Jesus Rant

Sin is not the problem. The Lamb of God took away the sin of the world. That happened. That's a done deal. Sin is not an issue for God. Forgiven. Taken away. Dealt with. It's an issue for US though, because we are still so conscious of it. We focus on it and dwell on it. When we really ought to just lay it aside and be as done with it as God is!

Here's the thing about sin: When you are born of God and His seed is in you... you can't sin. Because sin is unbelief. So, by definition, a believer cannot sin. You can't unbelieve if you're a believer. And that seed--the seed of Abraham--is all about faith. Because Abraham is the father of faith. And faith... works by love. It's all about love. Not sinning means... loving! Believing in love. Lett...

Once upon a time there was a man who thought he could climb the fig tree--the tree of knowledge of good and evil, the tree of death--in order to see Jesus. But Jesus had a different plan. He wasn't concerned with what Zacchaeus could do. He simply wanted to dwell in Zacchaeus's house. When you're young, or immature, think you can do things on your own. You need milk. The milk of righteousness. So...

In the garden of Eden there were two trees--the Tree of Life, and the tree of death (the tree of knowledge of good and evil). I believe the tree of knowledge of good and evil was a fig tree. The same fig tree that Jesus cursed because it couldn't bear fruit. Then, in the true paradise of God in the book of Revelation, there is only one tree left. The Tree of Life!

God allows U-turns. In fact, I believe He encourages them. There is nothing you can do to separate yourself from the love of God. And even when you've done something that you think is terrible... God will restore you. He will reconcile you to Himself. Because He loves you!

We are kings and priests equipped and empowered to rule and reign on this earth. But that is only because Jesus is OUR King. The KING of kings. God is the Father of lights, which makes US the light! It all flows down from our heavenly Father. Our authority comes from Him!

Charity is love in action. And I love that description because that, really, is what love is; love is giving. It is the ACT of giving. Putting your money where your mouth is, where the rubber meets the road. Seeing a need and meeting it. Giving what you've got because you know that it's worth having, and worth giving. Experiencing what you've got by giving it away!

There is a Divine Order at work in the universe. And when you understand that order--knowing and believing... receiving and releasing--you can stop trying so hard to MAKE things happen and you can begin to experience and enjoy what JESUS had made happen! 

Why do bad things happen to good people? Well... that's not really the right question. The right question is: What do we do when things (good, bad, or ugly) happen to us? And the answer, spoiler alert, is learn and grow. Go through things so we can help others when they go through things!

What does it mean to be Christ-centered? Well, in a nutshell it is the opposite of being self-centered. It is being people-centered. And in this podcast episode we look at two examples of Jesus--who is our example--doing just that!

Behold! All things are become new! But what things? New life. New name. New heart and spirit. Lots of new things. But what does that mean, exactly? Tune in to find out!

Your identity is so important. Because what you do flows from what you believe--who you are. And who you are is who you are in Christ. Which is who Christ is in you. Who you are... is Jesus. God in the flesh. Love in a body. God in YOUR flesh. Love in YOUR body!

In the first episode of the Jesus Rant podcast we start... at the beginning. We look at what God did in the beginning, on a very personal level. Because in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. The mind and the body. In the beginning God created... you! History is HIS story, but it's so important that we find our place in that story. So this... this is where it all begins!
