The Steel Cage

I dedicated a good portion of this show reflecting on the life and contributions of someone I spent more than 10yrs listening to; and would spend another 10 were he still with us. Podcasting will never be the same without Kev Castle, R.I.P. my friend. Buddy Lee runs down the cards, as WWE has released the night for each match, for WM 41 nights 1 & 2. I take a look at the full lin-up for the HO...

"CM Punk Gets To Main Event Mania...Night One"                                                                               A packed episode as Buddy Lee has two weeks of news and goings on to catch up on. The wrestling world lost one of the great voices of yesteryear as I remember the life of World Class commentator/announcer Bill Mercer. An interesting discussion comparing announcing from the 8...

Buddy Lee opens with a complete review of the Elimination Chamber. I have plenty of thoughts on who's going to WrestleMania and the John Cena heel turn. We then look back at the lives of some celebrities we recently lost: Gene Hackman, Roberta Flack and Michelle Trachtenberg. I then discuss the highlights of RAW and SD from the past two weeks. Several notable title changes, an excellent steel cage...

Buddy Lee offers his thoughts on who wins at the Elimination Chamber in what seems to be a moderately predictable PLE. A rundown of the weeks action on RAW and SD; one show did very little to garner interest in the Chamber while the other went out of its way to pique interest. I will return one week from Sun. on March 9, 2025 for the next installment of the Steel Cage. Enjoy!

News broke on Thursday that The Rock would be returning on Smackdown and as I figured he'd want to confront WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. However, he did not ask for what I thought he would. What does he want? Cody's soul. What does this mean? Buddy Lee is as confused as you, but I try my best to break it all down and decipher a meaning. I also talk this year's Hall of Fame class and who's confirmed,...

I open up this week paying tribute to "Mr. Baseball" Bob Uecker and Colonel DeBeers. Tammy Sytch (Sunny) wrote a letter to the judge presiding over her case, Buddy Lee has all the details, the decision rendered and thoughts on the whole thing. I offer my coments on the Samatha Irvin story and her leaving WWE. WWE and AEW both release talent (WWE more so); for the most part it looks like a talent s...

Buddy Lee is back (and better than ever) after a longer than anticipated sabbatical. I have a full update on my hand surgery and what the surgeon had to say post-op. I usher in a New Year with a new episode of The Steel Cage. First, sadly, Buddy Lee pays tribute to several notable names who passed away in late 2024 including former President Jimmy Carter. I then give thoughts on several wrestling...

This is a special episode of the show as Buddy Lee deals with a surgical issue. He explains during the show. Also talks about some current news stories in WWE. Predictions for Bad Blood also included. I plan to be back in action for the Oct. 13 episode.

Buddy Lee has all the updates and previews for Bash In Berlin to be held at the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany. I give my precitions on all the match outcomes; I couldn't do much worse than I did for Summer Slam (only 3 right out of 7). Great discussion on the RAW and SD "go home" shows this week leading to the Bash. Sadly, before I delve into all of that I remember the lives of Sid Eudy (better kn...

Buddy Lee remembers the lives of "Wild Samoan" Afa and "Tasmaster" Kevin Sullivan who passed away one week apart. I discuss the legal issues facing Logan Paul and whether this is why he dropped the U.S. Title at Summer Slam. I give my thoughts on a pretty good Summer Slam and the Roman Reigns return. The implosion of the Judgment Day and what lies ahead for the faction. The highlights of the last...

Buddy Lee gives his picks for Summer Slam.

Buddy Lee discusses the exits of MVP and Bobby Lashley from WWE and why it doesn't have to be this way. What WWE could do to keep them and the roles they could fill. I have a lot of thoughts on the recent turn of events in the 2024 Presidential election regarding Harris, Trump and Biden. A run-down of Summer Slam card as it stands and the match that should Main Event the show...and it's not the WW...

Buddy Lee is back after a "Staycation" the week before and plays a little catch-up with wrestling as well as current events. Sadly, I had to open remembering the lives of six celebrities who passed away seemingly like dominoes. M.I.T.B. is the first piece of WWE business as I review, to me, the most lackluster PPV/PLE thus far in 2024. Why I feel it was necessary for Drew to lose the briefcase so...

