Scripture On Creation podcast

Were there other women on earth Cain could have married besides one of his sisters?  Eve's name can help answer the question.  Why did God reject Cain's offering?

More evidence that unfossilized tissue in dinosaur fossils is indeed dinosaur protein.  Using a new laser technique, hemoglobin has been identified in dinosaur soft tissue.

Is the idea that "we'll fly away" at death from the Bible? It actually is; it comes from Psalm 90:10.  However, the New Testament believer is blessed to know much more about the afterlife than did the Old Testament saints.

As Moses reflects on the Lord, he identifies the Lord as the transcendent Creator.  He then "reminds" the Creator that Man is just dust, and cannot bear up under the Lord's scrutiny.

Because we know from the introductory line that this is the prayer of Moses, we have a lot of context surrounding the Psalm that helps us understand it.

This Psalm cites the principle that the One who makes something owns it, (vss 11-12), however, the main theme of the Psalm is a concern that the promises made to king David are not being fulfilled.

The permanency of the foundation of the earth is compared to the promises of God, in particular in Psalm 78, to David.  Some of the promises to David, however, are fulfilled in his Son, Jesus Christ.

Can you reason with a person who believes in a flat earth (and uses the Bible as their authority)?  A student asks about evolutionary proposals claiming to explain how life emerged from non-life.

God is faithful; He is also trustworthy.  Are the courses of the stars in space faithful and trustworthy too? 1st Peter 4:19 refers to God as a "faithful Creator," would we say that about the sun, moon and stars?

The Lord warns the arrogant to cease their boasting.  A common boast in this modern era is that "Science" has explained the origin of the universe without any necessity for God.  We discuss how accurate such claims are, and what the Creator's response might be.

The Psalmist praises the Lord for His power displayed in His wondrous works (miracles).  The Lord warns the arrogant that He who laid the pillars (foundations) of the earth will be the impartial Judge of all.

This Psalm was most likely written during the 400 year "silent period" before John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus Christ's presence on earth.  The Psalmist pleads with the Lord to once again do mighty works as He did in creation.

After a 40 Psalm "silence" related to creation or God being identified as the Creator, Psalm 74 recalls great miracles the Lord performed including His acts in creation. Of special interest is the likely possibility that this Psalm was written over two centuries after Malachi.

The human eye is an extremely complex organ.  Evolutionists claim that because the retina is "backwards" (inverted), the human eye is flawed and this indicates it was not designed by an intelligent Designer.  We consider several reasons showing the need for and superiority of our inverted retina when compared to an everted one which octopi and squid possess.

Lt Commander Luke Scripture describes the abilities of the human spine.  Stability and flexibility required expert design.

Some evolutionists claim that humans have an unsound spine because we evolved from an animal that walked on 4 legs, and as a result we experience back many problems.  We interview an expert on human physiology, Lt. commander Luke Scripture, to get his perspective on the issue.

Building upon the Lord's claim that He created the heavens and the earth, the Creator states He also controls the nations, i.e. the flow of history.  In addition to that "grand" control, He is even involved with Man on an individual level.

Psalm 33:9 is cited by "young earth" creationists as support for the position that the Creator accomplished His work in 6 days as "literally" recorded in Genesis 1.

Evolutionists suggest that our knees are poorly designed (we shouldn't have to endure football injuries; tongue-in-cheek.  And pain in childbirth is another inexplicable flaw.

Dr. Karen describes the fantastic complexity involving tissues and the materials they make during the development of teeth.  An example of "duct tape and lumber scraps"?--definitely not!

Is the human body designed or cobbled together?  Creationists and evolutionists have different explanations and point to different evidences to support their viewpoint.  Dr. Karen Scripture discusses the idea of crowded teeth.

The Creator is in control of the earth.  Descriptions of the power of God displayed in violent storms and earthquakes are reasons to ascribe GLORY to the Lord.  (This program was recorded after the earthquake and subsequent tsunami that devastated Japan in March of 2011.)

This Psalm refers to God founding the earth.  On that basis--as Creator--"the earth is the Lord's."  He determines who may enter His presence, He will come to earth according to His own will.

The testimony of God in the heavens is inescapable.  People on every continent and speakers of every language all "hear" the same declaration--the Creator God is great, and He is glorious!

This well known Psalm of David highlights the biblical truth that God is revealed in two main ways; in creation (especially in the heavenly bodies) and in His Word.  Nowhere on earth can His existence be denied since there is no place where the heavens are not visible.
