Following on from yesterday’s episode, it’s time for more chat about our old work bosses. Well, that was the plan but in true Chatabix fashion, David and Joe soon get diverted from the task at hand. So instead you can expect discussions about David’s old VHS copy of MMA fights, not doing much work as a petrol station attendant in the 90s, travel plans, Joe’s fears of Thailand and David’s long forg...

David and Joe’s chat for the first half of the episode includes podcast sponsorship, getting free stuff, abandoned hobbies, looking busy (whilst not being busy) and the smoke and mirrors involved in press releases. During all of which, Joe realises he doesn’t have an actual boss and really appreciates it. He then tells David about a Direct Debit that he’s unknowingly been paying for months. He rec...

After chatting about a dream David had the previous night and Joe discovering he’s much more confident recording intros to pods than the actual pods themselves - they soon realise they’ve nothing to talk about for the rest of the episode. So they return to discussing their new TV show and more specifically, what an emotional roller coaster ride the filming was for David. A heady mix of discomfort,...

Well the wait is over as the brilliant actor Mark Bonnar finally join’s David and Joe to discuss all things Inspector Lynley. David and Joe have just finished filming their new TV series for U&Gold, which will be out next year. They’ve been asked by the channel to record something about it on the podcast, which can then be used as promotion for the show. So David and Joe give it their best shot to concisely explain the premise, but are predictably un-nerved by the task and soon lose confidence in themselves. That's u...

Yes that’s right, it’s the first of our Celebrity Traitors specials! The series kicked off last night and all the contestants have entered the infamous Traitors castle - including our very own Joe Wilkinson, of course. So from now until the game has reached its dramatic conclusion, David and Joe will be discussing each episode after it’s broadcast. Tune in to hear all the details and inside gossip...

Joe’s now watched two more episodes of Clarkson’s Farm - and is absolutely loving it! So he and David are back to discuss even more about the show and the man himself, Jeremy Clarkson. They’re both a little bit in awe of him but are now seriously regretting having a go at his Top Gear and Grand Tour shows. And wonder if they’ve blown their chances of him ever wanting to be a guest on Chatabix. Lat...

As you might well know, David is a fully committed member of the Clarkson’s Farm fan club - he thinks it’s just wonderfully cosy TV. But Joe wasn't convinced he’ll like it and in spite of David’s encouragement, still hadn't gotten around to giving it a go. That is until now, as he’s finally watched the first episode! So settle in for Joe’s full review - did he like it, will he watch more and will...

It’s archive episode time! And in this one, whilst David and Joe wait for their guest to turn up (who doesn’t) they have to think on their feet. David’s recently discovered an ‘Exit Survey’ on the Chatabix Patreon account - which is a list of reasons both positive and negative that listeners have submitted when un-subscribing. So naturally he reads some of them to Joe. It’s all very revealing and leads them to think about what exactly listeners want from the pod. Then, in a complete change in direction, they decide to read some more One In...

First up, some chat about an embarrassing compliment that David received recently, a lovely Crunch Crunch Joe got at his recent Park Run and how to best to cook an omelette. Then the talk returns to Joe’s wild camping plans. How are things progressing with the tent-buying, where is he going to do it and just how is he feeling about the whole idea now that he’s had a chance to let it settle in? FOR...

Joe wants to go on a proper adventure for the podcast and possibly even record it to broadcast too. So he and David spend lot of today’s show coming up with ideas about what he might do. Then David suggests wild camping in the Ashdown Forest - which despite Joe’s many reservations, is the idea he decides to go for. So stay tuned for all the details and more importantly, find out if it will ever ac...

A not so random pick from the archives this week. As David’s sacking from the Spoons sketch show came up recently, we’re posting the old episode that we recorded about it. To find out more about that fateful day, we chatted to comedy producer and writer Neil Webster about why he had to fire David and why exactly he wasn't up to the job. Following on from yesterday’s episode - and in preparation for their upcoming chat with Mark Bonnar about it - here’s yet more analysis of David’s performance on the Inspector Lynley Mysteries set. Just how god damn bad was he?! Plus, there’s talk about David’s sacking from Spoons, Joe’s first acting job on Him And Her and what it would be like to audition for Holby City. It’s recently come to light that the wonderful actor Mark Bonnar appeared alongside David in his infamous Inspector Lynley Mysteries scene. So Joe, being a friend of Marks, has asked him to come on the pod to give his impression of how David behaved on the day. Was he really as nervous, time-waisting and rubbish at acting as David believes? The only problem is that Mark’s suddenly had to cancel an...

David kicks things off by telling Joe about the lovely old man he met walking on Dartmoor the other day. But also how the man thought David was about 57, which didn’t go down so well. This leads both David and Joe to talking about their aging and looking older too. Then it’s onto old jobs and the time David worked as a runner in Soho - and how David really does’t like London. So there’s lots of ch...

An archive show for the Chatabix diehards out there. In this one, the recording went wrong and so we got ready for work whilst playing a song called Believe from 1991.
