Scripture with the Fathers

In this episode, we begin looking at Genesis in the context of God's creation in the genre in which it is written that of epic poetry. This doesn't mean that it is not true, quite the contrary. Genesis is true, but it must be read in the poetic language in which it is written in order to understand what it is that God is constructing. (That's a hint by the way)

In this episode we continue with reviewing Dei Verbum, the Dogmatic Constitution of the Word of God as given to us from the Second Vatican Council. We explore the continuity of the Church's understanding of Divine Revelation considering Vatican Council I, The Council of Trent and Pius XII Encyclical Humani Generis

Before reading Sacred Scripture, we need to know what the Church says about Sacred Scripture and how we are to read it and receive it. The Church in it's most recent ecumenical council gave us a guide in Dei Verbum.
