Paul shows a shocking attitude toward his daunting circumstance while in prison. He knows he will be delivered, he knows it and has courage, and regardless how the outcome will manifest itself he has everything to gain in Christ.

We’re moving from how older men in the church are to behave to older women and what we see here could definitely be seen as culture shock for the women in our day and age.

He tells Titus that when he teaches, he needs to be teaching in conjunction with the word of God. As for older men, they will live according to the word of God and be faithful to it.

Paul is instructing Titus on how to deal with the circumcision party. This was a group of people that had infiltrated the church. They were spreading a false teaching. It was a false gospel. It was a message of works based salvation. Paul blatantly refutes them.

May we bold to confront these teachers and rebuke them to repentance. If they should not heed our words we must remove ourselves from their venues. Unbiblical unsound teaching cannot be allowed or tolerated if we are to maintain the purity of the church and ultimately give glory to our God.

You will never find the perfect church because there are people there. But the church you should be looking for is the one that is operating biblically.

We looked at what Paul went through as a prisoner. His example was one that inspired others to share the gospel while they faced adversity. He showed us that we need to share the gospel boldly. And through that we can share the gospel with joy because we get fulfill the purpose we are called to.

There areas in scripture we don’t understand. There are some things we can’t comprehend, but the gospel should never be one of them. So make it a priority to study and know the scriptures. Know them well enough to detect friend from foe when you hear teaching.

Paul is putting serious emphasis on being above reproach. These verses shows us that it is critical and commanded if we are to faithfully serve in the ministry.

These are the marks of a pastor but a person can take these characteristics whether it’s in the pulpit, at home, in the factory, or where ever and apply them in their own life.

Paul calls Titus his true child in the common faith. This is an indicator that the Apostle Paul personally led Titus to Jesus Christ. Paul personally discipled and conditioned Titus for the ministry he is currently active in.
