A Sure Hope

Some things in life don’t make sense… like why snowflakes are so geometric, or why platypuses are considered mammals when they lay eggs. In today’s message, Pastor Dave teaches that when life isn’t making sense, don’t let it get you down. Instead, put your faith in God, Who knows exactly what it all means.

While the rainbow has been misused as a symbol of identity rooted in rebellion against God’s design, it was created as a symbol of God’s grace. In our human state, we’re incapable of comprehending the incredible love of God. So often we interpret His correction as anger, but He’s only angry over what sin has done to His beloved creation. Today, Pastor Dave says The Church of Ephesus might’ve thought they were doing great, but because of their carelessness, they started to fall.

As a child, if something didn’t go my way, I thought the world was ending. It could be from not getting the toy I desired to not getting the food I wanted. What I didn’t know was that my parents had a plan. Today, Pastor Dave says you can be so caught up in the present that you neglect everything God’s doing around you.

This world seems completely hopeless. There’s war everywhere, and people seem to be in constant tension over seemingly meaningless things. In today’s message, Pastor Dave says God’s our only hope. He alone saves ! He wants you to trust Him to restore a broken world through His Son. He always has a plan!

When things around us go well, it can be easy to say, “Look at what I’ve done!” Today, Pastor Dave says we constantly lose sight of what God’s done in our lives. You have success because God guided you there! He loves you and wants you to be successful, but He wants all the credit because He deserves it!

Who do kids go to when they feel scared at night? Their parents! But why? Because they think their parents are in complete control and trust them. Today, Pastor Dave says when everything around you seems to be in shambles, God says to you, “Do not be afraid.” You must trust Him , because He's in control!

My parents have always tried to lead me in the right direction, but because I’m a sinner, I always wanted to go against their words. Today, Pastor Dave says if you hear correction from the Lord, your choice is to either listen or obey Him! When you feel convicted, you must examine your heart and ensure you’re fully following God.
