Sessions Canceled

We bring the first episode of a little miniseries we are gonna do, The Class Handbook. We will go into each of the classes of D&D 5E and break them down for ourselves. See how we feel about them, what we might change, what we like, and just some general musings. For this episode we started off with Fighter. We pick a hot topic for this episode, 5E feats! Mat was inspired by a recent Unearthed Arcana where Feats are tied to background and so he decided to bring the topic to us. How do we use feats, do we like ‘em, how do we feel about tying them to backgrounds? All that good stuff is on the table. You gotta know when to hold them, and many DMs don't know exactly when to have their players hold their dice. In this episode we discuss when exactly players and DMs should be rolling, and how we can possibly streamline combat and play.  Twitter: https://twitter.com/SessionsCanceld Background music by Kevin Dubois: https://www.instagram.com/kevindubeast/ YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.c...

What’s just as important as giving players that “EXP Smoothie?” Giving them equipment of course! Join us as we talk about the ins and outs of equipment, and how sometimes you really just want that sword to feel cooler than it actually is. With this episode we have a kind of unintended sequel to the previous discussion (Monster Cool: Ep. 8). Josh comes to the group with some frustrations about combat in his games and asks the group to ponder, what makes combat good? During this week's episode, we discuss what we do in game and look for in a character to hit that sweet, sweet serotonin button. Is it hitting stuff really hard, or being an absolute goon? The only way to find out is to listen in.  Twitter: https://twitter.com/SessionsCanceld Background music by Kevin Dubois: https://www.instagram.com/kevindubeast/ YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/cha...

For this episode we sit down and explore how we use monsters and enemies in our games. We look at all the fun aspects like art, lore, and mechanics. And of course, why they cool. In this episode we discuss loot, how we handle giving it to players, how our players do, or don't, use the loot we give them, and how sometimes, you just need a big axe to solve your problems.  Twitter: https://twitter.com/SessionsCanceld Background music by Kevin Dubois: https://www.instagram.com/kevindubeast/ YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf1ILEpdmgiEHnc6Agaz4KQ

In this episode we go into full blown goofy story time. We talk about dumb stories, scenarios, and situations we have gotten into as players as well as dumb crap players have done in our games. Good times all around. In this episode we focus more on what goes on behind the screen. We discuss struggles, issues, stress, and pains from running the game and just let loose a little on something that can sometimes, not always, be a thankless job.
