Talks from Sundays

Luke 4 teach us that Jesus came to bring good news which means the church is meant to a blessing in the city. But how do we do that? What should we actually do? In this message we explore 5 practical ways that all believers can be good news where they live.

Jesus announces his mission in Luke 4 as being flooded with good news. He has come to bring forgiveness, freedom, release and healing to any who will receive him. This week we begin a series talking about what the church is called to, and why we are here in the great city of Rotterdam.

The way Luke sets up his gospel is as a journey. Not just Jesus’ journey, but a journey for us to follow. As we follow Jesus on his way to the cross - as he walks and talks and works miracles - our lives too are transformed. We grow in our understanding of who Jesus is, and our identity in Him. We learn to surrender, and we begin to see the kingdom of God at work.

In this sermon, Vahé explores how Jesus invites us all into a life of divine generosity and to explore the ever-ending depths of God’s goodness and love towards us. Vahé emphasises Jesus’ shocking and most comforting claim: that this life of blessing with God (life in the kingdom of heaven) starts now.

A walk through the life of Mary, mother of Jesus.

Through the story of Jairus and the healing of the woman suffering from bleeding, we explore the nature of faith and how we can nurture it in our own hearts.

In Luke 15, Jesus shares the well-known parable of the Lost Sheep. Through this story, we discover a profound truth: humanity is both utterly lost without God, but also completely and unconditionally loved by Him.

In this final message of the series, we look at Psalm 42 and consider what it means for our souls to long for God. We explore how this longing connects to the New Testament call to “walk by the Spirit” and why it is vital for each of us to cultivate a life of dependence on the Holy Spirit.

In this talk, we explore what it truly means to live according to the Spirit rather than the flesh. We’ll discover that when we learn to walk by the Spirit, we can experience real freedom, deep peace, and lasting joy.

We long to be more like Jesus — loving, patient, gentle — but real character change doesn’t come through sheer effort. In this message, we explore how true transformation happens not by striving or rule-keeping, but by the power of the Holy Spirit. As we walk with Him, we bear the fruit of a life shaped by Jesus.

In this message, Adrian unpacks the powerful truth that God is truly speaking to each of us, and that we can each learn to recognise and respond to His voice.

In this message, we explore the purpose and significance of the gifts of the Spirit together with some of the common hurdles that can keep us from walking in them.

In this message we explore the issue of being Baptised in the Holy Spirit. We consider the different views held on this position, but also that whatever your view, the main emphasis of the New Testament is to go on asking for and receiving more of the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is living in us, reminds us that we belong to God and sets us free from sin.

In the first message of a new series about the Holy Spirit, we consider how we live in the ‘now’ age of the Spirit, and yes also the ‘not yet.’ How we are both encouraged to go on being filled with the Spirit, and expect for more, yet at the same time understanding that there will be a day when we experience God’s presence fully.

This Sunday marked our 3rd year as a church on Rotterdam. In this message we reflect on the past, giving thanks for what God has done amongst us, and together look ahead to what the future could hold.

In this message we look at Jesus’ challenging teaching on the Wise and Foolish virgins in Matthew 25. How do we live like wise people? Why is the door of the Kingdom open for some but not others? What does Jesus mean when he encourages us to be watchful?

In this message, we explore some of Jesus’ final words to his disciples. We consider what it means to be a disciple and to make disciples and are reminded that Jesus sends us out with both his authority and his presence.

In his message, we celebrate the resurrection and reflect on the significance of the angel’s words: Jesus has been risen and gone ahead of you, ‘just as he told you.’

As Jesus enters Jerusalem, the crowds welcome Him as the King they want—but He comes as the Messiah they need. In this message, we explore the tension we all experience between desiring a God who will simply fix our problems, and encountering a Saviour who comes to transform our hearts.

In the final message of our Ephesians series, Dan unpacks what it means for us to ‘pray in the Spirit on all occasions.’

In this message, we explore what it means to deeply know the truth of God. Aleena shares practical ways to apply God's Word, helping us replace any lies we may be believing with His truth, ultimately finding freedom in Christ.

From the beginning to the end of the bible we see God’s heart for all peoples. In the diverse city of Rotterdam this means we have a unique blessing, a unique opportunity and a unique challenge.

In the West, we often struggle to accept the concept of spiritual opposition, especially when it takes the form of the Devil or demons. However, Paul offers clear teachings on the reality of this spiritual battle, reminding us that we face an enemy who actively schemes against us. In this message, we explore the Apostle Paul’s teaching on this subject, examine what it means to ‘put on the full arm...

In this message Gert helps to think about how being Christ followers will impact our relationships with one another together with how we approach the issue of work.
