In this episode, we pick up the same question as last week, but with a new answer. The kind of disciple we're wanting to make is  defined as... disciples who actually say yes to the Spirit and no to the flesh. If we are followers who are willing to say yes over and over and over again to the Spirit, then we are the kind of disciples we are wanting to make. Not just a believer who said yes to the f...

In this episode, we pick up the same question as last week, but with a new answer. The kind of disciple we're wanting to make is  defined as... A person who follows. Jesus offers us the same invitation today as he did by the shoreline...follow me. We are trying to be and make disciples who follow Jesus.  We have set a date for the next Habits Training Cohort here in NOCO and on Zoom. The Habits Tr...

In this episode, we pick up the same question as last week, but with a new answer. The kind of disciple we're wanting to make is  defined as... People who do not see their lives as their own. They are servants. They hear, follow and obey thus bringing the Kingdom of God to their social network. Wow! Thanks Jeff for this intriguing answer that helps shape how we go about making disciples makers.  W...

In this episode, Jeff and I reflect on a key paradigm question that can help us discover what God is wanting to do in our ministries, churches, and regions. What you're trying to accomplish will determine what process to get that final result.  We have set a date for the next Habits Training Cohort here in NOCO and on Zoom. The Habits Training will begin September 22nd 6-7:30pm on Zoom. Register b...

In this episode, Jeff and I reflect on a few take aways from our guests. Two keys that stand out to us are the importance of being a life long learner, and the importance of going deep with a few. We will pick up new episodes with new guests, but after several months we thought it good to have the two of us share again what we're learning. Thanks for listening! Every movement needs training for coaches because every movement needs a catalyst and ongoing coaching. This episode is part 3 of a conversation with our friend and DMM Coach, Tom Marshall. Tom's book site Thejesusstrategy.com is a good place to go for more resources if you're interested in learning more about how Jesus made multiplying disciple makers.  Tom is the author of,  The Jesus Strategy:...

"You cannot allow me to just rot on the pews again. To not really be engaged in the work of his Kingdom is something I no longer want to do." In this conversation with Tom Marshall, Tom shares lessons he’s learned about obedience, love, and going wherever God leads him.  Tom is the author of,  The Jesus Strategy: How Jesus Taught Followers to Carry Out His Vision.  He also works with New Generatio...

Tom is kind of a grandfather of DMM in the United States. An early conversation about DMM showed Tom that people thought DMM might be unbiblical, but Tom saw DMM as a biblical model. Tom saw Jesus in the scriptures showing us a DMM model. Specifically he is convinced Jesus’ message, his gospel, is a gospel of the Kingdom. We tend to be taught the gospel of atonement, but Jesus seems to start with...

DMM is a team sport and not to be done alone. For most Westerners we tend to focus on individual growth, practice, and personal plans. DMM is meant to be practiced together, with others, and as a team. This episode focuses on lessons Robert has learned as he’s been practicing DMM. We are partners with the Holy Spirit not leaders that invite the Spirit to come along with us. Wow!  If you want to ge...

In this episode DMM Catalyst, Robert Stovall, speaks to the role of pastors in disciple making in our churches and what it means to follow Jesus in his word. He speaks to church in North America as an institution in our culture, and how making disciples is sometimes lost in the building of our churches. He speaks to the work of pastors is to equip the church for the work of ministry, but many of o...

We continue our Catalyst Conversation with Chris Galanos and in this episode Chris gives us some practical steps to take while we wait on God for a harvest. He also shares an encouragement to all of us in North America who are waiting and working in God's harvest...perhaps we're next?!  Here in Northern Colorado we are praying for our entire region. 650,000 people in our region who are not churche...

We continue our Catalyst Conversation with Chris Galanos and hear him speak to the church in North America. What do we do while we wait for God to pour out his Spirit here? How do we prepare? How can we be ready for the harvest?  Here in Northern Colorado we are praying for our entire region. 650,000 people in our region who are not churched. What would it take to reach them all? We believe God wa...

God what do you want our vision to be? Chris and the church in Lubbock prayed this prayer when they had seen 10,000 new followers of Jesus in their city. They had seen the initial vision happen…10,000 new followers of Jesus in 8 years! They prayed again asking God for his vision for them. In this episode Chris shares how the Lord gave them a vision for their entire region, and what that started to...

In part 1 of this mini series, Kelley shared how Jesus taught us to go to the home, but we tend to go to the building. In this episode we hear from Kelley on how the Holy Spirit directs our steps to learn from Jesus. God is doing a new thing in Northern Colorado, and we see in the scriptures Jesus’ way of teaching us how to live into a new way to worship. Jesus’ entire earthly ministry was a minis...

The questions we ask are important…Sometimes I hear the question, "Will DMM work in North America?".  This question is a bit of a bad question. The better question is, what does Jesus command? What is it going to take? In this episode Kelley  (teaching gift on display showing us the teachings of Jesus) unpacks the bible for us to show us how Jesus taught the disciples and how Jesus wants to teach...

This episode is part 1 of a conversation with our friend and local DMM practitioner, Kelley, who shares with us his experiences and the importance of training for the Great Commission. We Christians in the west have been taught the way of Christ through our churches and ministries, but for us to gain a paradigm of how Jesus taught; we need training through specific and practical commands that are...

This episode is part 2 of a conversation with Lee Wood. Lee has been a DMM practitioner and catalyst of DMM in Florida for over 13 years. He and his wife have practiced making multiplying disciple makers in a simple and reproducible way, and this conversation gives a quick glimpse into the heart of God for ordinary disciples. Buckle up because Lee Wood is an encouragement to anyone needing a refre...

Everyone is going somewhere, but not everyone is intentional in our movement. Jesus assumed we are going and as we’re going we’re to make disciples. Are we going? What does going look like? How do we know? In this episode we put the Great Commission under the microscope and pull apart the word…Go. DMM Downloads is a ministry of DMM NOCO. In a busy culture such as ours in Northern Colorado- The Great Commission reveals Jesus’ kind heart. He is not telling us to do more. He is telling us to be intentional with what we do. We all have the same amount of time. Will we be captured by God’s heart and his kindness and see we can be intentional with the time we are given.  DMM Downloads is a ministry of DMM NOCO. Jesus died, and was raised from the dead, hung out with his disciples before he ascended and the last thing he said to them was to carry on the mission. They were to be a part of that co mission and it was a command to go and make disciples of all nations. Here’s the point…are we doing that?  DMM Downloads is a ministry of DMM NOCO. Our priority is to unleash Disciple Making movements in Northern...

The last Download in the Pushback on DMM mini series.    Jesus said if you love me obey my commandments. In America we tend to be knowledge focused/increasing knowledge rather than action and obeying the scriptures. Legalism might focus on an outward system forcing an internal change, while obedience is an internal response which creates an outward change. We think DMM focusing on simple obedience...

DMM NOCO is committed to focusing on the Great Commission, and we believe decentralization is key to unleashing disciple makers in natural networks. As we see the gospel go as we are going it seems to make sense that the church would decentralize for the sake of the gospel. The centralization of the work is around Jesus and the Holy Spirit rather than the organization of a church system. In this e...
