148 - Blundersome at Barnsley and Clive Tyldesley Interview 31.01.2022

Forthright views and frank opinion as 1,000 Bournemouth fans travelled up to Barnsley to watch Bournemouth edge out the Tykes in a less than convincing win at Oakwell against the league's bottom side. The Cherries made hard work of it on this away day, but an early Philip Billing header after a goalkeeping mishap ensured the away side emerged victors and could take advantage of some results that w...

147 - The Tiger Who Came... For THREE! 24.01.2022

At one point this season, Bournemouth were NINE points clear of the team in third, yet now, we are three points behind the team in second. It's all a bit tense, so let’s come together, breathe, and talk… so, to talk Tigers it’s Sam, Tom and Tigz. This season has been dubbed the poorest in terms of Championship quality. On paper, we should be streets ahead, in reality, we’re just one of many teams...

146 - A Kenilworth Calamity 17.01.2022

We take a comprehensive dissecting of Saturday lunchtime’s 3-2 defeat at the hands of Luton Town with Sam Davis, Tom Jordan, Jeff Hayward, plus your thoughts after the game too! It was a last minute goal from the Hatters that secured the points at Kenilworth Road and it was a sickener to say the least. In the first half Cherries were outfought and didn’t lay a glove on Luton or look bothered by it...

145 - Half Season Player Grading Report 10.01.2022

With AFC Bournemouth more than half way through the season, it's time to do our analysis of the Cherries players who impressed, and also those that digressed - in our regular Player Gradings tier list! Tom Jordan and Sam Davis are at the Pear at Parley where we placed all players who have had a significant amount of minutes into one of six categories: The Absolute Don Baller Solid Shift Room For I...

144 - Press Pass: The Season So Far 03.01.2022

After Saturday's turgid performance at Middlesbrough, Jacob Tanswell from Dorset Live joins Tigz, Tom and Jeff to mull over the sorry showing at the Riverside as Bournemouth fell to a frustrating 1-0 defeat. There's lots to discuss, not least - a major worry about Cherries recent showings, and mutual cogitation over how Scott Parker can arrest this decline in form. The loss at Boro initially looke...

143 - Where Is It All Going Wrong? 21.12.2021

142 - Rovers Return... With Three Points 14.12.2021

A resurgent Blackburn Rovers came to Dean Court full of confidence after their incredible run of games, and they continued that form thanks to a goal either side of half time. Indeed, a dispirited AFC Bournemouth failed to make inroads against a well drilled and well-organised Tony Mowbray team - and this left the Cherries just three points clear of third - ouch! Sam, Jeff, Tigz, Tom, and Neil get...

141 - Five Seconds In Fulham 07.12.2021

Fulham was always going to be a tough game wasn’t it? Form, momentum, injuries - everything seemed to dictate a home win, but despite the confidence from the home side, it was Cherries that stole a march on their rivals with a superb set-piece routine from the second half restart, but frustratingly, Tosin's late header ensured the top two shared a point. In this pod, Sam and Tigz return to dissect...

140 - Two from Nine? Eek! 29.11.2021

Cherries form recently hasn't been the best. With a loss at Derby, followed by a couple of frustrating draws where we've let the lead slip on both occasions, Boscombe are showing a vulnerability to their game which other teams are exploiting. Do a couple of injuries really upset the applecart that much? Apparently so! On this pod we take in some raw reaction from recent matches. Firstly, Sam Davis...

139 - Bounce-back-ability? Check! 08.11.2021

After Cherries suffered their first defeat of the season on Wednesday night against a stubborn and clinical Preston North End, all eyes were on the visit of Swansea on Saturday - with a reaction needed against a team that often provide us with a stiff test both home and away. In the weekend, the Lilywhites won 2-1, thanks to goals from Ben Whiteman and Ali McCann, which sandwiched a Philip Billing...

138 - Insert Biscuitmen Crumbling Pun Here... 02.11.2021

Cherries carried on their unbeaten run at the weekend with Reading being the latest victim after a 2-0 win at the Madejski Stadium, one which had punmasters across the South scrabbling for Royals and Biscuit related jokes to jazz up their otherwise formulaic articles - Bournemouth start slow, Bournemouth get a foothold in the game, Bournemouth win the game... Join Sam Davis, Tom Jordan, Neil Dawso...

137 - Terrible Terriers Dom-inated at Dean Court 26.10.2021

This weekend, Boscombe comprehensively took apart Huddersfield 3-0 at Dean Court, and as a result, Cherries sit atop the Championship, with a five point gap over Fulham. Bournemouth put in a shift, and Scott Parker’s class of 2021 have now equalled a long-standing club record as Dominic Solanke’s first-half double provided the springboard for a 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town. Victory, cemented by...

136 - A Cold & Rainy Tuesday Night In Stoke 20.10.2021

Sam Davis and Jeff Hayward spend just under an hour looking at two very different performances over the last few days as AFC Bournemouth gained maximum points from our trips to Bristol City and Stoke City. This includes a certain hat-tip to a reporter of the latter club, whose report on the game - it's fair to say - won't win any literary awards! Don’t let the result fool you, AFC Bournemouth abso...

