Along the journey to God’s purpose, our faithfulness will be tested so that God can trust us with even more blessings. After being sold into slavery by his brothers, “the Lord was with Joseph,” causing him to prosper in the house of his Egyptian master (Genesis 39). From this place of authority and blessing, Joseph’s faithfulness was tested.

No matter our age, our past, or our present circumstances, God has a purpose for our lives. The story of Joseph in the Bible illustrates this and teaches many valuable lessons on how God leads us into His purpose for our lives. When Joseph was just seventeen, God gave him a dream that he would one day become a ruler over his people.

God has a unique purpose and role for each of us to fulfill God's mission on the earth. We were each given unique gifts and abilities, and part of our spiritual development is discovering and developing them by serving others. Life will never make sense until we discover the purpose God has for us on the earth.

Each of us is here to make a difference in the world to let our light shine for Jesus so that others may see the Christ in us and through us. Making a difference starts small as we begin serving others right where we are. As we do, our gifts grow, our purpose becomes clearer, our lives are filled with meaning and joy, and others’ lives are impacted in the process.
