Did we hear from outer space? Or did she just answer the phone after we rang so many times? How reliable is the WOW Signal anyway? It's pretty interesting to think that SOMETHING caused the signal, we just don't know what it means or where it came from or how long ago or anything lol. Outerspace is wild and unknown and I don't personally care to know it because it if wanted to be known...

If you saw a streak of light crash into a nearby hill, would you run toward it? Or gather as many people as possible to #investigate? I will say, I’m impressed the mother whose kids said they saw something crash into the hill thought to gather more people to see what happened, because the more people that can corroborate your story, the more believable it becomes, right? The #flatwoods monster qui...

How much do you know about #Alcatraz or the, for lack of a better word, ICONIC #escape? Do you know how crafty the men who escaped got? How meticulous their plan was? How well rehearsed and planned everything had to be for it to work? Alcatraz is on an island a mile and some change away from any land mass, to have to navigate those freezing waters must have been crazy! Honestly, I think I need to...

A little blue glowing light seems to beckon you across a swamp. Every step you take forward, it appears to push that same amount in a certain direction. So what are you to do but follow it? Will-O-The-Wisps have been part of European #folklore for several generations, with each country coming up with their own lore to explain them. Many even point to #fairy, gnome and even imp involvement. But wha...

Do you consider #werewolves scary? You may not, given their somewhat recent rebrand as teen sensational #monsters , but the #lore behind the werewolf is far more gruesome than you may have thought. Join us as we walk through the possible historical lore behind the concept of werewolves and why they should in fact, be feared (hint: it's an allegory for toxic masculinity!)PHENOMANNOUNCEMENTS: Fo...

Skinwalker Ranch is home to many more entities than just #skinwalkers . #aliens and UFOs, #paranormal poltergeists, eerie cattle experiments and even werewolves (the topic of next week’s episode!) have been spotted here. So what is it about this place that invites all the phenomena to make an appearance? A Phenomena convention of sorts? Whatever the case, the History Channel apparently has a new s...

Statues carved from volcanic tuff (a porous solidified ash) stand tall, even thousands of year later, to guard the island of Rapa Nui, also known as Easter Island. The Rapa Nui Moai ( #easterisland #moai ) are prodigious monuments to high chiefs, known as Ariki, embued with mana to stand guard over the island. As well as something boardering on the #supernatural perhaps? This week we dive into the...

I may lead you astray if you wander too far, but I'll bring your livestock home safely if you leave me bread and salt. Bark for skin, clothes on backwards, and moss and vines for hair. Who am I? The #leshy is to some as real as the very trees in the forest. I personally LOVE this #cryptid (he may in fact be my favorite), because he feels #whimsical and that's honestly all I need in my life...

Dark Matter and Dark Energy, born of the same cosmic cloth but destined to be enemies. Jk idk, one of them holds our galaxy together (#darkmatter) while the other yeets us and everything further away (#darkenergy) so I don’t really know what to make of that other than the fact that it makes no sense but is the only thing we can make of our scientific findings thus far and at some point Jodell deci...

A crying boy in a painting. Surrounded by flames. Yet he always survives. The question is, did he cause the fires or does he just survive them? Or perhaps both? This week we dive into the Crying Boy Paintings! The mysterious fire-proof painting that took 1980s England by storm. Was this another instance of mass hysteria, a super fire-proof paint varnish finish, or a truly haunted painting of a boy...

Have you seen this episode before? It might feel like you have, or maybe you're just experiencing Deja Vu. But I swear this is the first time we're covering it on Phenomena! Is it just a memory glitch or some kind of memory from a previous reincarnation? Or maybe it's just your brain mislabeling a memory as long-term when really it's just short-term? Let us know what you think Deja...

Have you ever heard of a Bunyip? A creature said to snatch its prey, drag them down into the Australian swamps, never to be heard from again. Though noone can agree on its features. Some say it has a beak, others swear it has smooth fur like a seal, or maybe teeth like a jungle cat. The only thing they seem to agree on is the billowing sound it makes across the swamp at night. Either a warning or...

