In Genesis 4, Cain asked God, "Am I my brother's keeper?"  Cain had murdered his brother Abel and God had asked him where his brother was.  Now the reason Cain asked God the question was not that he didn't know the answer to where his brother was.  The reason he questioned God was because he knew that he was responsible for his brother's death.  Cain questioned God because he was trying to separat...

In 2 Kings 4, the son of a well to do woman died suddenly.  The son was a miraculous gift from God because the woman could not have children and God had performed a miracle in her life.  Her special gift from God had died and was taken away from her.  However, instead of giving into despair, she exercised her faith and believed that God was able to raise her son from the dead.  She believed that G...

In Matthew 19, a rich young ruler asked Jesus, what good thing should he do to get eternal life.  Jesus told him that in addition to fulfilling God's commandments, he should sell his possessions and give the money to the poor so that he can have treasure in heaven.  Then he should follow Him.  When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he could not bear to forsake his great wealth an...

However, He reminds us not to fear, because He is our Refuge and Strength, our very present help in t...

The Book of Life is mentioned several times in the Bible.  God has a Book of Life in His possession.  Is your name written in it?  In Revelation 3:5, Jesus says, "The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white.  I will never blot out the name of that person from the Book of Life but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels."  How does a person get his or her name...
