582: Strange New Episodes This week, the Regular Joes take a 1st look at 2 episodes from the 3rd season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. While very different in tone the two episodes are both deeply rooted and original series Trek lore. This prompts some next level nerding as the three take a deep dive down the Jeffries tube. The most recent Heritage Hollywood entertainment auction just wrapped u...
581: Superman: Gunn's Speeding Bullet 18.07.2025 1:25:34
Superman, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's comic book creation, has seen numerous incarnations over the last eight decades. The last son of Krypton has been heard on radio, and seen in animation, serials, films, and several TV series. While each is a product of its time, some are clearly hits while others are misses. At long last James Gunn, best known for Guardians of the Galaxy, has his turn at ba...
580: Iron Heartburn 11.07.2025 1:05:58
Few TV series have taken hits as hard as Ironheart on Disney+. Review bombed even before the first episode aired, raged about online by comment bros angered by the notion of (dead) MCU Tony Stark being replaced by a black girl, it hardly stood a chance. The question is, did it deserve one? On the plus side they got it over mercifully quick, six episodes released in just two weeks at least minimize...
579: We're Gonna Need a Bigger DeLorean 04.07.2025 1:28:07
This week, the full complement of Regular Joes, Barry, Brian, Dave, Derryl, and Tod take a moment to recognize two summer blockbusters that have reached milestone anniversaries. Steven Spielberg's Jaws (1975) which is looking pretty good at the half century mark. And Robert Zemeckis' Back to the Future (1985) the film that earned Marty McFly, Doc Brown and the DeLorean (the cyber truck of its era)...
578: Coming Distractions: Summer '25 27.06.2025 1:26:36
For some reason, known only to network and streaming service executives, late spring often seems like a wasteland in the TV landscape, leaving even Tod struggling to find something to watch. In this episode the Regular Joe's catch up on what they've been viewing in recent weeks. As we ease into summer there is hope, along with a pair of high stakes superhero films, on the horizon and they run down...
577: Dancing with Flamethrowers 20.06.2025 1:03:54
This week Dave and Tod went to the ballet. What, you're not buying that? Then let's go with, this week the two of them went to see Ballerina the John Wick spin-off starring Ana de Armas. Which, perhaps not surprisingly, is less a cultural experience and more like watching a John Wick film with a much more attractive, protagonist. If hot women and flamethrowers don't do it for you, they also discus...
576: Boldly Going with Daren Dochterman 13.06.2025 1:37:28

This week the regular Regular Joe's, along with Brian "I know a guy" Mix, travel to Louisville, Kentucky for Wonderfest, the long, running convention for modelers, both amateur and professional. The 35th annual show hosted an amazing range of entries from the basic to the extreme, including more renderings of the Creature from the Black Lagoon than you could count. There was also a broad selection...

573: Hero of the Rebellion 23.05.2025 1:07:12
In 2018 when Disney announced a Star Wars TV series based on the Cassian Andor character from Rogue One (2016) the news was met with a resounding … Really? In 24 episodes, three years of our time, covering five years of his time, we've come to know Cassian Andor better than any other character in the Star Wars cinematic universe. We've seen his triumphs, his failures, and the sometimes meandering...
572: Good And/Or Great 16.05.2025 1:22:26
aka - A long time to watch in a galaxy far, far away … Star Wars (1977) has a runtime of 121 minutes. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), considered by right minded people to be the best of the Star Wars prequels, has a runtime of 136 minutes. Andor the prequel, or perhaps prelude, to Rogue One clocks in at 1212 minutes, or just over 20 hours. This week, with three of four, three episode Andor ar...
571: Thunderbolts Kicks * 09.05.2025 1:30:04
This week, the Regular Joe's take on Marvel's Thunderbolts* or is it the New Avengers? The film which proves 36 installments into a franchise you can still come up with something new and different to do with an odd collective of 2nd tier characters. As Brian Mix is on board, they give him a brief opportunity to express his dissenting opinion about the Last of Us, before the others explain why he i...
570: 2nd Season Samplings 02.05.2025 1:24:25
This week, the Regular Joe's tackle the first trio of episodes from two shows returning for long awaited sophomore seasons. The Last of Us was the surprise hit of 2023. It is the rare video game property that found a life of its own, and proved that zombies weren't actually done to death. The show returns with a gut punch of a second episode, delivering tandem assaults viewers are unlikely to forg...

This week it's the episode no one has been waiting for, as the Regular Joes share their thoughts on Kraven: The Hunter the most recent Spider-Man adjacent film from Sony pictures. The film, which underperformed even Morbius (2022) has left some people thinking, maybe Madame Webb (2024) wasn't as bad as we thought. Actually, It was. On the plus side, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who has suited up as both...

His first starring role Top Secret (1984), fan favorite Willow (1988) and western epic Tombstone (1993). Be advised. Not everything holds up over time. We speak of course of episode 332. Val Kil...
566: Avengers Assemble, and Assemble and … 04.04.2025 1:33:26
This week the Regular Joes, eventually, talk through the recent epic length cast announcement for Avengers Doomsday. Which includes (at a minimum) everyone from the upcoming Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four: First Steps films. Which begs the question, is it possible for a cast announcement to be a spoiler? Hey, we only have to wait fourteen months to find out. Right? Fingers crossed. They also disc...
565: The Electric Bill 28.03.2025 59:34
The Electric State is a "flop." A $275 million failure for Netflix directed by the Russo Brothers who sole talent seems to be directing Marvel films … Unless you a have actually seen it. Because real people place this film a lot higher than its 15% rotten tomatoes critic rating. This week the Regular Joe's unanimously agree, it's quite possible to watch The Electric State. enjoy the characters, th...

It's been nearly 6 years since Avengers Endgame. It's well past time to get the band … or something like the band, back together. This week the Regular Joe's each roll out their suggested roster for the next iteration of Marvel's premiere super team. Think of it like fantasy sports for nerds. As you might expect there's some common ground, but also some radically divergent ideas, as they forge the...
562: Deep Dives 28.02.2025 1:14:04

561: Red HULK, White & Blue 21.02.2025 1:19:22
It's a New World Order. Scratch that, it's a Brave New World, as the fourth Captain America film makes its big screen debut. This time around it's Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) who wields the shield, while still wearing the wings, as if he is not quite sure this gig is gonna last. This delayed, retitled, and much reshot MCU film marks Cap 2.0's first big screen appearance and the follow up to the 20...
560: James Cawley and the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour 14.02.2025 1:46:13
This week, the Regular Joes, all five of them, make the Trek to Ticonderoga. There are two good reasons to visit this small New York town. Fort Ticonderoga is the site of the first American victory in the Revolutionary War, and the site of the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour. Note: only one of these is accessible in winter. Hint, it's the one with phasers and not muskets. While there the Joes i...
