Highly Suspect Reviews

BUFFET INFINITY MOVIE REVIEW Welcome to Westridge County, Alberta, where the lawyers are awkward, the pawn shops have jingles, the local businesses are barely hanging on, and a suspiciously cheap all-you-can-eat restaurant may be devouring considerably more than its endless supply of food. Buffet Infinity tells its entire story through a stream of gloriously terrible […]

COYOTE VS. ACME MOVIE REVIEW Originally scheduled for a summer 2023 release, Coyote Vs. Acme became something of a cause célèbre when Warner Bros announced they were shelving the film as part of a $30M tax write-off. The backlash from filmmakers and fans alike was swift, and eventually, Warner Bros relented. They agreed that the […]

THE OBSESSED MOVIE REVIEW “Are you in love with that girl?”, “No sir, I’m just very obsessed with her!”. Giuseppe loves the things he loves. Whenever something grabs his interest, he throws everything else away and devotes his life to his new passion. From singing and collecting bugs to the oddly specific hobby of “throwing […]

THE RIVALS OF AMZIAH KING MOVIE REVIEW Every generation have a few actors that become icons. Sometimes it’s sheerly because of their skill at the craft. Sometimes it’s because they’ve just got that ‘je ne sais quoi’ that makes them stand apart. Sometimes, they’re just Matthew McConaughey, and you can already just hear that voice […]

THE END OF OAK STREET MOVIE REVIEW Is it odd that director David Robert Mitchell, rightfully celebrated for his films The Myth of the American Sleepover (2010) and It Follows (2014) hasn’t made a film since his severely underrated 2018 film Under The Silver Lake? Yes. Is it even weirder that when you look at […]

THE WRONG GIRLS MOVIE REVIEW I definitely did not have on my scorecard for 2026, NEON releases a stoner superhero movie with Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat. But here we are. The Wrong Girls follows these two (Frankie and Molly respectively) who are best friends, roommates, bombed out stoners, and total losers. Rent and bills […]

ONE NIGHT ONLY MOVIE REVIEW Filing under the ‘we are running out of ideas for this genre’ department, in One Night Only the premise is that a conservative government has outlawed premarital sex. CAPE FEAR SERIES REVIEW Based on John D. MacDonald’s 1957 novel The Executioners, and later adapted for the big screen in 1962 and 1991, Cape Fear introduced audiences to one of cinema’s most memorable monsters, Max Cady, a vengeful ex-con terrorizing the innocent Bowden family. Both the source novel and the original film were lean […]

TONY MOVIE REVIEW Everybody knows Anthony Bourdain, probably the best known celebrity chef of the late 20th/early 21st century. Whether it was from his amazing books, like the must-read Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly or one of his shows about travel and food, Bourdain was universally appreciated…except perhaps by people around him in […]

LITTLE BROTHER MOVIE REVIEW Everyone has that one person who mistakes “You’re welcome anytime” for a legally binding contract. Little Brother joins the “proud” tradition of unwanted-guest comedies like What About Bob? and Jack & Jill, as a successful real estate agent’s carefully curated life is turned upside down when the eccentric “little brother” from […]

THE DINK MOVIE REVIEW John McEnroe once said “I’m not a convert to pickleball, I think it sucks”. Pickleball is a very simple activity that’s a lot like badminton, paddle ball, and table tennis on a smaller court and is much easier on the muscles and joints. Apple Plus’ new sports comedy about the sport […]

THE ODYSSEY MOVIE REVIEW Director Christopher Nolan has become one of the biggest ‘event’ directors of his generation. Pretty much no matter what he’s helming, he’ll get exactly the cast he wants, the budget he wants, people will pre-buy tickets for the first few weeks, and it will be showered in awards. I mean, how […]
