This morning we will begin a study in the book of Proverbs on how to build our Trust by learning to trust in the LORD.  We will begin our study with two lessons taken from the promise declared by the LORD in Proverbs 3:5-6.  This is a commonly quoted passage and I hope to shed light on the depth of its meaning for our trust in God, building our trustworthiness, and discovering how we can better co...

This morning we will look more closely at verse six which describes by way of illustration how a person who refuses to fully trust in God looks like.  I hope you will take note, take thought, and self-examine to see if you are experiencing any of the pain and suffering this verses describe.  If so, please draw near to the Scriptures about trusting the LORD and also listen to the sermons beginning...

Have you ever noticed we really love those sermons that are positive, powerful, and encouraging?  Honestly, every sermon can be all theses things and much more with the correct Mindset and perspective.  This morning is one of those kind of sermons.  I personally like it when someone takes the time to warn and counsel me of potential dangers that I would face in the future if I don't listen to and...

This morning's sermon is titled, "The Blessings for Those Trusting in the LORD!"  Examining the analogy of a strong, resilient, flourishing tree to a man who trusts in the LORD as found in Jeremiah 17:7-8, we will find out what this analogy really means for us who put our faith and trust in the LORD.  Our lives will be firmly rooted in Christ Jesus through the indwelling presence of His Spirit.  W...

Reflections on 2021. A Year of Perseverance!

This morning we shall discover Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a woman of great character, conviction and perseverance! At this time of the year many turn their attention to the birth of Jesus. There is much more to the story of Mary's life than the birth of Jesus. She was a woman of impeccable virtue. She loved the LORD more than anyone or anything. As we look more deeply into the verses we are al...

It seems that there are many more sermons that need to be preached before the year is past so I will focus on finishing up and "Putting a Bow" on this year's series of lessons.  This morning we will examine the words of Christ.  The title of the lesson is "Our Mindset for Perseverance- Blessed, Rejoicing and Shining"  We will introduce the lesson by defining what it means to be blessed.  Then we s...

of God's words.  The LORD designed His word to challenge our thinking, pierce our hearts, empower us to serve Him fearlessly and to wipe away every reason or excuse that would keep us from serving Him.  This morning I will bring forth another example of great courage and conviction in the face of many overwhelming challenges both within and from outside a young man who seems to be not well suited...

We continue our quest of examining those who have gone on before us and have set the example of perseverance and endurance in the face of overwhelming trials and persecutions.  As we turn our attention to the New Testament examples we will begin with the Apostle Paul.

Our next great example of Perseverance is one of the greatest examples of "Long Suffering" and "Enduring Perseverance," the man Noah!  We will learn that Noah was a man of great faith, faithfulness, righteous character, and enduring perseverance.  We will discover he had a faith very similar to Abraham the father of the faithful.  We will also find that he was an amazingly faithful servant of God...

As we close in on the end of the year we will finish by examining several examples of great men and women of character who faithfully endure hardship and ill treatment without wavering.  This morning we will take a closer look at the man Job.  James speaks of him as one of the great examples of patient endurance during times of overwhelming affliction.  Honestly,  I think most people would break u...

As we move on to our last series for our this year's theme, The Power of Perseverance, I will begin with prayer... a sermon on how to pray for perseverance for ourselves and for the brethren.  The title of the sermon "Pray for His Presence, Power, and Perseverance!"   We will discover the reason we should pray in this way and for these things.  We will learn the foundation of such a prayer is know...

Is titled "Consider Jesus...!"   We are told by the writer of Hebrews that we need to fix our eyes on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith.  This is exactly what we will do this morning in answering the question, "How did Jesus to it?"  How was He able to live a life of faithfulness and endurance while continually enduring contention, strife, hatred and ultimately an excruciating death at t...

This morning we turn our attention not so much on preparation but rather performance.  As we learned last week, "The Race" that is set before us is a life of faithfulness, manifesting the glorious and magnificent character of Christ Jesus in our every word and deed.  The question is how do we accomplish running the race and winning the reward of eternity with or King?  This morning we will look at...

Let us run with endurance the race that is set before! is the title of my sermon this morning. Honestly brethren as I studied for this morning's sermon I was a bit overwhelmed. I now better understand what Jesus was talking about in Luke 14:25-33. Those who are Christians and those who desire to become Christians must really count the cost! I am convinced that all the pain and suffering in this li...

conquering sin in our life!  We are called to purify ourselves just as Christ Jesus is pure if we desire to be received by Him to Himself on resurrection day!  You might ask, "How is this possible?"  People who are taught correctly know that sin separates them from God and leaves them destined for the lake of fire!  To solve this problem the LORD describes two very important solutions for us to im...
