"Although playing a lot more digital nowadays, I switched back to nearly „vinyl only“ for this mix. My first intention was to make a moody driving house mix that fits the cold and dark time of the year but that got out of control after about 20 minutes. so there it is my pumping bumpy tech house mix, plunging in the same trancy ambiance, from which it emerged." Tracklist: Track and Trace - Brighte...

Pulling strings kick their label off with a heartfelt bang with their 4 track VA EP. One third of Plus One's and an eclectic and excellent selector, Tom Vandeleur steps in for the 221st edition of our Mantissa Mix series. @vandeleur

"Méchant Charles is a french producer and singersongwritter. Tired of doing things how he’s been asked to do, Méchant is a bit disgusted by clean tracks, he’s a big fan of the « too much » and the « cheezy ». Méchant Charles mixes only mp3s, even sometimes when he’s too high, he hits the sync button, yeah and so what?!? After producing loads of techno, he’s actually working on his first electro/po...

"The inspiration for this mix I found in an idea of making a small journey through trance music. I fell in love with this kind of vibe long time ago, and from that moment it has very special place in my heart. The mix itself is energetic, dynamic and powerful and will definitely take you for a ride" @iva_arifaj

"I've recently had the pleasure of playing quite a few nice gigs and also have a few lined up so the mix was basically a product of me going through the selections of the recent / soon to come shows and playing the "other" tracks from these records. Other meaning, well, there is always that one track that comes to your mind when you see the record, the track you pack the record for, that track you...

"The best mixes for me feel personal, so if there was something to take away from this mix it’s that I want you to feel like you’ve gotten to know me a bit. It’s a journey mix that just sort of explores my mind and emotions of late. I made it fully in Ableton because it’s easier for me to deal with all the vocals that way, you’ll hear my voice weaving in and out at times acting as the narrator. Th...

PEOPLE OF EDEN "I initially titled this mix Roots ( I always name my mixes lol ). Then I changed it two more times before finally settling on People of Eden. It is purely inspired by African dance music. I wanted to tell a story with African inspired dance music, capturing various rhythms, languages & cultures across the black continent. Sounds from the West through to Southern Africa. The final t...

Bringing in number 213 for the series is Montreal based Gene Tellem! "Thank you to Mantissa for inviting me on the series! This is a small collection of tunes that lit me up in the past few months. I got new music coming soon to you, but we got time for a dance in the meantime. " https://soundcloud.com/genetellem

"I took a different approach to recording this mix. I often get really tech and nerdy. I mix quickly and over utilise hot cues, loops and pad FX. On this occasion I let the music breath, I played almost every track in full mixing more towards the end of the track. For the past year or so, I have really been thinking about the music I really connected with 10 years prior. Around 2010 and 2011, I wa...

"The mix was originally called “Les sirènes de Waldeck-Rousseau”. In french, "sirènes" mean mermaids so that looks fairy in first place but they can also be related to the police sirens and these have nothing to do with magic. Da:mu from the Öz crew - based in Nantes, France - recorded that mix after a few days suffering from the police demonstration around his place, Waldeck-Rousseau. During that...

Mantissa has beautifully filled a club shaped hole in my heart for the past year and a bit, this mix is comprised with a number of tracks which have helped me and my mental health throughout this infinitely tricky period.

Continuing our mini residents series celebrating 4 years of Mixer we have co-founder Jambo! Thank you to all the amazing artists that have helped and contributed to our...
