95 What is Worship: Sacrificing our Communication | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 19.01.2025 53:04
People are wired for worship. We worship God through the Person of Jesus, or we worship persons, things, or ideas that are lesser than God. We prove the object of our worship and our level of devotion by what we are willing to sacrifice. Proper Christian worship involves sacrifice as well, but with a twist - that is, Jesus is our ultimate sacrifice; therefore, our felt sacrifices for Him are not o...
94 What is Worship: We Sacrifice Because He Sacrificed | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 05.01.2025 55:11
A happy and holy New Year to you Hope Church. In some ways, 2024 was a great year for our assembly, while in other ways it was an extremely difficult one. Let us take a few weeks at the very beginning of 2025 to focus on an absolute essential of Christian living. That is the worship of our Lord, our King, and our God. We will talk about what worship is, what it's for, and how we go about it in our...
93 Biblical Elders | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 29.12.2024 25:21
It is now the week between Christmas and the new year. Excitement has worn off and things are now a bit quiet, as they should be. Here at Hope Church Mill Creek, today we quietly and prayerfully consider our church and its future as we officially vote on our elder nominees. Today's sermon will be about church elders and be a directive to ours.

It's Christmas! We thank you so much for choosing to listen here today. Of all the church gatherings in this community, you chose to listen to this service with us. We hope and pray you hear from the Word of The Lord as we all celebrate the one, true King Jesus today. Born a sinless baby, lived a perfect life, died a terrible death, and miraculously resurrected again - all for you and me. Holy, ho...
91 Glimpses of God: The Humility of God | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 15.12.2024 52:21
Most of us would really like to get ahead in life. Whether that be financial position, social standing, or power level, we like it when people look up to us. It would seem that is the natural order of life then. Except, that is not what our model, the man Jesus did. Jesus seemingly went backwards and down - leaving the throne of heaven, becoming mortal man, and suffering with us and for us. This i...
90 Glimpses of God: The Love of God | Pastor Josh Westmoreland, Jody Allen, & Frankie Gentry 08.12.2024 1:02:10
This season of Advent, may we consider where we were, where we are, and where we would be were it not for the Christ child. If God had not sent His beloved Son to His created earth in vulnerability as a baby, where would that leave us? Why would anyone give up their own child for the salvation of someone else? This level of sacrifice is simply too great to comprehend. Or is it love?
89 Glimpses of God: The Trustworthiness of God | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 01.12.2024 41:36
Since the fall of man in the days following his creation, man has struggled to see, hear, and know God. Scripture tells us that men prefer darkness over light. Even those who know Jesus sometimes struggle. So, in this present darkness, how do we know God? We see glimpses of Him here, there, and in Scripture. The Advent season reveals a glimpse of God like no other, the incarnation of the Christ ch...

