If you are were to be who God called you to be what would that look like? If you were to do what God called you to do, what would you be doing? Many never accomplish all that God has for them due to fear. But before we go in vain, we should make sure this is God's will and not ours. What comes off as a dominating leader is actually a weak, insecure leader looking for approval. Saul is not behaving as a leader in the fear of God. His continued decisions will continue to have dire consequences...and so will yours.

How do we follow God? What does that look like? As Samuel makes preparations in his old age, he tells the Israelites how to follow God and the consequences when you don't. Get your pen ready and see if you can notice the six lessons from this man of God on how to follow God.

Saul is now announced to be the king but instead of coming forward he runs and hides. Have you ever felt overwhelmed by your calling, purpose or opportunity? Last week we learned that God will equip you and this week we see that it's time to accept and go forward in that calling.

Saul is now anointed to be the first king over Israel. God comes in and changes Saul to give him the ability to speak and be used like never before.

Paul comes to Corinth to start a church. There, he meets Aquila & Priscilla (whose name means respected woman). Through the rise of a feminist movement people scream for respect and rights. The Bible identifies the differences between male and female but neither is a lesser value. Priscilla didn’t need to prove anything but yet she was respected by many, but most of all by God.

As the Israelites start looking for a new leader, they wrongfully set their eyes on other nations and desire a king. But God wants to ultimately be their king and consequently reminds them of the consequences of their choices. INFORMATION CREATES RESPONSIBILITY. We cannot blame others for the choices we make.

In failing, the Israelites had to learn some hard lessons on what not to do. They were mixing God with idols and it wasn't going well. Now, they desire to get right with God and be restored. Do you know God wants to restore you once again. Listen to see how we get true restoration after we fail.
