Weekly Games Chat

Hello - you did it. You found the WORLD'S GREATEST Podcast about video games. Welcome, we're glad to have you. If you were looking for us last week, well, we took a week off. Sorry about that. BUT, good news we're back this week! However, the topic...kind of sad-ish.  We regret to inform you that Google Stadia will be shutting it's doors forever on January 18, 2023. It seems everyone heard th...

So here we go again - the WORLD's GREATEST Podcast about Video Games is back with another show! This week, it's all about the Splatoon 3. A Nintendo Switch exclusive, our boy Jon sploo'd and goo'd all over the place, in a good way. Possibly a GOTY contender for him - Jon enjoyed playing this game very, very much.  In a way Jon said this game kind of did "what Assassin's Creed 2 did for that f...

Here we are again - that's right...the WORLD'S GREATEST Podcast about Video Games is back! This week we bring to you Disney Dreamlight Valley. What is it? Well, if you know the likes of Animal Crossing and maybe some Stardew Valley - you kind of get what Dreamlight is doing. Kind of. Technically speaking - the game is still is in an Early Access phase...but to be quite honest, it doesn't feel that...

Once again, the WORLD'S GREATEST Podcast about Video Games is back with another episode. This week the main topic is a game (third in a series) titled Immortality. The game is brought to you by indie developer Sam Barlow. Third game you ask, yes - Sam Barlow also did* Her Story and Telling Lies*. Lucky for us, we have a Chris. See, Chris likes video games and he likes movies  AND he played th...

Another week of the WORLD'S GREATEST Podcast about Video games, of course that is us, your Weekly Games Chat. So, VR week means Shaun played a game - and it's a good one. The internets would tell you this is a follow up to Red Matter 1 - and it is. It'd tell you its set in a dystopian type world with Soviet Union vibes, it is. It will also tell you that it may be the best VR game ever, it might be...

This week....Chris and Shaun skate as fast as they can to pull off awesome tricks and shoot everyone who comes in their path! But first they die a lot.....Jon may have gotten the fastest Amazon delivery ever! In the news we recap Opening Night LIve from Gamescom, a cancelled Iron Man game, Steam Deck orders, and Sony is being sued!!! Game On!!! Topic Time: 35:01 (for some reason we talked a lot th...

This week, the boys return for another episode of good times! Chris joined a cult this week cough IN GAME! Calm down! The game for real was Cult of the Lamb,  which is available on all the main places - was originally a demo game for Chris on Steam. However, he didn't need to play the demo for long and purchased the full game on his way to being cult leader. .  Described as sort of a hyb...

This week Jon is un-snapped! What?!? In a shocking turn of events, Chris re-snapped and brought him back - no longer a pile of ashes on the twitch stream. So the game, Live-A-Live is currently a Nintendo Switch exclusive, which the west, aka America - finally has their chance to play it. Why is this a big deal?! Well, the game came out 28 years ago - but we have it now! Does this game stand up to...

his week Jon is not with us - he may or may not have been "Thanos" snapped by our very own Chris. During the intro - Chris did a mini review on Power Wash Sim - which he did play quite a bit of.  After that intro however, the show was a little different. More NEWS! topics than we may have ever had, followed by some really great emailers - some first time, long times in there. Good, Good stuff...

So here we are for another edition of Weekly Games Chat. Dog lovers beware - this episode is very feline heavy. Well, the game - Stray - is a game about a cat - sooooo that's WHY.   Jon reviewed this game (played on his PS5) and to be quite honest, loved it. He admitted to crying (shedding a tear at least) for an ending that matched a game that stirred all the emotions. It is important t...

Jon's back this week and to be quite honest, may be the reason the boys had the topic for this week, Resident Evil. This is of course is the newest RE content out there, not in the form of a video game but TV Show. Broken into 8 shows, it's attempts to weave a story from two perspectives. We refer to them as "Current" so think 2022 and "Future" which I believe Jon said is 2032. We did drop small s...

Jon's out this week right, and Chris and Shaun swore the episode might be the shortest ever. The opposite happened. It turned out to be one of the longer episodes. In part due to an exquisite review of not only the newly released DLC for Cuphead - The Delicious Last Course - but also something magical. Quite possibly the best set of emails ever written to the show. It was not one, but the collecti...

In this week's episode - the boys take on a game that a mere day ago - Shaun didn't even know what the F*#k it was. As it turns out, it's quite the little point and click title. Jon was the main person with knowledge, as he put the most time in stabbing and death trapping people down to the chamber of meat grindness. Wait, what??? Did you just read that right?? Yes. Set in a very overcooked/cookin...

