(Ps 139:1-2) God knows your thoughts. The natural (soulish) man does not welcome the things of the Spirit, but the spiritual man discerns all things. (1 Cor 2:14-15).

Recovering from sin (1 Jn 2:1). We should have confidence to approach God despite our failures (Ps 103:12-14).

(Ps 46:1-3) God is our help in trouble. Processing recent election (Rom 13:1). Source of spiritual wisdom and power; the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 2:13). Seek the Spirit’s teaching in all aspects of life (Ps 119:18).

The severity of denying our sin (1 Jn 1:10). Consistency in the Word and self-examination allows us to show ourselves approved (2 Tim 2:15; Rom 12:2).

(Ps 37:3-5) Feed on God’s faithfulness. Communion: Symbols reminding us of Christ’s work on the cross (1 Cor 11:23-26). The faith of Abraham (Gen 12:1-4; 15:5-6; 22:1-19). Contemporary examples.

Contrasting reasons 1 John 1:9 is about fellowship rather than justification (Rom 6:6; Jn 13). Confession contradicts grace.

(Ps 139:1-4) God is in control through hardships. Gifts from the Holy Spirit; contrast between thinking of world and thinking of God (1 Cor 2:12; Ps 119:18).

Is it possible to stop sinning (1 Jn 1:8; Rom 7:25)? Doctrine of sin/hamartiology, positional and experiential truth. We can’t become sinless but we can sin less (Rom 5:6).

(Isa 40:28-31) God empowers the weak. Trust in God’s timing and purpose. The Omniscience of God. Illumination vs. Revelation. Progressive revelation (1 Cor 2:10).

Walking in light, continuous cleansing, positional sanctification (1 John 1:7; Prov 3:5-6). If God’s in the light, we should be in the light, so we can have fellowship with Him.

(Psa 31:19) Communion. (1 Cor 2:9)

Holiness and Sanctification. Sin, deception, and moral responsibility (1 John 1:5-6). Believers have a moral responsibility to align their lives with divine truth.

(Ps 34:17-19) If you’re going through heartache, God is near to you. (1 Cor 2:5-6; 1:18) Faith should not be in wisdom of men, but power of God. Hidden wisdom, parables (v. 2:7-8; Mt 13:10-11).

(Ps 91:1-16) God protects from danger, disease and fear. Differences between Old and New Testament living (1 Cor 2:3). Trusting Holy Spirit to work through your words to evangelize (1 Cor 2:4-5; Lk 4).

Doctrine of incarnation, eternal life, Trinity, fellowship, joy (1 Jn 1:1-4). Jesus is eternal life, which He brought to us (Jn 10:10).

(Ps 46:1-2) Remembering 9/11 while seeking refuge in God. Overcoming physical and emotional weakness to still glorify God (1 Cor 2:3). Rebound (Rev 3:20; 1 Jn 1:9).
