Pastor Sean will be preaching from Genesis 44:1-34. Originally recorded August 7, 2022.

Pastor Sean will be preaching from Genesis 43.  Many times in life we wonder if anything will ever change from the same old same old. This was certainly a question for the mess of the covenant family. While Joseph has been in Egypt for years, not much seems to be different with his father Jacob and his eleven brothers. But as Yahweh’s unstoppable providence continues to unfold, much is about to ch...

Pastor Caleb will be preaching from Genesis  42:1-38. Famine reunites Joseph and his brothers, though the brothers have no idea that the governor of Egypt is the brother they sold into slavery twenty years ago. The fingerprints of God's providence are all over this text as worldwide events bring the brothers together again and the guilt of the past is brought to the surface. Originally recorded Ju...

Pastor Roger preaches from 1 Kings 19:1-18. Originally recorded July 17, 2022.

Pastor Sean will be preaching from Genesis  40:1-23. We’re over a decade along in Joseph’s descent down to the pit, down to Egypt, and down to prison. This continues to be a long, difficult valley in the providence of God. And yet, as Joseph’s journey continues, we see Yahweh supply him with everything needed along every step of the way. This gives us confidence to trust God for ourselves and His...

Pastor Brian will be preaching from Genesis 39:1-23. Originally recorded June 26, 2022.

Pastor Brian will be preaching from  Genesis 38:1-30. In what is a dark passage, and a seemingly out-of-place story of Judah and Tamar, God provides glimmers of good news that should encourage us all. Originally recorded June 19, 2022.

Pastor Kevin will be preaching from  Genesis 37:12 -36  God repeatedly works his plans and purposes of redemption through the perverse plots of people. We see this in the life of Joseph beginning in Genesis 37:12 and ultimately at the cross of Christ where salvation is secured. Furthermore, this pattern reveals what we may expect our own path of redemption will look like. Originally recorded June...

Pastor Caleb preaches from Genesis 35:1-29.  As the Jacob narrative (Genesis 25 - 35) comes to a close, it is evident that Jacob's life has been one of continual turbulence; Jacob has been the cause of his own distress. In Genesis 35 we are pointed to the enduring grace of God - a grace that meets us in our distress and failure. Originally recorded Sunday, May 8, 2022.

Pastor Sean preaches from Genesis 34:1-31.  Like his father Isaac before him, and his grandfather Abraham before him, Jacob’s failures, and the failures of his sons, are utterly repugnant. These are some of the worst moments of Jacob’s life, calling into question how it is that Yahweh could stomach partnering with such flawed individuals. Yet despite the colossal failures of the seed of Abraham, Y...

Dr. Stephen Yuille preaches from Romans 5:8-9. Originally recorded Good Friday, April 15, 2022.

Pastor Sean preaching from Genesis 32:1-32 - Jacob undergoes an extremely significant transformation in Genesis 32. He has to deal with Esau, and by extension, God, as a result of his deception 20 years earlier. He is threatened, fearful, prayerful, wrestles with God alone in the dark, is defeated, and limps away, yet with a new name and God’s blessing at the break of day. Are we prepared for God...

This weekend is our missions conference "Facing a Task Unfinished" and we are pleased to welcome John Denbok, the Executive Director from SIM Canada to preach the Word at our morning worship service. Hear from Genesis 12:1-3; Psalm 67:1-4; Exodus 19:4-6

In the world of music there is a term known as “overture,” which introduces melodies, harmonies, and movements that the audience will hear throughout a performance. As we continue in Genesis, we come to a theological overture in the life of Jacob, a taste of what is to come for those who belong to Yahweh. But is this anthem one that our ears are tuned to? Is Yahweh’s salvation anthem the theme son...

Pastor Sean preaches from Genesis 30:25-31:21. At some point in the life of a Christian, or in the life of a church, God’s people will find themselves looking around in despair or anger at this never ceasing conundrum: wicked people prosper. In this episode in Jacob’s life, after 20 years of woe at the hands of his uncle Laban, we can confidently say that the wicked will not proposer forever. God...

Pastor Sean preaches from Genesis 29:36-30:24. There’s no doubt: this is an ugly portion of Scripture. Really ugly. There is envy, bitterness, anger, rivalry, superstition, and sexual sin. Yet what’s most shocking isn’t the scandalous sin but the stunning grace. Sin abounds here, but grace abounds all the more. Originally recorded Sunday, March 6, 2022.

Pastor Sean shares from Genesis 29:1-35. When we are not at our best and life is at the worst, God is always with us and God is always working. This event in Jacob’s life assures God’s covenant people of this soul settling reality. Originally recorded March 6, 2022.

Pastor Sean preaches from Genesis 28:10-22. In the dark of night, with nothing but a stone for a pillow, between a rock and a hard place, God gives Jacob a beautiful dream of blessed, certain reality. The elements of that dream fill God’s covenant people with hope; the response of Jacob spurs God’s covenant people to worship. Originally recorded February 27, 2022.

Pastor Sean preaches from Genesis 27:41-28:9. In the aftermath of Isaac trying to wrongly give Esau a blessing, Rebekah scheming to make sure this doesn’t happen, Jacob deceiving his blind father, and Esau’s ineffectual tears, we learn about the serious consequences of trying to mess with God’s will. We also learn about the incredible grace of God in the midst of a massive mess. Originally recorde...
