When David was under pressure, he wrote a song about dwelling in the house of the Lord. His praises gave Him courage. Even most Christians underestimate the power of corporate worship, seeing it as a good thing, but optional. But it’s only those who “offer sacrifices with shouts of joy” who can say, “whom shall I fear?”

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. We rarely use this term “the fear of the Lord” today, yet it is all through the Scriptures. What does it mean? And how does it lead us away from fear-based decision-making and toward peace?