Buddy Lee gets you all set for Money In the Bank withhis preview and predictions. Before that, I remember the life of Roman Reigns's father, Sika. One half of perhaps the greatest tag team of all time, with his brother Afa, The Wild Samoans. I look at the last two weeks of RAW and SD mostly relative to M.I.T.B. Lots of interesting discussion leading into the PLE.

I start with a review for an average Clash At the Castle in Glasgow. Buddy Lee sees logic from both sides in Ricochet leaving WWE and explains why. Drew McIntyre supposedly "quits" on RAW and the IWC (mostly AEW diehards) are all abuzz. The Wyatt Sicks debuts and makes a big splash. Speaking of debuts, Jacob Fatu finally appears on SmackDown and makes a few waves of his own. I discuss in detail a...

I give my thoughts and predictions for this year's Clash At The Castle. A seemingly predictable card, at least on paper. Buddy Lee also discusses federal officials asking Janel Grant's attorneys to temporarily cease on proceeedings vs Vince McMahon. What this could mean. I have thoughts on the Ricky Steamboat biographyand several things I didn't know. Lots of RAW and SD discussion.

Buddy Lee is back with a special double episode after being a little under the weather a week ago. First I give my thoughts and review King/Queen of the ring from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I was certainly and pleasantly surprised by how lively the crowd was. Will anything come of the funky finish to Gunther/Orton?, my reaction to Triple H's response and why it was the right answer. I have two weeks of...

Buddy Lee gives his thoughts on another very simple, predictable WWE PLE: King & Queen of the Ring. With WWE in front of yet another international audience and at least two more to come before Summer is out, I wonder about the state of said crowds. Buddy lee has an interseting discussion on whether or not, using social media, if these international audiences could be trying to outdo each other...

Buddy Lee has really enjoyed the KIng/Queen tournaments this year and his primary discussion focuses on it. Injury updates on Asuka and several others as WWE is bitten by the injury bug. I close out with thoughts on "Black Saturday", season finale for D.S.O.T.R..

Buddy Lee gives his thoughts and predictions for Backlash. I give my honest assessment of the 2024 WWE draft. Some discussion on the go home shows for Backlash and I close out with thoughts on this week's D.S.O.T.R. The Sandman.

Rhea Ripley is forced to relinquish her title and one week later WWE hot-shots it on to Becky Lynch. I'll talk about why it was the right move to make; although it's not what I would have done. Dominik joins Mami on the injured list; Buddy Lee sheds light on the severity of each and how much time they'll likely miss. WWE releases several names, I have the list and give thoughts on each one. The Dr...

A jam-packed episode this week as WWE gave us a lot to talk about. First I give my thoughts on the H.O.F. ceremony--a very middle of the road show. Then two nights of WM with night two being the saving grace. Buddy Lee runs down both nights in a full review. I discuss the highlights of RAW and SD with the latter being the better show. Buddy Lee also pays respect with the passings of O.J. Simpson a...

Buddy Lee gives his thoughts and predictions for nights 1&2 of WM 40. I discuss the RAW and SD go-home shows for Mania and whether or not they did their job. I also give my thoughts on the two recent episodes of D.S.O.T.R. featuring Brutus Beefcake and Harley Race.

Buddy Lee talks the recent tragedy that occurred in Baltimore Harbor waters when a cargo ship crashed into and collapsed the Key Bridge. I give an inside look, as a resident here, of what's going on and what the future holds. More importantly, on behalf of the show and my listeners, I offer my sympathies and condolences to all the families affected in this tragedy. Buddy Lee gives a little history...

Because it's St. Patrick's Day coupled with WrestleMania season, Buddy Lee looks back at the only Mania to be held on the holiday. Do you know which one it was and who is the lone participant to be on both that Mania and this year's? Hint: you have to go back more than 20yrs. I run down the card as it stands fot this year's Mania and the two newest names added for the H.O.F. I discuss two very ave...
