First Church, OK

The church is God’s instrument to change the world. The missional reach of First Church extends well beyond The 918. It crosses international borders and reaches people in some of the most difficult situations on Earth. On November 27, Beyond Sunday will highlight and celebrate what God is doing through local and global missions partners and the members of First Church.

God sees beauty in brokenness. Jesus came to the earth and went to the cross because God refused to give up on His people. Our lives have been corrupted by sin, but Jesus offers us immediate new life in Him. When we follow the example of Jesus, we learn how to live a life that’s been “reclaimed” by God for His amazing purposes.

The church is Jesus’ chosen instrument to take to the world what He accomplished on the cross. First Church, this is our moment to join the Unstoppable mission of Jesus. Let’s not waste the Momentum that’s brought us to this point in history. Now isn’t the time for us to retreat but to show our culture the work and power of our Unstoppable God.

The church isn’t a building, a piece of property, or a campus. It isn’t a country club, a social clique, or merely a cultural tradition. The church is a community of people who share God’s heart, a community who loves Jesus and loves like Jesus daily. During our “We are First Church” sermon series, we’ll discuss what it looks like to partner with God’s mission for First Church and unleash a revolu...

We all have songs we like to listen to over and over again. Our favorite songs make up a playlist that help us through different life seasons. The Bible contains a mixtape of various spiritual songs that give us guidance for daily life and help us know and trust God more deeply. We call it the Book of Psalms. In our summer series, “Mixtape,” we’re going to study some of these divinely-inspired son...

Proverbs 14:12 reveals: “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death.” The path that appears right to many is not necessarily the path God wants us to take.
