Gospel Life Sermons

The Books of Acts introduces us to Jesus’ disciples and their expectations about what they thought the resurrection accomplished. In their mind, they thought that Jesus rose to restore God’s Kingdom to the Jews. Jesus tells them that he rose to bring the invitation into God’s kingdom to the whole world instead. With that, we learn that the mission of Jesus is about witnesses, not winning, because...

There is something inside everyone of us, that thinks we can make it through life without the mercy and grace of God. It is why sin is so rampant in our hearts and why prayer/praise are often not found in our mouths. What a gift of God’s grace to give us the gift of Faith, so that we would stop striving to find life in our own strength and gladly receive true life as a blood bought gift from God....

Grace is scary, grace is risky, and more often than not, grace feels like an abstract idea that just doesn’t seem to hit home. However, the message of the gospel is a good news announcement to unworthy sinners about how they can be made worthy through the work of another in their place. You think I’m a sinner? You don’t know the half of it. I’m way worse than you know but way more loved than I cou...

The secret to a satisfied life isn't found by asking "Who am I?" but by discovering "Whose I am"? We will explore how living in union with Christ, "in Christ alone" (Solus Christus) we find everything our hearts are searching for—not through self-improvement or secular promises, but through the radical union described in Galatians 2:20: "I have been crucified with Christ... it is no longer I who l...

Sola Scriptura means that we submit to Scripture’s authority, stand on Scripture’s claims, and share Scriptures good news about Jesus for the world to hear! Join us as we learn and grow in understanding how the Sufficiency of Scripture shapes our gospel understanding and lives as believers for the glory of God!

The Westminster Confession of 1647 says that "man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” This idea, rooted in the Reformation, comes to us directly from the Word of God and the Bible teaches us that God displays, defends and delivers us for His glory through the promise of His gospel. Therefore, through faith in Christ, each of us can truly say: Sola Deo Gloria.

The Bible is filled with one-liners that sound right, look good, and seem helpful for the challenges we tend to face in life. But what if these one-liners have been misunderstood? What if God really does give me more than I can handle? What if His plans to prosper me weren’t specifically about me? And what if asking for anything in Jesus’ name isn’t as simple as it sounds? The Bible is the unfoldi...

Gospel Life Church exists to make disciples who make disciples and to plant churches that plant churches. Many of us have heard that phrase before—but what does it actually mean? What is a disciple? How are disciples made? What’s my role in all of this? And let’s be honest—church planting sounds intimidating. What if I’m not a church planter? As we grow in the gospel, we want to be very clear: the...

What is evangelism? The phrase "preach the gospel" is the common definition for the Greek word "euaggelizo" which means "to evangelize." We practically see evangelism in the body of Christ as the sharing of the good news of Jesus Christ - His death, resurrection, and ascension - and this Gospel message is for the whole world! In Mark 16:15, Jesus said to his disciples, “Go into all the world and p...

He is risen! He is risen, indeed! The Easter Acclamation is both a declaration of the good news of Jesus and an invitation for us to believe it. Jesus rose from the grave and this is the best news the world has ever received. However, Paul tells us in Romans 6:1-4 that Jesus rose from the grave so that we might walk in newness of life. Jesus died. I died. Jesus lives. I live to walk in new life. T...
