Greater Hero 11.08.2024 24:56
This week, we look at an important topic - we look up to as heroes. Hebrews shows us many people who walked in the faith and who held to their trust in God, and in life, there are many people we look up to and desire to live as they do. This week, we are reminded again, though, that our greatest hero is Jesus Himself and is the only one worth our greatest allegiance, admiration, and emulation. Jes...

The key themes of Chapter Two include Unity in Christ, The Supremacy of Christ, Baptism as Covenant Sign, Freedom in Christ, and Victory through the Cross.
Greater Sacrifice 04.08.2024 27:40
This week, we look at the reality that Jesus became the greater sacrifice. In the old sacrificial system, the sacrifices were unending. The blood of those sacrifices did not hold the power to wash away sin once and for all. John the Baptist said, “There is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world”. The blood & sacrifice of Jesus is the greater sacrifice because it has the power to now,...

Greater Temple 28.07.2024 27:32
This week, we look at the greater Temple that Jesus now has inhabited. The Temple is where God dwelt in the Old Testament and the New Testament. You had to come to Him in order to worship, offer your sacrifices, and commune with God. When Jesus said, "it is finished," the temple curtain tore, and God left the building. Jesus then sent his spirit into our hearts, making us the greater Temple.

Greater Covenant 21.07.2024 20:17
This week, we look at how the promises of God, through Jesus, are far greater than the promises of the old. Jesus did not come to abolish the law because the law is God’s perfect teaching of who we are, but Jesus came to fulfill the law. The problem with the old covenant was because it was a bad promise but because we do not have the power to fulfill it. The covenant Jesus made is that if we trust...

Greater Mediator 14.07.2024 22:38
This week, we look at a truth that honestly brings me so much comfort as I meditate on it. Hebrews 7:25 says, “Consequently, He is able to save to the uttermost/at all times/completely those who draw near to God through Him since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Jesus now lives to serve as our Greater Mediator who (RIGHT NOW) is making intercession us before the Father. Scripture sa...

Greater Priest 30.06.2024 27:30
The priest served as the one appointed to act on behalf of the people before their God. They would offer gifts, prayers, and sacrifices and lead the people in the worship of their God. Every priest had to not only offer sacrifices for the sins of the people but also for themselves because they were sinful/flawed human beings. That is, until Jesus came as the greater priest. Jesus is a high priest...

Greater Rest 23.06.2024 27:14
We live in a society that prioritizes hard work, business, overloaded schedules, and telling people how busy we are. We are a people often stressed, worn out, frazzled, and in need of true rest. This week, we look at a greater rest that only God can bring. The Sabbath was a day given to us by God to rest from our work & enjoy the blessings of our God. Jesus is the spiritual Sabbath of our lives. I...

Greater Leader 16.06.2024 34:16
Jesus is not a typical leader. He didn’t come to earth the first time to rule in might and power, although he could have. No, he first came as a servant, willing to do His Father's work, live a perfect life, and die on a cross to take the punishment he didn’t deserve. He was humble, obedient, loving, selfless, and sacrificial. This is not the way the world would describe a leader, but isn’t this t...
