Will from Mississippi gives us a call to work through the issues one deals with letting go of God and finding meaning without belief. Deconstruction is a tough process and Will speaks about his own experience and Johnny proposes the question: why believing in a God is a virtue? Those who are letting go of religion, this should give a believer some pause. Also, kindness is something we can all do,...

Welcome to this week’s episode of Talk Heathen! Today Doctor Ben joins Jimmy Jr. to heathen-up your Youtube feed. Krazy Jerry in MI has been getting into the science of religion and wonders how they knew water came out of Jesus’ chest once stabbed after death. Welcome to Talk Heathen! Today we have Richard Gilliver and Secular Rarity taking your calls about all things heathen. First up, VonZoom in OH doesn’t have an answer for the fine tuning argument. It’s almost always argued as fine tuning for life. The earth is nowhere near fine tuned for humans, let alone the entire universe. These are usually just hand wave arguments, they don’t give examples. Whe...

Welcome to Talk Heathen! One of our new hosts, Sofia Spina, joins ObjectivelyDan live in the studio! Felix in FL is first up! You need to be skeptical of your sources of information, especially if they’re par...

The consensus of medical pr...

In today’s episode of the Talk Heathen, Doctor Ben and Richard Gilliver take calls ranging from values to the resurrection. Josh from NY claims that prayer is “incredibly helpful” and goes on to say prayer isn’t simply a cure all. Prayer is about a coin flip in terms of effectiveness. You shouldn’t accept something like prayer without evidence that it works. Get checked by a medical professional i...

Do you need religious beliefs to do good things? Even if you can get a positive result out of a lie or fiction, it is incredibly dangerous to do so. Why are people just fine believing things they have no e...

In today’s episode of the Talk Heathen, Richard Gilliver and Doctor Ben sort out patterns that look like creation, free will based determinism, and the reliability of Paul’s writings. Guru in India argues that god must exist because we would not be around if god did not exist. Does the creator need to be a living thing? Why do we need a living being to create us? Instead of using the term, “create...
