Marm ni vaat (Gujarati) - Bhagvat Puran - Devi Bhagvat

Having seen the destruction of Daksha's yagna and Daksha vadh, the rishis and gods are afraid of Shiva's anger. They go to Brahamaji who recommends them to go to Shiva and ask for forgiveness. Brahamaji also comes to Kailash (Shiva's abode) and we hear about the wonderful environment there and the stuti by Brhamaji of Shiv. 

Hearing the news of Sati's death, Mahadev Shiv gets furious and sends Virbhadra to destroy Daksha's yagya. Virbhadra also kills Daksh Prajapati. 

With Shiva suggesting she should not go, bound by father's love, Sati still visits the yagna organized by Daksh Prajapati. She is insulted there and then she observes the insult to Lord Shiva (her husband) there. Unable to control her emotions and out of her sheer anger, she immolates herself. 

We hear about Sati asking Shiva's permission to visit Daksha Prajapati's yagna. Shiva explains why she shouldn't go and we discuss the challenge of 'negativity bias' within us. 

In this episode, we hear about the yagna where when Daksha arrives, Brahmaji and Shivji do not stand up and so Daksha gets really irritated with Mahadev and uses foul language and curses Shivji. We hear the story behind that. We also listen to the curses and counter curses that occur in each camp which follows Shivji and Daksha accordingly. 

At this starting episode of the 4th Skandh, we hear about the family tree of Svayambhuv Manu. This sets up the scene for the story of Sati, the daughter of Daksha Prajapati who was married to Mahadev Shankar. 

In this last episode of Skandh 3, we hear how mother Devhuti follows the advice offered by Kapil bhagvan and achieves moksha.

Bhagvan Kapil explains how one should bring themselves to focus on the different body parts of the Lord Vishnu. He mentions that without cleansing of the soul, just trying to focus will not work and most importantly, the process will take its own time. 

In this episode, Bhagvan Kapil explains the prior steps that one needs to take before getting onesel ready for ashtanga yoga. Ashtanga yoga is not just the practice of asanas but a state of being wherein the soul elevates its status to connect with the brahmapada.

When asked by mother Devhuti, Kapilji explains the basics of Sankhya yoga and also explains who is a Sadhu and what are their traits. 

In this episode, we hear about the birth of Kapil ji, who is a svarupa of Sri Hari. He is destined to create the Sankhya yoga. 

We hear about the life of Kadarma and Devhuti in this episode. On the request of Devhuti, Kadarma creates a plane with all facilities. They enjoy the life and Devhuti gives birth to nine girls. As the Rishi Kadarma decides to leave Grihasthashram and start his life as a sanyasi, Devhuti asks for a favour. 

We hear about the marriage of Prajapati Kadarma and Princess Devhuti. We also hear about the types of marriages. 

Prajapati Kadarmaji is directed by Lord Brahma to observe the Gruhasthashram. So, Kadarmaji does tapasya and Shri Hari tells him of his future. The lord tells Kadarm rishi that Svaymabhuv Manu, his wife Shatarupa and their daughter Devhuti will visit him in 2 days time and he will be marrying her and leads a life of grihastha for a while. 

In this episode, we hear how Lord Bramha created asuras, dev, and manu based on his different mood and attitudes. We also hear how each of these can be observed within us based on our attitudes. 

We hear the great battle between the rakshash Hiranyaksh and how the Lord killed Hiranyaksha using his sudarshan chakra. 

We talk about the war between the Varah avatar and Hiranyaksha. Both use guile and strength to fight.

The twins born of Diti grow and the world starts feeling the negative energy. Hiranyakashyapu and Hiranyakash start terrorising the world and so Varundev (the lord of the wind) tells Hiranyaksh to challenge Lord Vishnu.

The sages ask the Lord Vishnu about what he wishes to do with Jay and Vijay and the Lord tells them that they will have to repent for their deeds. The leadership lessons are quite important here.