135 - The Goalscorer's Dad 11.10.2021

In our last league game, Bournemouth overcame a deficit for the first time this season as Solanke and Billing netted inside three minutes to ensure that Boscombe go top of the table at a rain-soaked Dean Court against Sheffield United. Fans were nervously optimistic despite the bore-draw against Peterborough, and in the pub beforehand, 2-1 seemed to be the fashionable scoreline. True to form, Bour...

134 - Hatters and Handbrakes 27.09.2021

Bournemouth survived a second-half fightback to defeat Luton Town 2-1 to return to the Championship summit, so in this pod, Sam Davis and Mr Tigz get together to chat over the weekend's antics - as resilience and steadfastness were once again key to retaining the top spot! As has happened in recent home contests against Blackpool and QPR, Cherries took a comfortable-looking 2-0 lead into half-time...

133 - Iechyd Da - We're Top Of The League! 20.09.2021

The match against the Bluebirds at the Cardiff City Stadium was always going to pose a unique challenge For The Cherries, not least because the majority of their side were over 6ft - but enough of that tall story, because a Mick McCarthy side is always going to well drilled, work hard, and they’ll also be dogged. So to be able to get three points of the Welsh side would be massive, and whilst most...

132 - Plenty To Like As Tykes Out-Psyched 13.09.2021

After a number of draws, AFC Bournemouth got back to winning ways at the weekend - as they managed to wrecked the Tykes - psyche, in an accomplished display of control, flair, and hunger. The 3-0 dispatching of Barnsley was one of those performance that you could purr at - indeed, it was purr-fect. If we were to be picky we’d probably be recording this suggesting that we should have won 10-0, but...

131 - To Hull And Back 30.08.2021

A chance to analyse the weekend's 0-0 at the MKM Stadium in Hull as AFC Bournemouth failed to display their attacking prowess, and instead, took part in a rather mind-numbing match against a side who were well organised, but equally impotent. It was a "Hull" of a journey as Boscombe fans traveled in their numbers up to East Riding of Yorkshire to face the Tigers - where we hoped that we would be a...

130 - Boscombe Shock As Blackpool Rock 23.08.2021

Despite a mesmeric first half against our Seaside rivals on Saturday, Bournemouth were made to pay for a lacklustre second 45 as Blackpool clawed a draw from the jaws of defeat in a three minute spell which saw them take advantage of two moments of poor defending. In this podcast, Sam Davis speaks to Tom Jordan as they dissect the full game at Dean Court - how are they feeling? What's the immediat...

129 - Tricky Trees Felled 16.08.2021

Sam Davis is joined by Tom Jordan and Neil Dawson as they dissect Saturday's encounter at the City Ground in Nottingham where the Cherries overcame Forest in a tense 2-1 victory. AFC Bournemouth sported the green kit and left the Tricky Trees in trouble as ten-man Cherries ground out the win to secure our first win of the season thanks to strikes either side of the half from Brooks and Billing! Th...

128 - Bagging A Draw 09.08.2021

The 2021/22 season started at home, with all of the world able to watch our curtain-raiser against West Brom, a match which obviously Sky thought could be tasty - two sides with new managers, two sides with different reasons for being exasperated at the end of last season, plus, with both teams driven and determined as ever to get back to the big time - what could be better? In this podcast Sam Da...

127 - The Benefit of Hindsight 10.06.2021

This week, Kris Temple from BBC Radio Solent released a chat with Bournemouth Chairman Jeff Mostyn, the first time he has chatted at length for four years. Mostyn sounded re-energised, he sounded motivated, and he didn’t sound fearful about the club’s future. Some fans are still asking questions, yet some are content - and in this podcast, we chat over what we learned from the Chairman’s chat in t...

126 - Play-Off Post-Mortem 24.05.2021

So then, another season in the Championship! Last season, we were disappointed with being relegated from the Premier League, but we were perversely excited to experience the Nottingham Forest away, trips to antiquated but brilliant stadiums like Kenilworth Road, London away days on the train, mammoth northern trips, and even booze-fuelled trips across the Severn Bridge - and of course, no VAR. Did...

125 - Squeaky Bum Time 19.05.2021

It was very much a nerve jangling time at Dean Court on Monday, but the win against Brentford showed a lot of desire, a lot of discipline, and even at times a little bit of swagger - so with the hoodoo against Brentford broken, will it stay broken? Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Tom, Jordan and Neil Dawson discuss events at Dean Court. We of course are all hoping that it is not a false dawn, as there is...

124 - Are We "Derren Brown-ing" Them? 09.05.2021

AFC Bournemouth limped over the finish line against Stoke City in a display which has single-handedly managed to erode any optimism ahead of a Play-Off Semi-Final against an in-form Brentford. On this show, Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Mr Tigz and Neil Dawson dissect the game with vigour and determination - well, *someone* had to put in a shift this weekend. Last week after Wycombe, Woodgate was almos...
