Mir Taqi Mir - Dikhai diye yun 17.07.2020 1:51
There's a reason why Mir is called Khuda e sukhan or the God of Poetry. His words are bound, not by syntax, but magic. Here we have one of his most famous ghazals, that has also been sung by numerous artists. The part I have used is by Lata Mangeshkar from the 1982 movie Bazaar.
Siraj Aurangabadi - Khabar e Tahayyur 16.07.2020 3:08
One of the most famous sufi ghazals of the classical era. Performed by many artists like Abida Parveen and Ali Sethi.
Jaun Elia - Naya ek rishta 14.07.2020 1:03
Jaun Elia is what I now call pop poetry. He's become immensely popular. Sometimes for the wrong reasons. His poetry is not easy. But it is very very relatable in this dystopian world. Presenting a Ghazal of his, with the very motif he is famous for.
Asrar ul haq *Majaz* - Izn e khiraam lete hue 11.07.2020 1:53
One of the icons of romantic and progressive Urdu poetry.
Iftikhar Arif - Khwab ki tarah 11.07.2020 0:54
One of the more poignant and skillful poets of our time.
Firaq Gorakhpuri - Sar me sauda bhi nahi 09.07.2020 1:57
Firaq Gorakhpuri is one of the most romantic modern Urdu poets. A contemporary of Faiz, Faraz and Jigar, he is known for the romanticism that is the soul of his poetry.
Sahir Ludhianvi - Chalo ek baar phir se ajnabi ban jayen hum dono 09.07.2020 0:59
Sahir is one of the master poets, not only of the ghazal but also the nazm. I'm sure you'll enjoy this beautiful poem about how one's sometimes forced to end relationships.
Masroor Anwar - Mujhe tum nazar se gira to rahe ho 06.07.2020 1:00
This famous song/nazm was sung by Mehdi Hasan and then by many subsequent artists, including Ali Zafaf, which is my favourite. Do you like my work? Lend me a hand @ www.buymeacoffee.com/urdudaan
