred episodes on television that you’ve officially made it - you’re big time. Time to see that syndication money pour in and start living the rest of your life on easy street. While I’m not sure that the same thing applies for podcasting, I can say this: HELL YEAH! 100 EPISODES, BABY! WOO-HOOOOO!!! I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we do a self congratulatory v...

Have you ever gotten mad at a family member for not celebrating your special day? Have you ever gotten too curious and touched a space rock you shouldn’t have touched? Have you ever ingested a large amount of live bugs? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions...you might be a creep. I’m your host and resident creep, Dave, and joining me are fellow cinephiles and people who can hold their b...