In this week's episode - well, we noted it was the shortest episode in some time. That's right, we clocked in right around one and a half hours. Partly due to the game -but not in a bad way. Chris really liked it and admitted to the nostalgia of TMNT: Shredder's Revenge...the good and the bad parts of said nostalgia.  Was there sufficient tubular-ness, cowabunga's - galore, pizza??? I'm prett...

This week it's all about tactical shooting and espionage and what not. In the game Sniper Elite 5 - you are dubbed "the shadow". However, during this weeks recording we learned Jon is more like the EFFING SUNSHINE when he plays. This is the 5th installment of the main Sniper Elite series per the title, coming directly after Sniper Elite 4 but it's still around the time frame of the event in Sniper...

Topic - This week - the boys opened up a lengthy discussion on the event that was Xbox & Bethesda's 2022 Showcase. There some really good things and there maybe was some things we collectively didn't care about per se. What we did get, was our first extensive look into the new Bethesda IP - Starfield.  Super cool to finally see it...like see it. Now, we may not get this game until the tai...

This week we explored the even that was Sony's State of Play that streamed on 5/31/22. We pretty much agreed it was a good event, not historic OR bad...but good. Jon's highlight was Resident Evil 4 being remade with a release date!  For Shaun, he was happy for all the confirmed PSVR 2 games - but wanted a release date/pricing....something! For Chris, his highlight the Final Fantasy 16 trailer...

This week we learned about how scary ghosts in Japan are ANNNNNND how much fun Jon had/is having playing Ghostwire: Tokyo. Currently a PS5/PC exclusive - we learned about how scary of a vibe this game gives...maybe eerie is better. Either way...it's right up Jon's wheelhouse.  A great point brought up by Chris, this COULD BE Bethesda's last new  game on a PlayStation platform for sometim...

This week it's a well oiled 2-Man podcast, we've fired Jon. Kidding, he's on a business trip - boooo! No worries, Chris and Shaun got you, fam! We discussed the current cycle of delays....whats been impacted, why? Is there and end in sight?  Good news and bad news on that. First - yes...there are SOME games with confirmed release dates. So unless WWIII breaks out (remember when we could say t...

This week is all about a Samurai game that Chris and Shaun played via Xbox's Game Pass - and that game  is Trek to Yomi. A 2D side scroller type  game that is visually stunning and takes you into the world of the main character Hiroki.  Set in the Edo Period -  it literally feels like you are playing a movie at times - but that play thing is somewhat clunky if we're being hones...

This week the boys watched and discussed a new show on Paramount +... and the reason they did so is because of the one and only Master Chief. Does it live up to our expectations? Do we like the music? The story? Despite it's praises, there is a grunt or two we have. As a matter of fact, there is something apparently we all kind of DON'T like about it. #helmet An additional apparently - I also &nbs...

Episode 354 - Lego Game time!!! The Skywalker Sage to be exact! John and Shaun dive into THE saga. Skywalker. It had been a while insert singing since John or Shaun had been here to this familiar place of Lego-ness. We did NOT have a bad feeling about this. While not being the best game ever - it is safe to say this is THE best Lego Star Wars game of all time. If you are a fan of Star Wars - you n...

Episode 353 - It's Moss 2 week - which means Shaun's excited! Chris and Jon - wellll...#jokes.  Shaun contemplates whether this will be the final PSVR game he reviews (there will be Meta Quest and PSVR 2 games), so don't worry all you VR fans! The original Moss was Shaun's first VR game, ever. It was the sole reason of wanting to own a VR.  Moss: Book II - may be the best game he's ever...

Episode 352!! Another week, but a rarity occurs! All 3 of us played a new Kirby game on the Nintendo Switch -  Kirby and the Forgotten Land! A brand new adventure in the long line of Kirby games, we all think this may be the cream of the crop and a lot to suck in... all while having a blast. That's right, no "Mouthful Mode" jokes here. Speaking of Mouthful mode - I mean...he can suck up a car...

Episode 351! Another Tuesday and another fantastic game! This week it's Tiny Tina's Wonderland. A refreshing, but not necessarily groundbreaking game originated from the world of Borderlands. All in all, spending about 2 days or "72 hours" into it - Chris discussed the many reasons he enjoyed this game, and a few reason maybe he didn't. Shout out to the listeners for a fantastic EMAILS! section th...
