Joe and Zac are back to quarterback this Monday edition of the Steel City Underground Podcast, as they look ahead to the 2022 NFL season. Everywhere the hosts look, it appears that talking heads aren’t giving the Pittsburgh Steelers a chance to win much of anything this season. A lot of rankings have them in the basement, but have the Steelers regressed this offseason? Pittsburgh is looking for Be...

Former Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell is apparently calling his football career quits – and moving onto the boxing ring. A local sports radio personality posed the question as to whether or not Bell belongs in Pittsburgh’s Hall of Honor. Joe jumps on this edition of the SCU Podcast to discuss that possibility as well as where the running back stands in Steelers history, and if he would ever be...

Joe and Zac start your Steelers week off right with some random news and notes from around the National Football League before finishing off their position group previews by adding to the Minkah Fitzpatrick contract talk last week with a cursory look at the remainder of Pittsburgh's secondary. The Steelers return Cameron Sutton and Ahkello Witherspoon as cornerbacks, but also signed Buffalo Bills...

Joe and Zac return from the Happiest Place on Earth to bring you some similar happy Steelers stories. New Steelers GM Omar Khan started making a splash last week, making Minkah Fitzpatrick the NFL's highest-paid safety. Then he doubled-down by adding a veteran defensive tackle, Larry Ogunjobi, on a one-year deal. The hosts discuss how both moves impact Pittsburgh, as well as if any other signings...

Joe and Brian boomerang back around to another preseason Pittsburgh Steelers position group preview (say that three times fast) as the hosts look at the offensive linemen. Last season was a mess for the Steelers offensive line, namely because injuries and expectations failed heading into training camp. That carried into a lack of continuity during the regular season as well. But did the organizati...

Joe and Zac return to continue SCU's coverage of the Pittsburgh Steelers offseason with some random news and notes, as well as an overview on the remaining skill position players. Last year the Steelers were criticized for using a first round pick on a running back and also passing on offensive line to secure one of the NFL Draft's top tight ends. How might that decision factor into what transpire...

Noah Freeman joins the show as he plays backup to Joe's thoughts about the Steelers current quarterback competition. Most folks see this as a one or two horse race. However, Noah is also in the camp of "don't give up on Mason Rudolph" as the duo explains that Pittsburgh's search to replace Ben Roethlisberger is a lot more even at this time than many think. While Mitchell Trubisky could be the Week...

Joe Kuzma flies solo on a new edition of "No Content June" as he takes a premature look at predicting the Steelers end-of-Summer cuts to trim their current 90-player roster down to 53. This season's edition of the "Way Too Early" roster predictions is a bit more difficult. As Joe explains, there's a lot of names at different positions, but only so many slots available. Who makes the proverbial cut...

Joe and Brian are back for a late week look at the recent developments in the Steelers organization, as 28-year-old defensive end Stephon Tuitt has decided to call it a career and retire from the NFL following a season off where he dealt with a tragic loss in his family. Some fans are panning Tuitt's decision while also questioning the front office due to salary, depth, and more. The hosts questio...

Joe and Zac return for another episode of the Steel City Underground Podcast to gloss over a variety of newsworthy tidbits from the last week in Steelers Nation. OTAs are also underway, and some critics are already spewing nonsense in regard to some Steelers starters - and...

Joe returns ahead of the holiday weekend with some quick clarifications on his thoughts about the Pittsburgh Steelers offseason quarterback competition. There are some fans - dare we say yinzers - who feel that Mason Rudolph should be sent packing. (Or that the Steelers other moves means he's long gone.) Joe explains why that may not be the case and why Steelers Nation should get behind ALL of the...

Joe and Zac are back to talk about quarterbacks again… well, not really! While there’s some talk about the Steelers passers, it’s who they’re throwing the ball to this season that’s the spotlight of this show. Pittsburgh lost three wide receivers to free agency this offseason: JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Washington and Ray-Ray McCloud are all with new teams. How did the front office address these d...

Do we remember January and February? Do you happen to recall what items were of the utmost importance to Steelers fans? Joe and Brian get on the horn to discuss Pittsburgh's additions and subtractions this offseason through free agency and the NFL Draft, debating which areas the Steelers are set with,...

Joe and Zac are back to tackle one of the hottest offseason topics for the Pittsburgh Steelers: who starts at quarterback this year? It appears that the Steelers will head into offseason workouts and training camp with four passers: free agent addition Mitchell Trubisky, 2018 third-round draft pick Mason Rudolph, and 2022 NFL Draft picks, first rounder selection Kenny Pickett and seventh round cho...

Joe and Zac are back for a Monday Morning QB edition of the SCU Podcast, looking over the latest additions to the Pittsburgh Steelers roster and setting the expectations for their 2022 season - and beyond. It should be noted that realistically, every draft pick may not make the roster. Conversely, undrafted rookies could have a shot at being in the mix for the final 53-man roster come the regular...

Joe flies solo on this edition of the SCU Podcast to point out some terrible takes in the wake of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the 2022 NFL Draft. There are not shortage of opinions surrounding the quarterback position with the Pittsburgh Steelers, with some media members contemplating if certain players should or should not have been added to the team: and whether or not yet another could be trade...
