Luke 5:5 5 And Simon (Peter) answered, Master, we toiled all night [exhaustingly] and caught nothing [in our nets]. But on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again]. Jesus sees our striving and exhaustion that are the result of self-effort.  The Lord’s lovingkindness was way more than anything Peter and his partners could imagine!       Peter made the choice to receive Jesus at His wo...

Colossians 2:6 6 As you have therefore received Christ, [even] Jesus the Lord, [so] walk (regulate your lives and conduct yourselves) in union with and conformity to Him. King David was not perfect but he was repentant, had a heart after God and finished strong!  King Solomon started strong, lived strong, had greatest wisdom, greatest riches, greatest success when his heart was after God.  Sensuality and foreign women turned his heart away from God to worship idols.   He ended up in destruction and defeat, his kingdom divided. Proverbs 3:5 5 Lean on, trust in, and...

Rehoboam – the “people’s choice”; God’s choice is based on your heart.   2 Chronicles 12:1 But when Rehoboam was firmly established and strong, he abandoned the Law of the Lord, and all Israel followed him in this sin. Success is a great temptation – Rehoboam forsook the Lord and all the people followed.  There are more people following you than you know! Proverbs 3:5 5 Lean on, trust in, and be c...

Uzziah – My Strength is Jehovah 2 Chronicles 26:5 5 Uzziah sought God during the days of Zechariah, who taught him to fear God. God’s promises reveal His will and heart’s desire for us.  New Testament says the promises of God are yes and amen to us.  God wants to be believed, He wants us to trust Him for what man says is impossible.  He is our more than enough supply - Amen! 2 Corinthians 1:20 20 For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen...

What He Says + What He Does = Who He Is.  Focus on God in His Word; seek Him until you see Him. James 2:17-18 (NLT) 17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. 18 Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” Let Holy Spirit complete the journey of faith to action. Don’t quit – if we don’t quit,...