87 Red Letters: "You must be born again" | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 17.11.2024 42:03
This is our last week of the "Red Letters" series where we have walked through statements of Jesus, such as "I am the bread of life," "Forgive them, and "I will give you rest." We have learned much from these but on the last week, we will talk about what arguably could be the most important words Jesus said, "You must be born again."
86 Red Letters: "Let not your hearts be troubled" | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 10.11.2024 45:42
This has been a good year for Hope Church Mill Creek in many ways. In other ways, it has been difficult for this body. Death has claimed the lives of several precious souls connected with us and has threatened to take others. In light of this, let us take a day and focus on the place called heaven. Let not your hearts be troubled.
85 Red Letters: "Forgive Them" | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 03.11.2024 46:07
Many of us in our lives have wrestled with many things in this world. Sins, tendencies, addictions, bad habits, bad attitudes, poor behavior, lack of self-control, etc. The topic at hand today in our Red Letters series, however, may well be the most difficult battle some of us will face in our entire lives. At the same time, it also may be the most important to win. Do not be afraid, Jesus can hel...
84 Red Letters: "Do not be anxious" | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 28.10.2024 45:55
Anxiety. There's likely not one person on this planet who is of age that has not wrestled with this. For some, it is a daily struggle, if not hour by hour. So, how do we deal with it? How do we cope? Does God care? Furthermore, does Scripture say anything about anxiety? That is precisely what we will be exploring today from out red letter text.
83 Red Letters: "I will give you rest" | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 20.10.2024 39:34
Rest... we all desire rest. We desperately need it. We can't live without it. Yet, this is one thing that eludes many of us frequently - not only a rest and reset of the body, but also of the mind too. Jesus speaks of both in our text this week, but He doesn't stop there. He beckons and invites all the weary and tired to come to Him, and He will give it. But it is an interesting formula.
82 Red Letters: "But who do you say that I am?" | Brian Noles 13.10.2024 30:48
In our text, Jesus asks his disciples a very serious questions. "Who do you say that I am?" The way we answer this question will have a profound impact on us in this life, and the next. All throughout history, people have made various claims about who Jesus is. Who is Jesus to you?
81 Red Letters: "Do you love me?" (Restoration) | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 06.10.2024 40:43
If a grocery store is depleted of groceries, what good then is the store? Many, unfortunately in their Christian lives are operating in a state of depletion. They would love to give, serve, connect, and thrive, but they feel don't have it in them - they are empty. Today, we want you to know you can be "re-stored." You cannot thrive, live, and give if you're empty and disconnected from Jesus. Recon...
80 Red Letters: "I am the bread of life" | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 29.09.2024 37:35
Here at Hope, we try to focus on the Savior all the time. Sometimes we do well, and sometimes we don't. For the next several weeks, however, in the preaching of God's Word, we will be focusing specifically on powerful direct statements of the Christ that are, in many Bibles, emphasized in red letters. Join us as we learn at the feet of our Master who we know is Jesus.
79 The Power of Surrender Part 2 | Casey Temple 22.09.2024 54:33
"The thief does not come but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." Our enemy is an ancient, powerful foe who would have us convinced that he is unbeatable... except he's not! Our God is greater, stronger, higher than any other - our God is the "healer" which is exactly what we're talking a...
78 The Power of Surrender | Tisha Temple 22.09.2024 42:25

77 Ephesians: Goodbye and Godspeed | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 15.09.2024 49:40
The letter of Paul to the Ephesians is such a blessing to the modern church. From warm greetings to spiritual blessings; from great mysteries to doctrinal teaching; from God's purpose to practical living, the book of Ephesians gives and gives. Directed originally toward the local church in the city of Ephesus all those years ago, we still today relish in the end of Paul's letter with his f...
76 Ephesians: The Armor of God Part 2 | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 08.09.2024 51:32
Being a Roman citizen, the Apostle Paul would have been familiar with the Roman Legionnaire's armor. Having spent much time imprisoned for the sake of the gospel and guarded closely by Roman soldiers, Paul would have become even more knowledgeable of this armor. Thanks to this and divine inspiration, we have this beautifully iconic and timeless passage we now call, The Armor of God.
75 Ephesians: The Armor of God Part 1 | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 01.09.2024 38:05
Why do Christians often feel so defeated? Why does life many times seem like a war we are losing? When do we get a break from fighting? How is it possible to fight a crafty, invisible enemy? Also, how is that even fair? The odds are stacked against us, no doubt. However, we are not without defense. We know that The Lord is on our side; however, we must readily and regularly put on the armor of God...
74 Ephesians: Husbands and Wives | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 18.08.2024 43:46
Husbands and wives are the picture of Jesus and His church on earth. The Bible is strong on the concept of marriage because of this very reason. It is through the God-centered home that roots-level transparency and transformation happens and that the gospel is most genuinely seen and shared. God bless our homes and may our marriages thrive under the banner and order of Christ.
73 Ephesians: The Will of God | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 13.08.2024 53:27
Sometimes at Hope Church Mill Creek, we tangle with difficult or complicated topics presented as such in Scripture (like last week). Other times, we are allowed a refreshing return trip back to the basics of life in Christ (like this week). Let us step back from the conflict for a moment, and remember how to act because of who we are in Jesus.
72 Ephesians: Darkness & Light | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 05.08.2024 45:48
For those genuinely converted to Jesus Christ, a light has been switched on in their lives. Rather, the Light himself took over our lives shining in every dark, hidden, and inconvenient corner. For many of us who were rescued by God in our own desperation, this was a welcome change. However, as time goes on, the world, our own flesh, and the devil seeks to pull us back into old, God-forsaken patte...
71 Ephesians: Old Clothes, New Clothes | Pastor Josh Westmoreland 29.07.2024 52:28
People who believe in Jesus should act differently than people who do not believe in Jesus. People are actively following in the way of Jesus will, in fact, be different. However, the issue is, we all have a flesh and past that will be with us until we pass from this earthly life. In the text this week, the apostle Paul calls us to "put off" that way of life - almost like clothes, so tha...
