The Paceline Cycling Podcast
The Paceline is a cycling podcast aimed at roadies, mountain bikers, commuters, cyclocross enthusiasts, those who grind gravel—indeed anyone who claims cycling for their own. The bicycle is more than a thing, it’s an issue. The Paceline also discusses the bike’s place in society. The hosts love bike gear so expect some banter about what works and what does not on the road and trail. The podcast on two wheels. No training wheels needed. The Paceline is hosted Patrick Brady and John Lewis, and is a production by The Cycling Independent.

Paceline Podcast 262 28.10.2021 59:51
John has been doing what we'd refer to as gravel rides since before he had a gravel bike and while he enjoys increased specialization, he thinks we don't always appreciate just how versatile less discipline-specific bikes really are. Patrick talks to industry vet Rick Vosper about how the Dutch conglomerate Pon just purchased Dorel, one of the biggest producers of bikes for the U.S. market and jus...

Paceline Podcast 260 14.10.2021 49:35

John is just back from doing a very hard thing. A thing that was harder than he expected. We learn things about ourselves on these occasions, and he learned a thing or two. Our not-quite-man cyclist, Robot, will be running an ultra this coming weekend. He says that there are some remarkable parallels between endurance sports and suggests we are likely to agree. Padraig takes on a listener question about his new TCI series, The Angle. It's a fair question: Why should anyone care about bike geometry?
Paceline Podcast 257 23.09.2021 55:08
We can laugh at ourselves, yes? Robot takes aim at cycling costumes, our seriousness, ridiculousness and functionality all being poked, prodded and panned. And maybe justified, too. This week Padraig takes on helmet mirrors. Are they a good idea? What does brain science have to say about them? He digs into that and discusses what we can do to increase the odds that a driver won't go thump-thump ov...
Paceline Podcast 256 15.09.2021 58:11

Paceline Podcast 254 26.08.2021 50:35
Just what is humidity? For a cyclist, relative humidity can make the difference between a lovely day on the bike and a session of abject suffering. But what does that number really mean and how should we interpret it. Our man Robot goes full nerd. It wasn't too long ago that most roadies were decrying the advent of disc brakes on road bikes as unnecessary technology and a cynical effort to make us...

Demand has fallen off, possibly because non-bike-owning types are tired of waiting for bikes to show up from the factories. Robot digs into this question with unsurprising results. A listener wrote to Patrick to comment on the stance the s...
