Jesus teaching about His Kingdom again using an agricultural image. 1) There is a battle happening. 2) Jesus is in control. He has won the battle. 3) Jesus promises great things for His people.

The parable of the sower was given to the disciples as a way to contrast how God's word is received by the world. Some don't believe. Others believe but cannot pesevere through trial and persecution. Others believe but are drawn away by the cares of the world. And yet, others believe, persevere, forsake the world, and bear fruit for Jesus' Kingdom.

We, the church, as a single unit, are God's missionary. Just like Eve, we act as witness, bride, and body of the second Adam, Jesus.  This mission started in the garden, was foreshadowed in the OT by the various acts of sending, was realized in the person of Jesus, and was assigned to His bride, the Church. 

Short two-part message on ecclesiology. 1 Peter 2:4-10 teaches us that we are living stones in the temple we call God's people. We are His temple and His tabernacle; in us, His Spirit dwells.
