Pop Culture Role Call

Welcome to season 4 episode 14 of Angel! After Angelus took down Jimmithy (aka the flunkie; aka the beast), the true big bad decided to have some words with the vampire menace. Just words though, since he is talking to him telepathically. But, Angelus isn't anyone's flunkie replacement so that doesn't go well. Meanwhile, Wes is trying to get Faith to fight dirty, to fight like Angelus. Thanks for...

Hello and welcome to Angel season 4 episode 13! In the metaphorical and literal darkest hour, the show runners decided to toss one more spanner in the works. Enter Faith! But...wait, what is this? Something is different. Faith is usually an unwelcome force of nature. But I DO love the way she shames Connor at every turn. Huh. Let's see where this goes. Thanks for listening!

Hello and welcome to season 4 episode 12 of Angel, folks! This week we find the secret, black magic, sketchy way to get Angel's soul back in his body. But.....did we? Angel is kinda looking thirsty and conniving. Thanks for listening!

Hello and welcome to season 4 episode 11 of Angel! Angelus is back and talking all kinds of crap to everyone involved. Tempers flare as everyone's dirty little secrets are broadcasted over security camera. But luckily, no matter how much of a bastard Angelus is, we can always just put his soul back and...BOOM! Right? Definitely. Thanks for listening!

Welcome to Angel season 4 episode 10! Angelus is back and cackling like any good villain would. Is he also laughing because of all the good dirty jokes that come out of their "moment of true happiness" situation? That's why I'm laughing, but who knows. Maybe listen and find out? Thanks!

Welcome to season 4 episode 9 of Angel! The apocalypse is here and people are dying, lots of people. But Gwen (Ms. Electric Hands) is back and playing second string hero for the fractured crew. Is that enough to save the sun from the inky black? Thanks for listening!

Welcome back to Angel! It's season 4 episode 8 this week and the gang is all together again. I wish I could say that reunion was a happy one, or that bridges were being built....but that just isn't how it's going down right now. What is going down? A bunch of lawyers over at Wolfram. They have a wolf in the hen house and a lot of bodies on the floor. Thanks for listening!

Welcome to the apology episode where we watch The New Mutants! We made Stas talk about Connor and Cordi, so now we all talk X-Men for over 2 hours. It's a fun ride with some powerful teens. Demon bears, soul great swords and...being on fire. All the powers you expect on display. Thanks for listening and more Angel next week!

Welcome to Angel season 4 episode 7!..... It's the last one :). Ok, maybe not the actual last one. But boy howdy was it almost. We are not into these Cordi/Connor kissing crimes. Bad. Not good. Let's see if we can get Stas to sit back down at the table next week. Thanks for listening!

Welcome to Angel season 4 episode 6! Huge shout out to the B-squad Emily, Meghan, Mark, and Ruben! That's right, it's another one of those: "we lost our memories so other hosts were called to action" things. Hosts and dogos alike. Keith has a slick spell in his back pocket that might just get Cordi her memory back. Does it work? Thanks for listening!

Welcome to Angel season 4 episode 5! Y'all....this season is making some BOLD choices. And, by "bold" I mean kisses I don't want to hear about. Fred has a big moment as a respected academic. Followed swiftly by a big moment as an agent of revenge. But revenge never quite manifests the way you intend. Thanks for listening!

Welcome to season 4 episode 4 of Angel! Cordi is back...sort of...in a way. While she is back in body she can't seem to remember the Cordi we all know and love. Can the gang deal with ANOTHER major curve ball? How about the hosts? Stas isn't even the one watching for Cordi. Ariel is stepping into those fabulous shoes. Nothing is normal and we just gotta be ok with that! Thanks for listening.

Remember: What happens in Angel season 4 episode 3 stays in Angel season 4 episode 3! The gang (minus Mr. Price) goes to Vegas this week and reunites with our old buddy Keith. All is right with the world once again. After a mystical game of chance steals Angel's fate the goddess Cordelia decides that this is the moment, no more sitting back and waiting to be saved. Angel hits a jackpot, wins his d...

Join us for the second ever SECRET EPISODE of Pop Culture Role Call! Once again it's Collin and Wesley's (and Lilah's) secrets that have been revealed, this time in S04E02 of our podcast. Same as last time, this episode was recording before Collin's co-hosts figured him out. Thanks for listening!

Welcome to season 4 episode 2 of Angel! The goddess Cordelia spoils a secret because....she can do whatever the hell she wants. So shut up. But while she floats around in heaven, or wherever she is, Angel meets a cat burglar with magic hands and kissy lips. Too bad she "kills" Gunn. Thanks for listening!

Welcome to the first episode of Angel season 4, folks! Wes dredges Angel off the bottom of the ocean with the "help" of your friendly neighborhood throat slitter. Meanwhile, Gunn and Fred are holding things down as best they can. But, money is tight and Angel's progeny is up to no good. Thanks for listening!

Welcome to the Angel season 3 wrap up! Thank you to all of the lovely listeners who submitted questions. We rambled too much and definitely didn't have time to get to all of them. Tune in on Jan 28th at 1pm central time for our monthly live stream and we will take some time to answer them live. Don't worry, we will still be watching a full episode and doing a live podcast recording. Thanks for lis...

Season 3 is in the bag, folks! Unfortunately, we seem to be heading into season 4 a few characters light of a full roster. Keith and Gruu are walking off into the sunset. Cordi is some kind of transcendent deity. Angel is trapped in a box underwater.... I sure hope Gunn and Fred have this locked down! Thanks for listening and remember to submit questions for next week's season 3 wrap-up episode.

Welcome to season 3 episode 21 of Angel! Connor and his biological father are still trying to find a way to connect. Turns out, they both LOVE killing. What a relief! Meanwhile, Wes is getting courted by Wolfram and Hart and something might be wrong with Gru. That's what we get for messing with portals I guess. Thanks for listening!

Hello and welcome to Angel season 3 episode 20! Welp, Connor is already back it seems. I guess the "impossible to access" dimension was more of a "pretty difficult to access" dimension. Can father and son bury the hatchet? Preferably not in the father's back. Meanwhile, Lila courts Weasley with some old books (swoon). Thanks for listening!

Welcome to season 3 episode 19 of Angel! A big ol' tear in reality appears in the hotel, driving the phantasmal slug infestation crazy. Wesley is still flying sad-solo wishing he didn't care he was out of the loop. Good thing Gunn has his Fred's back and is willing to talk to the "traitor" for a quick assist. Thanks for listening!

It's season 3 episode 18 this week and we have a full house (minus Wesley). Cordi and Gruu are back from their vacation and trying to piece the situation together. Meanwhile, Gunn's "deal with the devil" finally comes back to haunt him. Is his relationship with Fred strong enough to survive the turmoil? Thanks for listening!

Welcome to season 3 episode 17 of Angel! Cordi....well, I hope she is having fun out there sippin' cocktails at the beach. The rest of us? The rest of us are doing about as poorly as possible. Luckily, Producer Brian steps in to give a voice to Gunn! So, that's a positive. Thanks for listening!

Welcome to the first ever SECRET episode of Pop Culture Role Call! Collin and James sit down to talk about Wesley's recent revelations. These secrets were exposed in the most recent main episode (S03E16). This episode was recorded before he was found out! Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy it.

Welcome to season 3 episode 16 of Angel! Collin gets caught in a big ol' lie this week. But, was the lie justified given the whole "The father will kill the son" prophecy? It doesn't seem to have helped a whole awful lot. Maybe Cordi has some helpful insights... wherever she is. Thanks for listening!
