One New Man MInistries

One New Man Ministries is an Ephesians 2 ministry of reconciliation. As Messianic Jews and Messianic Gentiles, together we study the Old and New Testament from the point of view of God's continuous revelation of His plan to redeem a people for Himself through His only begotten son, Yeshua Ha Meshiach, Jesus Christ. Yeshua means "salvation" and is God's merciful plan to save all people through their faith in Yeshua, Jesus, as the once and for all atoning sacrifice. He is "the gift of God" Eph2:8-22. "For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the divi...

Jacob's ladder: Blessed Richly by Grace 03.12.2023

Jacob is blessed richly by grace, "God is with you", because God has determined to bless Jacob not because of Jacob's merit. We discuss the meaning of Jacob's ladder, his dream of ascending and descending angels. The LORD blesses Jacob and restates the promise to Abraham that through Jacob's offspring all nations will be blessed. In the New Covenant portion, Yeshua uses the same vision of the ladd...

Isaac and Yeshua, Our Hope for Peace: Springs of living water 19.11.2023

From the weekly Torah portion Toledoth, we continue to discuss Isaac as the foreshadowing of Yeshua. In Genesis chapter 25-26, we see a path for peace through the story of Isaac and Abimelech, the king of the Philistines, the people living in Gaza. God has promised Abraham that through him and his seed all nations would be blessed. But in Gen chapter 26, God promises Isaac that through his seed al...

The Seed of Salvation 12.11.2023

We discuss Genesis 23-25, “The life of Sarah”, and trace the seed of the blessing starting with Noah, through Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah. The seed of redemption eventually incarnates as Yeshua, Jesus' Hebrew name, which means “salvation”. This is God's plan for the fulfillment of the Abrahamic covenant that through Abraham's seed all nations would be blessed. Afte...

Isaac: The foreshadowing of Yeshua (salvation) 05.11.2023

We see in the Torah portion Vayera (Gen18-22) major themes of salvation. The portion ends with the Akeda, the sacrifice of Isaac, on Mount Moriah or the Temple Mount and the site of todays Dome of the Rock. The story of Isaac begins with the LORD announcing to Abraham and Sarah the promise of the birth of the son of the covenant to parents beyond the age of conception. The analogy of the virgin bi...

Faith and Trust in God's promises credited as righteousness 29.10.2023

We discuss the Abrahamic covenant revealed in the Torah portion Genesis 12-17. God promises to make of Abraham a great nation and that Abraham will be a blessing to all nations because he will reveal the truth of the one God. The LORD promises to give Abraham and his seed the land of his sojourning. In Genesis 15, the LORD promises childless Abraham an heir and that his "seed" shall be as numerous...

God's Grace is the Final Word 24.10.2023

Noah's faith and trust in God and his reverent fear for God, saved mankind. After the flood, Genesis 8:21 "the LORD said in his heart, "I will never again curse the ground because of humankind, for the inclination of the human heart is evil from youth; nor will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done." God tells Noah to be fruitful and mutiply, and fill the earth." God gives domi...

In the beginning, God! His revelation through Creation and the Bible 15.10.2023

The Torah starts: In the beginning, God! The biblical worldview is discussed. God, the Creator is sovereign. “All of creation is the overflow of God's love!” The spiritual precedes the material. The existence of God means that there is absolute truth, morality, and holiness. In the process of creation, God creates boundaries, light and darkness, land and water, and saw that it was good...

The Spirit of Wisdom: The happiness of Torah 08.10.2023

The reading for Simchat Torah is both the end and the beginning again of the Torah as the holiday marks the time when the scrolls end and are turned back to the beginning. The story ends with Moses at 120 years undiminished in strength, walking down the road with Joshua and Eleazar past the Israelites arranged by tribes being acknowledged by them who are grieving the departure of their great leade...

Sukkot: The LORD provides! Joyously celebrate together in our temporary dwellings. 02.10.2023

Sukkot, "Festival of Booths", is a Torah commanded holiday celebrated for seven days referring to the protection God provided for the Israelites during their 40 year trek through the desert. It is a joyful time of communal celebration of the ingathering, a celebration of gathering in the final harvest. This foreshadows the celebration of God's final ingathering of the harvest of His redeemed peopl...

Israel rejected? No way! 24.09.2023

Paul makes a forceful argument that God has not finished with Israel. Despite rejecting Yeshua, God intends to keep the covenant He made with them. It is based in part on our Torah portion, Deuteronomy 32. There Moses tells the people what will happen to them when they turn away to serve other gods. Terrible times will come- famine, war, and exile- but they are not the end of the story. Moses make...

Atonement through the blood of Yeshua 16.09.2023

Atonement is all God's grace and mercy. Our "works" of fasting, confession, and repentance cannot earn our salvation. We discuss Yom Kippur, the holy day of atonement, versus the once and for all atonement through the blood of Yeshua Ha Meshiach. Yeshua's single sacrifice for sins has "perfected for all time those being sanctified" and is God's plan for our redemption and salvation. By faith in th...

Life or death? Choosing Yeshua Is life! 10.09.2023

Awaken Israel! Our God is a covenant keeping God. He is redeeming a people for Himself. Deut 30:1-6: God has fulfilled His promise in Deuteronomy to bring the dispersed and scattered Jewish people back to the promised land in our lifetime! And now, Deut 30:6 "And the LORD thy God will open thy heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, tha...

