GBHBL Interviews

Playing symphonic black metal, but amalgamated with a theatrical nuance, Erzsébet’s path began in 2020. Forging an identity that would lead to their first EP, ‘The Blasphemous Lady’ and basing it around the history and myth of Countess Elizabeth Báthory. Aiming to showcase themselves as a band that combines dark, symphonic, aggressive and horrendous elements that transport listeners to a dimension...

‘Nothing Ever Grows' is the new single from Bristol rock trio Krooked Tongue, released September 6th, 2024. It follows 2023's second studio EP 'Deathproof' which has been streamed over 320,000 times to date. In addition, August 2024 saw their biggest support tour to date, supporting Kid Brunswick on his final 'Dead Forever' tour across the UK. They've also recently shared the stage with False Head...

The Vomitour 2024 has seen everyone’s favourite party slam band, Party Cannon, hitting up city after city across the UK alongside hardcore noise mongers Street Soldier and Pintglass. A tour that has already seen sell out venues, more inflatables than should be legally allowed, utter carnage in the pits, and even mayonnaise! After all, it’s a Party Cannon show! A show that we summed up with this st...

Hailing from Ukraine, Silvern are a black metal band who released their debut full-length album ‘Stardust Sermons’ via Vendetta Records on September 6th, 2024. It’s been a challenging journey to release, with multiple postponements due to the full-scale aggression from Russia, but the album has finally seen the light of day. Telling a conceptual story that surrounds a faceless character as their p...

Rotherham sludge trio Swamp Coffin return on 27th September with their 2nd album ‘Drowning Glory’. Released on APF Records this is their heaviest, most powerful and most miserable record so far. The riffs are bigger, the grooves heavier and lean further in to their death metal and hardcore influences. This is a band baring their souls in a way only they know how - fuzz, volume and screaming. We sp...

From the depths of Norway looms a new rising beast of hate and misanthropy in the form of Avmakt. Featuring the duo of Kristian Valbo and Christoffer Bråthen – known for their work with such acts as Aura Noir, Obliteration, and Condor – their debut album, ‘The Satanic Inversion of….’ Was released on August 30th, 2024, via Peaceville. Molder's sophomore album, Engrossed In Decay, found the Joliet, IL death metal outfit making no-bones about their obsession with all things decomposing back in 2022. Picking up right where they left off, Molder are set to reanimate the dead in 2024 with their forthcoming third album, 'Catastrophic Reconfiguration', due for release via Prosthetic Records on November 8th. We spoke to vocalist and gu...

Satan’s history is storied, their albums and incendiary live shows, iconic. The Newcastle, England-bred lineup may quip that their career has been “44 years of prolonged mayhem with a 20-year lunch break”—forming in 1980, eventually pausing before reuniting in 2011—but circa 2024 finds the band thriving, writing, recording, and touring at the top of their game. Proof positive is their seventh stud...

Infected Rain’s Summer plans have seen them on the road pretty much since the end of June, and a handful of UK dates heralds the end of this current run. Although not for too long as the latter part of 2024 is looking pretty intense. The band's London headline show on the 29th of August had a celebratory feel to it. A celebration of Time, a celebration of the achievements following the new album’s...

Boasting a family friendly and welcoming environment, many metalheads don't even think twice about taking their children to Bloodstock. From all ages, families are encouraged to attend, and the 2024 edition was no different. Which is the first year Brendan of GBHBL decided to bring his daughter, Rose (12 years old) to the event. She had a blast, and alongside Brendan, wanted to share some of her t...