Have you ever heard a familiar voice calling to you from another room, only to realize it couldn’t have been who you thought it was? A disembodied voice somewhere in another room yelling “Hey! Come here!”, but you know the person whose voice it seems to be isn’t home? Today we’re talking about #mimics , the eerie creepy paranormal entity that copies everything about a person except its essence, so...

Y'ALL THE WAY I TRIED TO UPLOAD THIS VIDEO SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL shows the spirit of La Zona Del Silencio is at play. I swear. Here was what I WANTED to upload but couldn't for the last however many hours:Imagine an area that draws literal space to it, an area that makes tech and radio signals go haywire. An area that has oddly large flora & fauna and it's eerily easy to get lo...

For the Season 6 FANomena Episode we go over Nick's crazy encounter with pale ghost children in a Kyoto Shrine in Japan. It's WILD! I've never heard of anyone having an experience like this but if you have, definitely let me know! Also who/what do you think they were? Are there any Japanese kaidan tied to these children?? id you feel that? Someone just poked your shoulder. Wait which side did it come from? Turns out your brain can mix touch signals up pretty easily! Let's dive into Phantom Touch and Phantom Limbs, a phenomenon that involves both ghosts playing tricks on people and a large quantity of limbs lost, leading to an epidemic (so to speak) of Phantom Limb Pain. We packed a lot in this one! This one rea...

Why are #mummies such a staple Halloween costume? Is it because they truly horrified and haunted people for centuries after they saw what remained of mummified bodies? Some might even say, #cursed? Let’s talk about mummy curses! What the history and science says happened and how the #mummycurse made such an impression on people’s minds that there are books, movies and even video games about it (Do...

You’re out on the Great American Plains, the fire is dying down and sunlight is creeping up above the horizon. The song you sang last night by the campfire is being reverberated back to you by some #unknown entity, both near and far at the same time, behind you and in front. You feel something poke your foot and it’s a #jackalope. The totally real very much 100% not fictional animals who roam the...

A manuscript with chapters about things such as Herbal, Astrological, Zodiac, Biological, Pharmaceutical, and Recipes, though no one can decipher the language it's in or what it actually means. The #voynichmanuscript is something that has continued to #confound those who try to #decode it. In fact, it has yet to be decoded and I wonder if it'll get easier or harder as time passes and we ge...

The only thing I thought was bottomless were mimosas at brunch but it turns out many people thought the Devil's Kettle was also #bottomless! With a cavernous hole going down further than 3 stories, who knew the #devilskettle had so many mysteries to hide? Tune in to figure out if we've gotten to the BOTTOM of this (pun intended lol). Have you ever had a strong gut feeling? A strange voice warning against something? Or a straight-up vision of something to come? Premonitions don't just come in vision form, but can actually be sensed in various ways. Many times, people aren't even sure how to describe it other than it being a "feeling", but how do you warn someone of a tragedy when all you have to go in is some...

Can you believe an asteroid almost crashed into the Earth in 1908? An event that flattened trees for miles, with a butterfly-shaped crash site but no crater, it serves as a reminder that the sky can throw fireballs at us whenever it feels like it. How fun. I also can’t get over the sky glowing for days after the event, that seems insane to me and if I saw that, especially in the early 1900s I’d de...

Imagine a woman weeping for your loss, or the loss of you. The #banshee is a strictly #irish #cryptid (as far as I know?) but she brings about somewhat of a comforting presence. She's mysterious, rarely seen, but certainly heard. In fact, some people have reported hearing her wails surround the house before slowly disappearing, as though she served her purpose and then drifts away when finishe...

The Queen Mary, first a luxury cruiser, then a warship with a devastating wake, turned luxury cruiser again. She's got many personalities, but not everyone can outrun a shady past, and the Queen Mary surely has some ghosts to answer for. Join us as we uncover the hauntings that surround the Queen Mary, even as she sits idly docked on the shore of Long Beach. PHENOMANNOUNCEMENTS: Check out @lit...

Satanic Panic is more than just a fun rhyming scheme. It represents a time when very real harm was done to unsuspecting victims, all because conservatives needed someone to blame. But it didn’t just stop when popular media found something else to fixate on. The harm of being associated with something as inflammatory as satanic rituals, however unproven, followed daycare workers in the form of head...