A Grace-filled Heart 04.09.2023

We are redeemed by God's grace and we should have joyfulness and gladness of heart because of the abundance of all things. Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God". Deuteronomy 26:9-10 instructs the Israelites that when they come into the promised land, "the land flowing with milk and honey", that they should bring the fi...

The Lost Chapter: Isaiah 53 30.08.2023

To see another with the eyes of Yeshua ha Meshiach is to see their pain with eyes of compassion. The Torah portion Deuteronomy:21-25 demonstrates case law of specific examples for how we should live and behave given the example of our Savior. Specifically we are "to love your neighbor as yourself". We are to treat every human being with justice which is derived from the inherent dignity of every h...

Herald "the salvation of our God": Yeshua the perfect judge, king, priest, and prophet 20.08.2023

In our New Covenant passage, John 1:19-34, John the Baptist heralds, sees, and announces Yeshua (Jesus) which means salvation in Hebrew, as 29:"the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world". 33:"'He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'" We see in the Torah, Old testament, portion Deut 16:18-21:9, the foreshadowing of Yeshua as the fulf...

Rejoice in the LORD: "I am setting before you the blessing and the curse" 13.08.2023

Grace (unmerited favor) is God's gift. Because of this gift, we should be careful of our choices. Worshipping (what we value, "worth ship"), God will sow seeds that will result in the blessing, whereas worshipping "idols" sows seeds that will result in the curse. Each day, each moment is a choice, that leads one way or the other. Obedience leads to joy. He wants us to commune together in "the pres...

"Circumcise your heart": Because of God's grace and our salvation, Yeshua, we should desire to worship and obey 06.08.2023

We are the recipients of God's grace through faith because of the oath that He swore to Abraham, and His plan for redeeming a people for Himself, our salvation through Yeshua Ha Meshiach, Jesus Christ. Grace comes before obedience, relationship preceeds obedience. Because we have God's grace, we desire to obey. Then come the bessings of obedience, "if you will follow these rules" then God will ble...

The Shema: God is One, Love God and Love your neighbor 30.07.2023

The Shema, the watchword of the Jewish people, states "The LORD our God, the LORD is One."(Deut 6:4) We discuss the nature of the word "One" from a point of view of the trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Shema also is the great commandment, "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your might"(Deut 6:5). And as Yeshua said, "You shall love y...

One Body in Christ: Communion, preparing one's heart with contrition and submission. 23.07.2023

Deuteronomy 1:45 "but the Lord hearkened not to your voice, nor gave ear unto you." We discuss difference between attrition, sorrow over the consequences of sin, versus contrition, the sorrow over sin itself. Contrition requires confession, submission, and a heart of repentance. We discuss the powerful sacrament of communion which is preceeded by confession, in order individually to receive God's...

Vows: Let your Yay be Yay. 17.07.2023

Numbers 30:3 "When a man makes a vow to the Lord,... he shall not break his word;". Vow " a solemn promise to consecrate something to God, or do something in His service or honor." Phillipians 3:8-11 "For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him,...the righteousness from God that depends on faith-that I may knw h...

"Zeal for your house will consume me". "Destroy this temple, and in 3 days I will raise it up." 10.07.2023

In John 2: 13-22, Jesus demonstrates his zeal for God. He links this to the destruction of his body and his resurrection. Because God is a jealous and faithful God, He expects our fidelity and faithfulness to Him. In the Old Testament parsha, Phineas was jealous for God, and what he did both made atonement for israel and stopped the plague. Yeshua, Jesus, as both God and man demonstrates both God'...

Balaam "a false prophet" vs Yeshua Ha Meshiach (Jesus Christ) "wisdom from God" 03.07.2023

Balaam: the difference between a "false prophet" who can "divinate" the word of God, but who is motivated for self, versus a true prophet. Balak appeals to Balaam, the gentile "prophet", to curse the Israelites, but Balaam is constrained to "speak the word of God". New Testament 1 Corinthians 1:20-31 makes clear God's plan for redemption: 22 " For Jews demand signs and Greeks desire wisdom, but we...

The Mystery of the Red Heifer concealed without Yeshua and the cross 26.06.2023

The red heiffer without one white hair was to be burned with its dung and its ashes mixed with living water and sprinkled on those contaminated by death in order to restore them to the camp and communion with the tabernacle of God. The mystery can be understood throgh Yeshua who born of the Spirit crucified for our sins conquering death and resurrected on the third day and to be our intercessor wi...

Korah's rebellion and God's plan for atonement and redemption 18.06.2023

Korah's rebellio stemmed from indepndence, pride, vain glory and rebellion. He challenges God and is swallowed up. The people still grumble and murmur propmpting God's curse of a plague, until Aaron the high priest at Moses prompting goes out with "incense" and atones for the people standing in between the living and the dead. This foreshadows our salvation through Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Meshiach...

Parsha Sh'lach l'cha Num 13:1-15:41, Josh 2:1-24, Heb 3:7-19 11.06.2023

The consequences of living in faith versus fear. Trusting in God's promises. "Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall way from the living God." By grace we are saved through faith.
